What you'll do

As you enter our cozy log cabin, you'll be welcomed by me, Sherri Pengjad, the voice behind the popular Thai cooking blog, Thai-Foodie.

First, I will share with you how I fell in love with Thai food, my Thai hubby, and then Thai cooking. Then you'll work in the kitchen with me to make three dishes:

*Tom Kah Gai, a flavorful Thai chicken coconut soup:
I will show you tricks for working with its unique ingredients such as lemongrass, galangal and kaffir lime leaves.

* Pad Thai, a beloved shrimp rice noodle dish:
Then I'll demonstrate how to make tamarind paste from scratch, and from that make your own Pad Thai sauce, and explain the pro tips on how to stir-fry tricky rice noodles.

* Mango and Sticky Rice, a favorite Thai dessert:
Last but not least, I'll share the hack for how to make sticky rice if you don't have a sticky rice steamer, and the secret behind how to choose and cut the best mangos.

At the end of the class, we will eat our Thai dishes together as we sit either at our long farm table by the cozy fire, or outside on our front porch while taking in the mountain views, as I answer your questions about Thai cooking and Thai culture.
Other things to note
We have young four kids, so you might end up meeting them at some point during the class.

I'm Sherri Pengjad, the voice behind the popular Thai cooking blog, Thai-Foodie, which I've been sharing Thai recipes on for the last 9 years. I've lived in Thailand and have taught Thai cooking classes all over the world. My Thai hubby and I have been married 10 years, and he adores my Thai cooking. If me, an American girl from North Carolina, can become an expert in making Thai food that even my Thai mother-n-law loves, than you can learn too, and I'd love to teach you how!

Sherri gave us the most amazing experience... Sharing her knowledge and experience from spending time in Thailand, meeting her husband and learning about their culture. It was so nice to spend an evening with her and learn how to prepare authentic Thai Cuisine... This was definitely the highlight of our vacation.

Sherri provided a wonderful evening for the four of us. She has authentic Thai cooking experience and a passion for the food. She is very friendly and caring and we all felt very at home in her beautiful house. The food came out amazingly and we were all full and happy. We feel like we could recreate the meal from what we learned and plan to do so when we head back home. Highly recommend this experience if you are in the area!

This was such a nice experience for my husband and I. We wanted something different for date night and this absolutely hit the mark. Sherri was very friendly and thoughtful of everyone in the room, my favorite part was how she got everyone involved!! She has great energy and I loved the authenticity of the recipes she shared with us. Amazing experience! Would definitely try this again with Sherri for new recipes! Thank you for sharing your home and passion for Thai cooking.
