What you'll do
Is this a walking brew tour with a side of ghosts or a ghost tour with a side of brews? While guests will have to decide on that, we can tell you this is not an average "sit there and shut up " tour, but rather an opportunity to engage back and forth with a 7th gen. local. As a combined bar and ghost tour guests will start out at a local Irish pub where an appetizer will be provided complimentary and guests can order some delicious cocktails or beers (yes the Guinness is on tap ) while the guide goes over the basics of local history and the ghosts present in the City of Charleston. From there guests will walk by several historic graveyards and alleyways to hear in-depth stories of local ghosts and spirits such as the notorious BOO-HAG which is only known to Charleston. Guests will begin to understand why/how ghostly activity can take place after particular circumstances of love, tragedy, and horror. Eventually the group will make its way over to the relative safety of another establishment from which some say you can hear the marching boot steps of nearby pirate ghosts including the famous Gentleman Pirate. At this location another appetizer will be served and guests have the opportunity to again purchase some cold brews. The tour will wind down at a hauntingly beautiful local park to hear about one of the first female serial killers. Don't stick around too long after...

Bryan Blalock is a 7th generation Charlestonian of Huguenot heritage, a people that would have been among the first immigrants to this historic city as of 1685. Growing up visiting his grandparents haunted house on Broad Street has allowed for a very unique perspective on this city’s other inhabitants... ghosts! As a life-long local and licensed tour guide with the City of Charleston and a Historic Commissioner in the Town of Mt. Pleasant there will be no better expert guide for a historically accurate and first hand source of this city’s haunted past, present, and future.

Where you'll be
The Boo-Hag and Brew Tour will be conducted in the historic French Quarter District of Downtown Charleston. As an area loaded with back alleys, graveyards, and historic sites this ghostly bar tour gives visitors a great representation of some places that would be difficult to find without a local guide. At least two pubs will be visited along with two distinct historic sites (graveyard) (alleyway) (park) as part of the experience.

Bryan was very personable, knowledgeable and a great tour guide! He made us feel very at ease and it felt as if we were just exploring a new city with a close friend. He makes the experience feel unique and also recommended many places to come back to for food and drinks! I will definitely be taking another tour next time I am in Charleston with Bryan. You will not regret it!
