What you'll do
Let's start our great day in the early morning by offering alms to a monk in my neighbourhood! We will buy the food for alms offering at the local shop, and then, we'll move to the waterside and wait for a monk rowing a paddle boat passing by. Look! The monk is coming! We'll offer him the food that we bought by putting it into his alms bowl. The monk will give us blessings in return. Next, to complete the Buddhist traditional way, we'll pour the water of dedication to whom we love (mostly for those who passed away).
Feeling hungry? I'll take you to have local breakfast at a signature restaurant. After getting energy from the meal, we'll take a long-tailed boat to visit Wat Ratcha Orotsaram Temple. The royal temple's name means "The temple that was renovated by the King's son (who was later crowned as King Rama 3)". You'll see the magnificent chapel and the image of the Reclining Buddha.
Next, we'll continue the boat ride to Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen temple, which has a very beautiful interior. This temple is also well-known as a model temple for meditation. We can try to meditate as a Buddhist or go to a museum in the temple area.
Before ending our trip, we'll go to Talat Phlu community and walk around to observe local life. Did you know that Talat Phlu is also famous for Thai food and dessert? Let's get some or we can have lunch here if you want!

Sawasdee Krub :) My name is Taro, Co-founder of TakeMeTour. My team and I work together to create the best authentic experiences to travellers from around the world! For this experience, you'll be accompanied by my team member, uncle Jeab. He lives in a small house near the canal in Thonburi district for over 45 years. Throughout his childhood, he's been familiar with using the boat as a local transportation. When he grew up, he used to work as salesman, and a lecturer for the employees in many companies because he loved storytelling and the communication. Now, he is retired but he still finds new things to do. During his free time, he always takes his foreign friends and travellers to visit his neighbourhood. He has been doing this for more than 10 years and he loves it! Come join us to see another shade of BKK that you might not know!
