What you'll do

Big Al's Bootcamp tours is all about showing you a new side of NYC - while getting the best, full body workout you can imagine! We will start with a warmup in one of NYC most beautiful spots. Then, we will jog to our first stop in Harlem. Each circuit will be in a new spot, with a light jog between "stations". As you get those reps in, I will share some local knowledge about the neighborhood. After 6 locations, we will land in a peaceful cool down where you will end with an inspirational message and hopefully some new muscles and friends!
Other things to note
This experience is for the fitness type. It's a perfect way to stay in shape while exploring NYC! There will always be modifications offered, but attendee's should be able to jog at least 2 miles (3.2 km).

Hi Everyone! I am a born and raised New Yorker who loves fitness! I am a certified ShapeUpNYC fitness instructor, currently teaching a bootcamp class in Harlem, where we do high and low intensity interval training. Where you'll be

Jog to historic landmarks you didn't even know existed in NYC. Each tour will be slightly different, but expect to hit at least one waterfront, park, bridge and statue.

I had so much fun during this boot camp! Its a great way to get to know under-rated parts of NYC if you love to travel but hate touristy stuff. Also, great way to stay in shape if you’re like me and worry about how you’ll exercise while traveling. The only thing I’d say is, this is definitely for people who are accustomed to exercising. My knees are really bad and i couldn’t always keep up, but Allison was so kind to check on me and let me know that its ok to take care of myself first. She’s also willing to provide modifications

I loved Big Al's Bootcamp Tour. I experienced and learned about a part of the city that I hadn't explored much before. For someone like me who's passionate about fitness, travel, learning and culture, it was fantastic! We ran, did workout circuits, danced & learned about cultural monuments on our 3 mile journey from 110th ST to Yankee Stadium. It was a challenging workout and I would definitely recommend it.

Big Al is the best!!! Right from the start, she did a great job making the whole group feel welcome and made sure we had fun. This bootcamp tour is perfect for any traveler who loves fitness and wants to learn about NYC history and culture through the eyes of a New Yorker. Super informative. By the end of the program, we were all laughing taking pictures in front of Yankee Stadium. The bootcamp is a perfect mix of cardio and strength training. We hit every muscle group, including our brains lol. Seriously though, HIGHLY RECOMMEND this experience. A great deal with an amazing host.
