What you'll do

Join the herd for bonding time, brushing, and lessons in herd communication and dynamics, wrapping up with a short guided herd walk around our scenic Groundhog Trail at Barakah Heritage Farm.
Our mixed herd of Jasmine the donkey, the rescue horses, the rare black Malabar Jilfan Arabians, and Malenna pony will welcome you into their space to meet them, teach you how to communicate with them, and share mutual grooming and perhaps play.
You will learn about interacting with horses as conscious beings, their body language and energy, their personalities, and what they seek from humans.
We begin with a release form, orientation, and safety briefing. Then we enter the herd's area, either in the pasture or in the barn during rainy weather, to interact with everyone. Some of the herd members will then take you for a 20 minute walk around our trail, with a safety escort from hosts Carrie and Toni.
Note: there is no riding in this experience. We reserve the right to limit the number of horses and assign horse human partnerships for the trail walk.
No pets. Please give advance notice of service animals.

I'm a published author of two books - The Energetic Goat and The Healing Of Horses.
My best teachers have been the horses themselves.
