What you'll do

We'll see at Farmer's Market in Shibuya at the starting time, and explore the market with a reusable bag, which I can prepare for you! I'll help you to communicate with each shop keeper. The main purpose is to think about "how to shop with zero waste." We can talk about our cultural differences in terms of packaging, plastic bags, environmental issues etc. After that, we will have a cup of tea or coffee with reusable cup at the market, and talk more! While exploring together, we'll also able to pick up trash on the streets. That's very smart way to know what this city is like. Let's think about what we can do for this planet even in the middle of the city and even though you're traveling!

Mare

I'm an actress of musical theater in Tokyo, and trying to live with zero waste and plastic free inspired by Lauren Singer in NYC. I've started to live with this lifestyle in 2018 and learn about sustainability. Tokyo is a very difficult place to live with zero waste since it's such a convenient city. However, it's not impossible to find a way to live sustainably and eco-friendly! I always bring my own water bottle, reusable bag, chopsticks, straw and so on. It seems a small tip but it can be a step to make this world better!
