What you'll do

We will meet in a coffee shop in the center of Progreso and there we will have a talk around us and the arts, our concerns, searches and needs are some of the topics that we can share, and then we will make a walk of approximately 10 min to the New Malecón. Once there we will choose a nice spot where we can make natural drawings based on observation or simply motivated by space. During the walk I will talk about some species, their relationship with the geography where they are found, the social and cultural links carried out by the different human groups, if that is the case, and the reason for the scientific illustration all through history, as well as my work from creativity to the arts. The new boardwalk has the virtue of sharing with nature, being an open space and being reasonably close to common spaces, the sea allows a pleasant ventilation. The opportunity to talk about art while producing work seems to me to be something unique and very genuine when this gentle elements exist.

Learn more about Igor

Igor

I am an artist, lover of nature, bicycles and travel. I have more than 20 years in the arts, a BFA (2007) by Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, where I lived 9 years, I reside in Yucatan from where I am originally and hold a diploma from CONACULTA-INBA. I have spent seasons in Colombia, Ecuador (work in the Galapagos), Canada, Austria and Italy, participated in festivals in Andalusia and the Amazon. I firmly believe that art also allows us to reconsider the environment, cultural and ecological wealth as it changes and / or disappears every day. Yucatan is a hot spot for biodiversity (endemic species), knowing them through art is a great opportunity that can positively leads us to get closer to ourselves and thus, to preservation.
