What you'll do

Oh the places we'll go! Hello and welcome to an overview of the Arcosanti Photography Tour!

We'll officially begin the tour with a brief introduction to Arcosanti (the prototype Arcology), the Cosanti Foundation and your tour guide Jessica Jameson. Before we depart everyone will have signed liability forms and media consent release forms.
Location: Visitors Center Gallery
Duration: 10m

Now we're ready to take some photos! We'll depart from the Gallery and walk through Arcosanti as a group with cameras and tripods (optional) to photograph unique architectural elements and structures set against the high desert of central Arizona.
Location: Arcosanti
Duration: 45min

We'll conclude the tour with a quick debrief and tour feedback. Everyone is welcome to lunch in the Visitor's Center Cafe depending the seasonal availability of food services and it's operating hours. Or you are welcome to pack your own and enjoy it in the Cafe indoor or outdoor dining areas!
Location: Cafe
Duration: 5m

Please keep in mind that the Arcosanti Photography Tour is mostly an outdoor walking tour along uneven concrete surfaces and multiple stairways. The Arcosanti Photography Tour is subject to cancellation based on extreme weather conditions.

The Cosanti Foundation's goals are to inspire research, actuate conversations surrounding environmental stewardship and further demonstrate the Arcosanti urban laboratory as a prototype Arcology. Where you'll be

Arcosanti's architecture has round shapes, sweeping curves and textured concrete surfaces, including Crafts III, the Ceramics Apse and Vaults (archways). The Colly Garden is a peaceful oasis on the mesa's south-east edge. The East Crescent Complex hosts the open-air Amphitheater, while the Minds Garden is lined with olive and Italian cypress trees. DUE TO COVID, guests are prohibited from visiting interior spaces, besides the Visiter's Center.

The experience Jessica shared with us today we will always remember. She is beyond knowledgeable of the Arcosanti complex, and an amazing photographer who took beautiful pictures of us and also showed us some of the best shots and how to take them. Highly recommend for anyone staying overnight!
