All in all in was a nice experience. The farm is amazingly self sufficient and it’s great that no chemicals and pesticides are used whatsoever. If I would be reborn I would like to live on that farm as an animal as they seem to live like in heaven. Yet somehow we had hoped to have some interaction. Maybe see how sugarcane syrup was made, or we would have harvested some vegetables for the lunch or at least we would have had a long walk around the farm. Our guide Tanya did a good job and explained all about the farm. But the little super slow walk we did, covered maybe an hour. we had rather the impression that we were just waiting for the lunch which was at noon. The lunch was absolutely great and delicious!!! We were also very much looking forward to buy salami, ham and sausage which did look so delicious on the pic on the advertisement. Unfortunately those were not available at all. So for us it was a very tasty lunch in a great area outside of Havana with info about the farm.

The experience on the finca Vista Hermosa was one of the highlights of my trip to Havana and Cuba. It's amazing to find such a great farm and countryside at such a short drive from Havana. The farm has been active for over 100 years and they have developed a unique, truly sustainable circular system of growing crops and and stock. Nothing is wasted and people and animals seem to live in perfect harmony. Tania was a great guide, very enthusIastic to share her love for the life and work on the farm and she told us many interesting and fun stories. And the food was amazing too, some of the best I've had in Cuba.. As a vegetarian I appreciated the cheeses most, they tasted heavenly! The buffalo yoghurt I bought was also a real treat. Thank you for the great service and friendly welcome by all the staff. Don't miss this unique opportunity for a great day in the countryside, delicious food and insight in organic farming!
