What you'll do

Pay what you want in the end!

We will start downtown in Pack Square to learn about the history, architecture, and some of the local legends surrounding Asheville! During our tour, we will be sure to cover all major landmarks like the Basilica of St Lawrence, and the Grove Park Arcade, but we will also go off the beaten path to explore the Block, the YMI, Woolworth Walk's old-timey soda fountain, and Wall St's catwalk!

During the trip, I will be providing insider tips on the best places to eat, drink and play for the best prices, including the places where locals hang out for free! We will discuss hidden gems that many people walk by daily without ever noticing an eagle overhead, the faces engraved on the wall, or the secret pathway that cuts your trip in half if it's raining :) We will dive deeper into Asheville's "buy local" culture and what that means for companies who get listed as "sell-outs." Also, we will discuss stories of sabotage, controversy, and little-known success stories of previous residents! We will also check out a cool museum called Leaf Global and taste local spirits from a distillery except on Tuesdays.

At the end, my guest will get discount beer tickets to taste some local brews from one of Asheville's finest, local breweries called Twin Leaf.

I am a world-wide traveler. I have lived in 5 countries and have visited 48 thus far. I love to meet new people, experience new cultures, and to try really delicious food and drinks. I have worked with tourism in many aspects of my life but the most significant was the two years I spent in Brazil hosting volunteer groups and planning their itineraries from beginning to end. I learned a lot about what people want to do when they have a limited time to do it! When I came back from Brazil in 2017, I moved to Asheville and fell in love with the city and I have been sharing it with friends from all over ever since. I have spent a lot of time getting to know the true culture of Asheville and I would love to share my passion with my fellow travelers!

Each of our guides have an interesting, unique story about what brings them to Asheville!

The walking tour was great - interesting history. I’ve been coming to Asheville for years and had no idea. So glad we decided to do this tour!

Definitely worth it for the tip-based guided tour! My guide knew her stuff & her personality is perfect for being a tour guide. Very informative, fun, & nice to meet others. This is a don’t miss! FYI If you’re not into alcohol try to go on the morning tour

This was a great tour! The guide was pleasant with my very inquisitive kid and also kept the pace with my elder aunt. He was very knowledgeable and we all enjoyed his tour! Gave him a big tip!! Well earned!!

While the tour was interesting and we learned a lot about the history of Asheville from our guide, the map we were given at the end that we were told would give us discounts at local restaurants and breweries was no so great. 8 restaurants, 5 breweries, most of them hadn't even heard of the tour and none of them offered us a discount. Again, the walking tour was good but no need to hold out until the end for the "discount map."
