What you'll do

You will be a ramen chef at this four-hour event. You will learn how to make either Tonkotsu pork bone broth or vegetarian/vegan broth, soft boiled eggs, Chashu meat, spicy and Shoyu or Miso seasonings. You will also experience making the chewy thick noodles from scratch. This experience includes gyoza appetizer as well as your own delicious bowl of ramen at the end. During the class, we will discuss origins of ramen and give you tips in how to buy ingredients and re-create making ramen at your own home. We encourage asking as many questions as you want.

If you have any special dietary restrictions, please follow the instructions in the welcome message to let us know. Please note that we do not allow any outside food and drinks (including coffee) to be brought in.

I spent quite some time studying at the International Ramen School in Yokohama, Japan. It was a really fun experience! Afterwards I felt like I understood more about how the ramen I usually have to go to restaurants to experience is made. Manville and Jeff do an excellent job in guiding you through the process from beginning to end. I felt engaged throughout the whole process and was able to take a lot of tips not just for ramen but just cooking in general. Would highly recommend!

It's a worthwhile experience! Manville & Jeff were excellent teachers who walked us through the whole ramen-making process. It's very hands-on yet doable even for those who don't really cook.

Had a really great experience at this 4-hour ramen making class. We got to learn from start to finish how every step of ramen comes together, from broth to seasoning to made from scratch noodles. Manville provided insights into Japanese ramen culture, explained why certain parts of the process were done the way he did them, and got everyone involved in hands on activities and the teaching. Overall, my boyfriend and I had a fantastic time, and feel confident that we know the process well enough to make our own bowl of ramen at home.
