What you'll do

Can't decide whether you want to see waterfalls, the rainforest or chill with kangaroos and koalas? We'll do it all!

We'll start the day watching kangaroos grazing and sunbathing freely in their natural environment and try to find sleepy koalas in their native homes of eucalyptus trees.

Next we'll visit breathtaking waterfalls, surrounded by ancient flora and walk as dinosaurs once did through the World Heritage listed Gondwana Rainforests. Explore subtropical, warm & cool temperate rainforest types and a experience a diversity of natural vegetation including the oldest ever carbon-dated trees on the Australia's mainland!

Be amazed by the natural beauty that is to be experienced at the 5+ stops throughout multiple sections of the Springbrook National Park each with varied walking distances, only a low level of fitness is required, but some locations we visit are not wheelchair accessible. Total duration is approx 6-8 hours, if you have any queries about the walking condition, please ask!

Lunch is provided at the top of one of the many beautiful waterfalls that we will visit.

Pick-up included from most Gold Coast locations. For any group bookings, or to request a date that isn't listed or any enquires please message or email: gcrainforesttours@gmail.com

That the area with kangaroos & koalas is not a zoo, but a conserved piece of land for the animals to live happily in their natural environment.

I am frequently leading nature tours Gold Coast Rainforest Tours and I have a good knowledge of the local surroundings. In my private time I love being in the outdoors and am almost constantly surrounded by nature. Having grown up around Aboriginal communities across various parts of the country, I have also developed a good understanding of the land, plants and animals that live across Australia.

Private Charters are also available.

Check out the other wildlife experiences that I host, we might be able to do it on the same day!

Just had an amazing day out exploring the Gold Coast hinterland with a classic Aussie guide full of stories and information on this unique area. The Gondwana rainforest was incredible and to have someone guide you around and explain about a range of the different species of animals and plants and how they came to inhabit the area was great. We explored some amazing rainforest and waterfalls, enjoyed a picnic lunch at a cool lookout and ended the day with a visit to a huge conservation area to see koalas and kangaroos in their natural habitat 😊 Another highly recommended experience while on the Gold Coast 👍

I recently holidayed in Queensland and discovered Gold Coast Rainforest Tours. I was keen to go through a tour as I wanted to ensure I would not become forever immersed in the rainforest, as I have a woeful sense of direction! I felt completely at ease with Pete, I felt like I was on an adventure with an old, but highly organised, friend. I have been on tours in the past where you could almost nod off as guides were droning on and on. Pete was so different- he was personable, yet professional. He made the content funny and engaging and showed how knowledgeable and passionate he was. I originally had only booked one tour but after the first one I was so impressed (and it took out all the planning and stress for me) so I booked two other tours. Over the three tours I was fortunate enough to see relaxed koalas and kangaroos in their natural environment - a welcome change to what much of our wildlife are experiencing right now. I was able to gaze at glow worms (definitely worth crawling out of bed for!) and I got to see parts of Queensland that were tranquil and tourist free - an opportunity I would never have had without Gold Coast Rainforest Tours. I cannot recommend Pete and Gold Coast Rainforest Tours highly enough, great staff, memorable experiences and absolutely stress free. Next time I am looking to explore in Queensland I will be getting in touch again. Thank you!!

This is sure a fun and unforgettable day! You get to see some gorgeous waterfalls and awesome lookouts😊 The rainforest is beautiful! I learned a lot about different trees and birds and some new things about aboriginal culture too. Pete is very knowledgeable about the area! He is so enthusasic and friendly. The lunch provided is delicious. Everyone on the tour was great, it was a nice small group and I even made some new friends! Seeing the kangaroos was so great too! There were so many of them! We saw a couple of koalas as well. I have been to a zoo but it was way more cool to see kangaroos and koalas here, in their natural environment. There were quite a few baby kangaroos, so adorable! It was such a memorable day from start to finish. It is my favorite thing I’ve done on the Gold Coast!
