What you'll do
Perfect for fans of Outlander and Braveheart!
After so long in lockdown, imagine at last spending a romantic day together, speaking carefully-chosen words of love and devotion to each other under a secluded canopy of trees in an ancient Scottish woodland with connections to Mary Queen of Scots.
I’ll write you an unforgettable personal ceremony to celebrate that perfect moment, whether it’s a wedding, anniversary, new commitment or other relationship milestone.
I’ll take time to learn about the love and hope which makes your relationship unique, then I’ll compose vows and promises for you to make to each other to perfectly express who you are.
You could exchange rings or other gifts with special meaning to you, or include some traditional Scottish or Celtic symbols, which can all be done with social distancing.
Eg, handfasting uses beautiful, hand-made ribbons, knotted around your wrists in an evocative and deeply moving action to demonstrate your joining and commitment. Oathing Stones of sparkling Scottish granite can be held in your hands as you speak to each other to show the strength of the promises made. A shared drink together from the quaich symbolises the ancient highland tradition of giving your word with love and trust.
When your ceremony is complete, I’ll leave you with a small gift and the opportunity to explore more of your surroundings at your own pace.
Other things to note
Your ceremony is the essence of your experience. It can go ahead in most weather conditions except heavy rain, high winds or extreme cold. In case of poor weather I will do everything possible to deliver the ceremony under cover at a romantic indoor venue.

Hello, I’m Aileen and I'd love to conduct a romantic Celtic commitment ceremony for you!
Celebrancy is close to my heart. When people are able to say the things which matter to them in a ceremony, either alone or witnessed by their loved ones, it can cement their relationships and strengthen their families in a profound and lasting way.
I've undergone rigorous training in both celebrancy and creative writing, specialising in ceremonies for families and couples. I'll take time to learn about what's special in your own story and then write a unique ceremony to express your commitment to each other.
When I decided to train as a celebrant, it was important to me that the training would be the most challenging I could find. I chose to study for the NOCN Level 3 Diploma in Celebrancy so you can be sure your ceremony will be in good hands.

Where you'll be
From an accessible spot on the edge of the city, I’ll take you for a walk through ancient woods which have had a significant role in Scottish history from the times of the Stuart kings to the 20th century. Now part of the city of Glasgow, this area remains both beautiful and still. You will soon feel as though you have left the city behind and the clearest sounds you will hear will be birdsong, rushing water and the wind in the trees.

Aileen was so lovely. We felt like she genuinely celebrated our love with us. The ceremony was professional but not "stuffy", we felt comfortable and fully immersed in our surroundings.
We had the choice to go into the beautiful forest after with your picnic. This perfectly sealed or day.
Highly recommend.

Spent a lovely afternoon with Aileen. A walk through the park included the history of the place as we talked, and the location site was just magical, next to a bubbling stream. Aileen took her time to get to know us over email, and personalized every detail.
