What you'll do

Join me for an in depth taste of the unique flavors of Senegalese cuisine. We will be exploring Bed-Stuy, home to a large Senegalese community. We will visit local stores and boutiques selling Senegalese items. We will then visit a local Senegalese restaurant where we will sample a few signature dishes and meet the chef. Whether it's the legendary "Thiep bou Djeun" or drinks made from sorrel, there's something for all taste buds. I will share with you more than just the names and ingredients of the plates, but also the culture I grew up in and how it thrives in Brooklyn.

Ibrahima

From the shore of West Africa to the Eastern borders of The USA, I came to share stories. This means sharing my passion for New York City with the people who want to discover it while not losing my roots. Just like me, many griots in Senegal has passed along stories, legends of passed times and still do beautifully. I always feel I am a part of the big colorful puzzle that makes the city unique.
