What you'll do

Visit farm, cellar, vineyards & cooking!
We find ourselves in Florence and I'll take you with mini bus to my organic farm, in a tuscan countryside area, very charming, surrounded by olive trees and vineyards in the heart of Tuscany between Florence and Pisa, about 35 minutes from Florence. With "Emanuela" you visit a vineyard with native Tuscan vines, she'll tell you about the landscape, the plants around us, visit the cellar where we produce organic wines and you taste red wines directly from the barrel. You will know our domesticated pork, walk among the olive trees and collect aromatic herbs: oregano, dill, thyme, rosemary, and sage that are essential to complement and enlighten our meals, we will teach you how to recognize and harvest each of them.
James" is our professional chef and you'll have a beautiful country cooking experience, you'll learn little secrets to make fresh pasta like spaghetti or tagliatelle and ravioli with only flour and eggs.
After lunch from May to October you can enjoy our swimming pool.
We'll give you a cookbook and a jar of aromatic salt for cooking.
The return journey is by train from the San Miniato station (35 minutes to Florence station Santa Maria Novella). The ticket train price is 5€, to buy directly in San Miniato station. Move by train is the most ecologic and comfortable way back to Florence avoiding car traffic.

Giulio are the owner of a farm, he is graduated in oenology and he’s a renowned writesinger in Italy.
Lapo is winemaker and "Cheese taster" by the ONAF "Cheese taster Italian Organization".
Every group has its own qualified instructor like Jim (personal chef) and Emanuela your host!
"Dalle nostre mani" is the name of our company, our family owns an organic farm near Florence where we produce tuscan organic wine, olive oil, fruit and vegetable.
The wine we make is lively, sincere and natural, produced in a way which is friendly towards the environment and the people who drink it.
All farming operations, from pruning to grape harvesting, are carried out by hand with great enthusiasm, the same enthusiasm that marks how we produce these natural wines.
Lapo & Giulio also have a famous organic restaurant in Florence open for more than 11 years

Where you'll be

We'll cook inside a family farming kitchen. The wine cellar which is called Dalle Nostre Mani where we produce organic tuscan wine from the old vineyards.
We cultivate our vineyards without the use of herbicides, cutting the grass that grows along the rows of vines, without destroying the natural vegetation that lives on the soil.
We will cook with the herbs that we will have collected, in an ancient country kitchen

We enjoyed this experience in that it didn’t feel touristy at all and it felt very local and casual but in that regard it felt a little unprofessional and underdeveloped. We didn’t feel that either host was an expert in their given field and this made it feel a little disingenuous. We loved the different parts of the experience but they didn’t flow together as well as we would have liked. It was great to be out in Tuscany and enjoy the views and the vineyards without paying a fortune- in that respect it is great bang for your buck. I think the bones of this tour are great and have real potential but ultimately could use a little facelift.

We, a group of 4, had a great day at the organic farm with the welcoming and friendly hosts. We started with learning about the application of certain herbs, then saw the vineyard and got a brief look into the wine making process. The latter part was a bit rushed, although Alex paired it perfectly with the pasta making segment. Alex taught us the different basic steps of making tortellini and tagliatelle without modern kitchen appliances. He was very helpful, entertaining and made sure we were short nothing during our class. Once the prepared pasta's were ready, we had a delicious self made dinner with a red wine from the vineyard. We would recommend this tour whilst visiting the Pisa region.

This was one of the most nicest experiences and best part of our trip to Italy! Every penny is worth it from the tour around the farmhouse and smelling/tasting the herbs. Then tasting wines and understanding how it’s made etc then pasta making. The host for this was so super friendly his name was Alex. He made everything extra special from his sense of humour to explaining everything and answering questions. The views and settings for the pasta making is breathtaking I would recommend this to anyone going! Only thing i wish the communication would have been a little better before as I asked if it was vegetarian options for the pasta and didn’t hear back from The host which made us nervous! Otherwise everything was so perfect! Thank you

The communication and expectation for this experience is not completely on point. We never met Giulio and James. Alex picked us up from Florence although there was no way to communicate with him or "Giulio" as my messages went unanswered. Nonetheless, this was a stellar experience! We met with Emanuela and she gave us a tour of the farm, vineyard, and winery. Alex helped us make our own pasta and cooked it for us, too. Emanuela and Alex were lovely people and made it a great experience!!

I had a lovely time on this tour. Great value for money compared to some of the other wine tours or cookery classes - lovely that you get an experience of both wrapped into one. The herb garden tour was very insightful and the lady was incredibly passionate about teaching us her knowledge! The wines were delicious and the pasta making class was very well done! All with an amazing view over the Tuscan countryside!!
