What you'll do

Named for its crystal clear waters, the Emerald Cut section of Rock Springs Run winds through sections of lush jungle-like nature, breathtaking emerald water and sandy bottom beneath your paddle as you explore this tropical oasis in in the middle of Central Florida.

Rock Springs Run is one of two designated Wild and Scenic Rivers in the state of Florida, part of the complex ecological system of the Wekiva River Basin. This spring fed river supports a myriad of bird and wildlife watching opportunities to include river otters, deer, turtles and maybe even an alligator along the way.

The first half of the tour we begin paddling upstream against the current, paddling over and under trees and through the twists and turns of the river until we reach the bridge at Kelly Park. The second half of the tour, we will sit back and go with the flow as the current takes us back to the launch point.

This tour is great for any level of stand up paddler from beginner to expert and is great for the entire family to enjoy. We ask that you are a confident swimmer, comfortable in the water, must be fully mobile and in good physical condition to join this tour. Stand up paddle boarding is a low-impact, full body workout and is a great way to get outside to enjoy nature and have some fun!

Our guide Kim, was great, super friendly and educated us on the local eco system, which was a plus! The tour was super convenient and easy to find which allowed us to enjoy our day. Kim was able to capture photos of us, which made for great memories to look back on. Highly recommend, we’ll definitely be back!

It was a beautiful tour. We went between X-mas and new years and it was comically busy. So many kayaks and SUPs you could barely get through the narrow river at times, but obviously not the tour's fault. Additionally, there were 8 of us in our group and probably 4 of them were unbelievably inept at paddling. My girlfriend and I were new to paddle boarding, but these people were next level bad. To make matters worse, they were probably 20-25 minutes late and we had to wait for them (even though the description says they'll immediately leave if you're not on time). Again, it's hard to fault Otter Tours for that, but still very frustrating. In the end it was a pretty river and our guide Sabrina did the best she could considering the circumstance. I'd do it again--just not around a major holiday.
