What you'll do

I'll welcome you to my studio and throughout the workshop you will be offered refreshments, latte's, coffee, tea snacks etc. I paint with oils using Linseed oil, (no turpentines, or toxic smells), onto to wood panels. I will give you the choice of canvas or wood panels and I'll start by introducing you to oil paint. We will choose what we would like to paint from photographs or a photo you would like to bring. You will learn how to mix colour with linseed oil, and how colour mixing works and how tho start using the colour wheel. We will paint together so I can help you with your composition, start to paint and learn as you go and enjoy experimenting with paint brushes, or palette knife. I'll be demonstrating and answering all your questions and teaching techniques and encouraging you to find your confidence, so that you are able to leave at the end of the day with enough knowledge that you can continue to practice oils at home. You will leave with your painting.

Sarah

After touring the world for 18 years in the International show 'Stomp', as a founder member and original performer, I am now back in my ancestral home of Cornwall. I walk the costal path and paint land and seascapes in oils, back in my studio. I am a full-time professional artist with a studio in a beautiful Georgian house in the centre of Truro, Cornwall. I have been painting full time, professionally since 2018, after studying at The Newlyn School of Art for one year after a Masters at Falmouth University in 2014. My exhibitions have been extremely successful in the last year and I am now booked up with exhibitions until the end of 2020. I have a website and a wonderful social media following and you can see my work online. I love Cornwall and being Cornish I love expressing my history and connection to it through painting.
