What you'll do
Salem is a beautiful city best known for its tragic 1692 'Witch' Trials. Our 'walk and talk' will focus on the history of the Witch Hysteria of 1692 while discovering additional Salem sites along the route, including some from the movie Hocus Pocus. The tour length is about 2 hours depending on the interaction and the pace of the group, and we'll cover about 2 miles. As a resident, I can share a local perspective to help bring Salem alive for you. Our tour is historical, but I may sprinkle in a legend or two along the way.
If the dates/times of the tour posted do not work for you, drop me a note and I will do my best to accommodate your travel plans.

I am a licensed tour guide who has lived in Salem for 60 years. I own Salem Haunts, and your tour will always be led by me. I welcome and encourage questions or discussions along the way. Please note I do not dress up and I'm not an actress. I am a lifetime local who enjoys sharing our history with visitors from near and far.
Where you'll be
Our walk will visit about 10 spots depending on the pace of our group, including these sites: The Lyceum Building, the site of the Salem Gaol (Jail), the Joshua Ward House, the Witch House, Ropes Mansion (from Hocus Pocus), and the Witch Trials Memorial. We will not enter any buildings; the tour is entirely outdoors.
We loved our tour with Beth. She gave us so many interesting facts about Salem that there almost isn’t a need to visit any of the museums. She also provided us with other interesting facts about Salem beyond the witch hysteria. Had an awesome time!

Beth's tour was an absolute highlight of our trip to the Boston area. She is a wonderful storyteller/guide and extremely knowledgeable about both Salem and the witch hysteria. Our family of four (including kids aged 13 and 10) really enjoyed walking around with her, and gained a terrific sense of the history. Plus Beth is just lovely and generous. Highly highly recommend!

Beth was extremely knowledgeable about Salem and had cool tidbits of information about every block that we walked down. Meetup was at a centralized location and was easy to find. On top of the excellent tour, just walking the streets of Salem you’ll see all types of things that make you want to go back so you can check them out. Great tour - 10/10!
