What you'll do
During this small group walking tour by and above Lake Bled you will hear old stories and local tales while relaxing in nature. Be ready to be taken into another historical period when Lake Bled started to evolve into a health resort.
Throughout this tour, you will not only learn some new things, but also do something for your health.
Since my family originated from the heart of the Julian Alps, I will share with you some of the personal stories, as well as local customs. We will hike for around 40 minutes (to get up and down the hill), but will make many stops in between.
While walking through the forest, we will listen to its sounds and smell spruce, birch and other trees, being away from the crowds.
If you are a nature-lover wishing to stay active during your trip, then this nature walk is ideal for you.
Other things to note
This tour is suitable for those who are able to hike (we will hike on a steep trail for about 10 minutes).
As for the weather: in case of heavy rain, the tour may be rescheduled or cancelled.
Please let me know if you have any food allergies.
If you do not see a date suitable for your, contact me.

I am Bled-based content creator, photographer and qualified Julians Alps guide. I love being outside in nature, exploring places through the lens and showing others my discoveries. You can get a glimpse of my work on Instagram – @bledoscope.
Being a founder of a local's online guide called Bledoscope, I write about the things to do at Lake Bled and nearby places in Alpine Slovenia and promote honest tourism.
I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and trying out international recipes. Before settling down in my hometown, Bled, I lived and worked in different countries (Norway, Spain, Macedonia, Hungary).

Where you'll be
After spending some time by the lake where we will trace back the history of some of the buildings we will go on a short hike. We will climb a hill that has many stories connected to it and enjoy the views from the top of it.
We will not only see Lake Bled and Bled Island from above, but will also admire three major mountain ranges of Slovenia.

I would definitely recommend this hike with Petra!!
She showed great knowledge of the local history of Bled and it’s origins, the hike itself was very enjoyable and worth while with its spectacular views at each of the stops along the way to the top. Petra was also very helpful with answering all the questions I had and showing me where the bus stop was to get to Vintgar Gorge (another place I’d recommend to see while you’re in Bled)
All in all I was very lucky to get to be one of the last people to go on this hike with Petra before the winter season.

Petra immediately made us feel welcome! She was prompt and had gave great directions and tips prior to our meeting. She shared personal experiences with us. Petra even googled information on our home state so that she could engage with us effectively. She shared information in a relevant and interesting manner. Petra has an extensive education in international affairs and presented herself with professionalism and sincerity. We truly fell like we made a friend in Petra even though we are halfway around the world! Loved our time with her!!!
