Feel the deep forest, the majestic and magnificent trees , hear the birds and smell the deers. A discovery tour taking you to the hidden corners of the secret Sonian Forest (45km²) which, in addition to being the green lung of Brussels, is a place bursting with history. Where you'll be

The exclusive trail 8,5 km footpath walk " Schone-Eik wandeling " brings us to deep in the middle of the Sonian Forest, discovering the marvelous beech and oak trees of nearly 50mt height and more then 250 years old. ( 17e century) . Don't be scared to be face-to-face with some deers, a fox or some wild boars. By evening twilight the forest is mysterious, silent and scaring. Lures and baits hearing the Night Owl.

Definitely recommend for those who are tired of the city and need a breath of fresh air! It was very interesting to learn about the forest, trees and animals and to hike around with good company. There happened to be a storm just the day before so we saw some big uprooted trees which was quite impressive. Everything is left as it is, so you really feel surrounded by nature in its pure state. Thank you to Michel for being such a great guide, everything went very smoothly and it was a lot of fun! :)

Michel is very thoughtful and eager to share his knowledge! He taught me how to view the trees and stopped to share about the century old trees we see on the way. The forest is amazing and one would not be able to do it without a guide because there is no signage at all. That makes the whole experience even better than the usual hike I do. One thing to take note is to wear proper tracking shoes as the path can be muddy.

Michel is a friendly and warm person. He made me very comfortable during the trip to the sonian forest. The nordic walk in the forest in itself is an amazing experience. He has rich experience of the forest trees and current challenges and ways to conserve the trees. Not only did he picked me up from the tram station (which happened to be the meeting point) but also dropped me at the city centre so that I could continue shopping for rest of the day. During the travel, he nicely explained the brief history of Belgium as well. I highly recommend you plan a nordic walk with Michel.

It was a wonderful experience with Michel. While arranging, he was responsive and gracious in communication. During the experience, he was welcoming, generous, patient and informative. As we discovered and enjoyed the technique and brisk pace of nordic walking, we paused periodically to learn fascinating details about the forest ecosystem and left feeling more connected to the woods around us. Being in the forest at night with headlamps added a new dimension to the experience. We were energized and stimulated and learned a lot. Thank you! Highly recommended!

A sunny autumn day was perfect for a walk in the woods with Michel, surrounded by beautiful Beech and Oak trees in their full yellow, orange, and deep rust colours. As we walked, people passed with their dogs, and even a lady on a horse went through. The ground is carpeted in gorgeous orange leaves. The Nordic poles make the walk easy, Michel has a deep knowledge of the area and the flora and fauna and gives the perfect amount of information as you walk, and you will absorb the peace and quiet of your surroundings. Towards the end of our walk, the light was going, so we put on headlamps so we could see where we were going, and walking through the forest in the dark was awesome. If you love being outdoors and spending a pleasant few hours in good company you should book this tour.
