What you'll do
We’ll meet at the studio and get to know each other over a drink. Then I’ll give you the background story of how flower-piping techniques for cake decorating made their way from the United States, and were developed and advanced here in Korea. Then we’ll get decorating. You’ll get to decorate a small cake, or four small cupcakes. We’ll be decorating with locally produced butter to make the buttercream, and I’ll share my secret recipe with you. I’ll explain how the buttercream flowers you make are inspired by real Korean flowers and traditional colors. Afterwards, you’ll help me prepare the party table where we’ll have tea and coffee with the cakes you’ve designed. [Class Curriculum] Peony Flower or Roses / Flower leaves & buds

I used to work for a fashion company and traveled around the world. A few years ago, I changed my career and have worked as a cake decorator ever since. I'm an instructor at the Korean Flower Cake Association, and participated at the International Bakery Expo in Hong Kong. This craft has grown significantly in Korea in recent years and I’m excited to share my passion for it with you.
