Benton, Pennsylvania, United States

Experience hosted by Carrie

  1. 60 mins
  2. Hosted in English

What you'll do

Located at Barakah Heritage Farm in Benton, PA.

Meet our donkey, horses, and pony on their turf
Learn how to communicate with them
Share some grooming time
Learn their individual stories and personalities (we have a shoe thief, a clothing nibbler, a child-loving caretaker)
Experience horses working with us, not for us
Soak up the peaceful energy of the spectacular farm views

You will interact with horses as conscious beings, learning their body language and energy, their personalities, and what they seek from humans.
We begin with a release form, orientation, and safety briefing. Then we enter the herd's area in the pasture.
Guests may actively interact (by the horses' choice) or sit in the grass and simply enjoy being together. We end with final discussion about lessons learned, and any last questions, before hiking back down.

Guests will leave with an understanding of the unique and vibrant individual personalities of these conscious beings, and how horses can befriend and partner with humans.

Note: there is no riding in this experience.

No pets in cars/on tours, for their safety and our animals' safety - Please give advance notice of service animals - no RV/trailer parking - security cameras on site

carrie is magical in bringing the two-legged humans together with her majestic four-legged beauties. we are repeat offenders and have come to barakah several times this year... our first year w carrie. she has a special way of translating horse to english... and beyond words... she has a way of helping the humans see horse sacredness. thank you carrie.

This was a wonderful experience, meeting the horses up close and chatting with Carrie about her farm and her loving care of the horses, donkey, pony, goats, chickens, and ducks. A conscientious farm run by a kind person.

I would suggest any of the experiences offered here. We learned so much while we were there. All of the animals are well cared for and the hosts are friendly and take time to get to know you.
