What you'll do

We will gather in the classroom studio where we will prepare your design from the photo or drawing you wish to use as inspiration for your print. You do not need drawing skills for this experience, we use photoshop to convert your chosen image to black and white and reverse it suitable for transferring to your lino or acetate drypoint plate. We will talk about the difference between dry point printing and relief printing so you can decide which method you would like to try in your lesson. I will share with you a brief history of printmaking in Australia while you carve or etch your masterpiece. We will then show you how to use our gorgeous locally made printing press, transferring your print onto several sheets of beautiful cotton content acid free paper. All skill levels are catered for and classes are kept to a maximum of 4 students to ensure that you get the most out of the experience and can enjoy the space and tranquillity to fully immerse yourself in this wonderful process.
