What you'll do
This tour will give you an insight into the contemporary socio-economic make-up of Brussels.
Brussels is a city like no other, with locals of various linguistic communities, expats and migrants of various generations, and counting 183 nationalities. It is also a seat of international organisations and companies.
You will discover why they are here and what they do in this city.
We will explore the wonderful and the ugly of living together and how it impacts the city as a whole.
We will also touch upon its history, to understand how this cosmopolitan city came to be, its urban development, the present-day politics with all its complexities and what the drivers of the local economy are.
You will also hear about Brussels’ activist and artists, who push the political debate and fight for change.
This tour helps you discover Brussels as it is in a modern-day and how it came to be.
Other things to note
Wear comfortable shoes. Brussels streets are full of surprises and we will walk a good deal.
Bring a jacket and/or an umbrella just in case - even on the warmest days, Brussels weather may surprise with a sprinkle of rain or a gust of cold wind.

Brussels is my passion. I've lived here for the last 10 years and the more I discover it, the more I fall in love with it.
I've dedicated much time to get to know this city inside out, to understanding its complexity and uniqueness.
I have followed many routes and talked to countless people. I have asked questions about neighbourhoods, art and culture, society and history. I am continuously uncovering how things operate here and why. I am fascinated with the depth and richness of this city, and I am probably far from done...
