What you'll do

We will walk and explore inside a save and fenced off area. We will go through grassland, riverine forest and up with the hill from where you will be able to get a good view.
There is 10 km network of routes to walk. We will agree before the start if we do the easy or intermediate route. We can also do a combination of the two. Since I spend a lot of time here, I know the area very well. Very enjoyable area to walk.
We will also talk about the interesting history of the area. You are welcome to bring your dog with.
At the end is an restaurant where your dog will also be welcome. You can enjoy beers and a light meal there and look out over the area.
Other things to note
You can come, even if you have never hiked before. You can also come if you are unfit. I will always take you into consideration. I always carry a first aid kit with me and I am first aid qualified.

Meet your host, Antoinette

I left a music career in the orchestra to live my dream. I founded Flycatcher Travel and Tours in 2003. I just love nature! I have rafted rivers, scuba dived around the South African coast, keen on birding with more than 480 birds on my list and I hiked the mountains. I have summit Mt Kilimanjaro twice! I hike as often as I can. I am a cultural guide and I often give talks on the Colonial Period in South Africa. I love interaction with people and to show them around.

Where you'll be

There is secure parking for your vehicle at the entrance. We will be at a private park in the East of Pretoria. We will walk on a well marked trail path and cross the Wolwespruit a couple of times. There will be mountain bikers inside the park, but they are on different tracks, so they will not knock us over. I just love the whole vibe of this place!
