What you'll do

I'll be helping you connect with the forest. We'll slow down and awaken our senses as I guide you through a series of evolving sensory-focused invitations crafted to help us best discover the medicine of being in the forest.

Our immersion experience will be in the style of Shinrin-Yoku as developed by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. It will be about 2 hours long and cover between one and two miles of trail. We will share our stories throughout and end with a tea ceremony featuring tea from foraged medicinal plants. We'll depart with a new appreciation for the nature that surrounds Seattle and some skills to put into practice in our daily lives.

I'm the founder of Cascadia Forest Therapy and have been guided folks in forest bathing sessions for over three years. I am certified as a nature and forest therapy guide by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. Ever since I was a kid, the forests of the Pacific Northwest wonderland have been my home. I'm honored to experience them with you.

Where you'll be

We'll be walking in one of the most lovely and uniquely historical stands of forest the Seattle area has to offer. On my favorite trail on Cougar Mountain we'll encounter big trees, native species, and beautiful water features.

Looking for something completely off the beaten path? No, literally off the path. Spend a morning connecting with mother earth! A beautiful experience incorporating mind, body, spirit and the forest. Do you want to hug a tree and tell it how much you love and appreciate it? Then go for it! Maybe give it a little smile. :) No judgement, good vibes and a new appreciation and understanding for the connectivity between us all. Highly recommended for those with an open mind and an open heart. Michael is a healer! Great value, great company, beautiful setting. You definitely won't be upset about it.

As a person who lives in Seattle, I regularly get out to the mountains and love being in nature. Michaels experience deepened my relationship with nature in ways I hadn’t anticipated. Would recommend as a great experience to do as a visitor or a local.

This was by far the best investment of my time and resources. With Michael's calming guidance, you'll truly experience the forest. Michael helps everyone in the group feel open and comfortable with their own discoveries and finding.

A great first foray into forest bathing. And needless to add, I will be back for more with Michael. His calm demeanour is infectious, but lets you be yourself to explore the forest on your own!
