What you'll do
Meeting at Okutama Station we will cycle to a lake along the old road. I will introduce you to the history of the area and its nature and culture, which is very different from Tokyo. Along the way, we will come across old shrines, mountain villages, and wildlife. At the lake, we will visit a small museum exhibiting historic artifacts. Then we'll return to town to soak our feet at local onsen - hot spring. After we will shop for souvenirs.
Rental bike Mountain bike or electric assisted bike with a helmet
I am originally from the UK, and have lived in Okutama for eight years. I know the area’s history and culture. I have been working in the town's bike rental shop for four years. I explain routes, do guided tours with Japanese staff members, and do repairs and servicing. I am active in the community, volunteering for sports events—marathons and cycle events—and taking part in local festivals.
