What you'll do

it will be an outdoor lesson to learn how to recognize wild herbs that grows in the countryside, woods but also along the streets of our cities. We’ll take a walk in a green area of ​​the city not far from the meeting point to observe how many potentially edible wild plants grow practically everywhere! We will talk about the gastronomic uses and the dialectal names reported in the ethnobotanical researches and their importance on a cultural level, but also economic and social. On this occasion a meal or a tasting is not expected. Alessandro

I'm a Gastronomist from Abruzzo graduated at the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo, Bra in Piedmont region, Italy. I took the degree in 2010 with a research thesis in Ethnobotany. In the next years i participated in field research in Italy, Albania, Macedonia, Haiti and Dominican Republic. Now i work as forager in Italy between Abruzzo and Marche regions. I collaborate with cooks and farmers to defend the enormous cultural / identity heritage that lies behind collection of spontaneous plants and cultivation of ancient varieties

Where you'll be

The meeting point it’s in one of the main squares of Bra Piazza XX Settembre, from there we’ll walk along a road that goes out of the city and leading to a green area where it’s possible to observe that wild food plants grows everywhere, around the houses, along the roads, in gardens and cultivated fields
