I was born and bred in Hayama. I’m English speaking and knowledgeable about the Isshiki Beach area. I love to spend time in and on the water, including surfing. I’ve been working in the entertainment industry for over 25 years and recently took over the boat rental business from a family member.

We were able to catch some small fishes and grill them afterwards at the beach. We had a great time and Junta is a really nice dude.

Saito owns a really nice wooden house on the beach. We sailed by ourself about 300m away from the coast line. After two hours’ fishing, we caught two beautiful yet small fishes! Saito was really helpful and kind! 100% recommended!

Saito briefly taught us how to use the rod and bait, and basic rowing movements. He then let us go out to the sea on the rowing boat, but did not follow us. It was a clear day and we had a good time. Caught very small fishes! Felt that this experience was quite costly (price wise).

We didn’t have the best experience like the other participants who reviewed this experience. Unlike the picture which shows the host with the travelers, you will be on your own. You’ll be given a boat to row and a fishing rod per person. The tackles, lures, and fishing bait will cost 1000 yen. The host will give you a brief tutorial on how to maintain your rod, as well as where and how to catch fish around the area. After that you are on your own. Simply put, if you are not an experienced sea fisher, you will not be able to catch fish unless with the help of a guided assistant. On the bright side, being on a rowing boat for 3 hours floating on the gulf of Isshiki was nice and calming.

The place was beautiful! I loved the area, you can see mount Fuji clearly. Junta-san is a really nice person. He showed me the place and taught me about fishing. The wind was too strong at that day so we couldn’t go in the sea but I did a little fishing and I had a lot of fun! I had a saba sandwhich where they did barbeque, it was really delicious! I would love to go again! :D

Our trip with Saito was OUTSTANDING! What an amazing time and we caught and caught fish. He explained how to bait the hooks and gave us all the inside tricks to find the fish and advice on how to get the fish to bite. This was far worth the trip outside of Tokyo and is by far a memorable experience that was a highlight of my trip. His English was great and was so happy, helpful and a just all around good guy to be with. I will do this trip again!
