What you'll do

The facilities are nestled in the gorgeous tropical dry forests, just minutes from the beach. From the moment I will welcome you at the visitor center of the Wild Scarlet Macaw Reserve, your attention will be caught to the gorgeous Macaws that are flying around the valley at eye level. If you are an avid birder and photographer, you will be desperate to get your camera out! I will give you the time and space to get the perfect shot of the most beautiful bird of Costa Rica, whilst providing you with a background of these birds, why they are so rare and the organisation that brings them back from the edge of extinction. I will offer you a warm or cold drink as you get comfy on the roofed veranda of the view point.

Abi

Hi, I am Abi and my passion for wildlife conservation brought me to Costa Rica in 2018. After successfully completing an eight month volunteer apprenticeship as a Macaw breeding specialist, I joined the team full time as the visitation manager to help spread the word about these incredible birds. Through gaining extensive knowledge about these birds, I am committed to sharing this knowledge and making other people as excited as I am. I just love for people to feel the thrill of seeing these magnificent creatures spread their wings to take flight and reveal their beautiful colors. I will do everything I can to making this experience your best in Costa Rica!
