What we’ll do

We will embark on a journey that will take us from the thriving metropolis environment of the Portland Metro Area, via public transportation, to the totally "wild" back country of the Salmon Huckleberry Wilderness in just a few hours. Along the way you will enjoy many different beautiful scenic areas as you travel with a host who has over three decades of experience accessing and exploring these…

What else you should know

We can bring some gear to let you use, but better to bring your own if you have it. Wear hiking boots or shoes that you can do some walking in. We can arrange rental boots for you if necessary.

What to bring

Comfortable Hiking boots or walking shoes if you have them.
Extra layer of clothing/gear in case you get cold.
Depending on the weather, you might bring rain gear.
Any food or drink you might want to have during our journey.
Any medication or special equipment/nutrition you might need.
Small backpack or other way of carrying these things with you.

Where you'll be

The Wildwood Recreation Site is a natural recreation area surrounded by the Mount Hood National Forest in northern Oregon, United States. It encompasses 580 acres of old growth forest and five miles of interpretive trail along the Salmon River.
