What you'll do
South African gastronomy is a real mix of cultures. The Boers, Indian, Malay people, French, British play a role in the SA gastronomy. During this hands-on cooking class, I explain the different eating habits, diets and tastes among the various cultures in South Africa. This is a fun way to taste delicious South African recipes by cooking them together. Experience the cuisine of the rainbow nation: the starter has an Afrikaner influence: roasted sweet potato and biltong salad the main has a Cape coloured influence: Cape Town bouillabaisse the dessert was created by the English : Apple tart in a potjie Nice recipes to bring back home as souvenirs. Lekker good! And to complete this African experience...you will then even have the opportunity to cook in African traditional clothes.
Dinner All ingredients for the class are included. I adapt myself to all types of intolerance or diets
Cooking equipment, aprons and even African traditional clothes for even more fun!
Born and raised in Normandy, cooking has always been my passion. When I moved in South Africa, I had to adapt myself to the local food and learn to cook with South African ingredients and now I want to share this with people that are new to the country because I have been!
