What you'll do
This art workshop is a contemporary spin off of a ‘sip & paint’ where you will leave with an abstract painting of your own. First we will give you a brief tour of our unique white box studio space. Complimentary cocktails will be offered to those interested. We will start the lesson by going over the basic principles of design and how it applies to the painting project at hand. All materials and supplies will be provided, including a surface to paint on. Everyone will make a small physical collage to use as inspiration for painting. We will discuss abstraction and how to use the collage as a reference for color, form and composition. The class will be able to work hands on along side the artists. We will be there to assist with techniques and encourage you to tap into your inner creativity. This will be a stress free, fun environment where the participants can comfortably create, enjoy cocktails and learn an new art making process.
I am a professional visual artist and co-owner of The Real Milk Studios, an art studio and gallery space located directly off of the Atlanta Beltline. I have a collaborative partner, Emily Braswell, whom I create paintings, sculptures and installations with. We are both formally trained in fine art from University of North Carolina School of the Arts. I received my Bachelor in Fine Arts from Maryland Institute College of Art. I’ve been awarded a fellowship to attend Penland School of Crafts. I’ve studied abroad at Paris College of Art and I’ve worked professionally in NYC in the fashion and art industries. Since moving to Atlanta, Emily and I have gained notoriety for our elaborate art exhibitions and powerhouse studio.
