What you'll do
If you love animals, you can become a volunteer at a dog shelter near Barcelona. We will start the day by briefing you about the tasks needed to be done. Please note that needs for the shelter are different every day, so we will ask you to help with whatever is needed the most. Among the most common activities we can name are walks with dogs, socialize with them, cleaning cages and common areas, help with feeding, do watering and grooming. After the fulfilling day, we'll offer you a refreshing drink or beer and some snacks. This experience will reward you with the strong feeling you get from helping these beautiful four-legged souls that were left abandoned.

I'm Jaime, founder and president of Voluntarios Itinerantes. Over the past year we have collaborated with numerous shelters, we have organized over 200 volunteer days and over 300 volunteers have joined us in our weekly outings and activities. «We go and we help» is our motto, and this is exactly what we do. The needs are similar at every shelter, but the priorities are not. Some need the dogs to be walked and socialized, others need us to clean and organize their facilities. Some reach out to us because they need medication or food or to build fences or create spaces where the animals can live in better conditions. And we are there to help
About the organization
VI was founded to improve the quality of life of shelter animals. Most of these shelters do not have the financial means or sufficient personnel to fulfill their duties. We try to fill that gap with monetary donations, advising, and most of all, volunteers. Our objective is for shelter dogs and cats to live in the best possible conditions, and hopefully increase their chances of being adopted.
