What you'll do

We will meet in one of the oldest neighborhoods of the city to start the walk.
We will cross the district and one of the most beautiful Brussels avenues to reach the Canal and find streetart there.
From there, we will visit Molenbeek's centre. Nicknamed "little Manchester" because of its many industries, we will discover its post-industrial heritage and see how this Brussels municipality is being transformed.
As we walk, we will go back to the canal and stop at the old breweries Bellevue part of which is transformed into auberghôtel and the other, museum of contemporary art, the MiMa. From there, you will have to opportunity to visit the Museum or go back to the city centre with me.

This walk is particularly recommended for photo enthusiasts and Instagrammers.

I am a Belgian travel blogger in love with her city. It's been 14 years since I returned to live there after a long expatriation. As I try to go see the paths less traveled for my blog, it is the lesser known corners that attract me. I also co-wrote a guide on Brussels published in 2018, so I know my playground quite well.

Where you'll be

We start the walk at the Place Ste-Catherine, in one of the oldest districts of Brussels
We will travel the Boulevard Diksmuide, one of my favorite streets with buildings from the late nineteenth, early twentieth century.
From there, we will arrive at the canal and its spontaneous street art.
It is also here that we will enter Molenbeek for a walk on the side of the old factories and along the canal.
A well-deserved beer will await you at the end!

Went on a great walk together and Mélissa was very knowledgeable about both history and current events. Highly recommended if you’re interested in knowing more about the northern area of Brussels :)

Melissa was very nice! Several locations were closed on Sunday, but she still took us many places we never would have gone on our own. She even recommended a place for Belgian fries that did not disappoint! Thanks Melissa!

It was pretty fun talking with Mélissa and venturing around the city. Definitely an experience that I wouldn’t have done without Mélissa as the tour guide. She showed us some really cool street art!
