About your host

I’m a Visual Artist with more than twenty years of painting and drawing experience. My preferred medium is acrylic, but I am comfortable with oils, pastels, charcoal, and graphite. For almost four years now I have worked as a full-time artist; paying my bills with art sales, and commissions.

What we’ll do

Have a creative day at the Portland Art Museum with a local artist, and a pencil in hand! We will meet at the entrance of the museum and walk together to the Museum Grounds Café. There we will introduce ourselves, and get to know each other over locally sourced coffee and pastries. Friday participants may also take advantage of Art Pub At The Café's selection of wine, beer, and rotating…

What else you should know

Sketching in pencil, colored pencil, and charcoal pencil is encouraged in the museum. However, the use of ballpoint pens, crayons, pastel, charcoal, and wet media is not permitted.

What I’ll provide

Entrance fee
One adult priced admission ticket ($20 value).
Creative supplies
I will provide drawing paper, clipboards, sketching pencils, sharpeners, and erasers.

Where you'll be

Our lesson will take place in one of the jewels of downtown Portland, the Portland Art Museum. Founded in 1892, it is the oldest art museum on the West Coast, and the seventh oldest in the United States. Recently the museum has finished an expansion becoming one of the 25 largest art museums in the United States, housing more than 42,000 works of art in its permanent collection alone.
