What you'll do

Experience the beauty of the Old Town and Royal Route when it gets darker.
During that tour you will learn about the history of the sites, about Warsaw`s turbulent past and one of the most outstanding reconstruction projects in the world history.

Meet me under Copernicus Statute and walk down the famous Royal Route. It's the most representative artery of the city where you will find many important buildings from historical standpoint and outstanding examples of Warsaw architecture: Warsaw University, Holy Cross church, Presidential Palace, Hotel Bristol and more. Discover the most breathtaking highlights as well as little-known hidden gems. Discover sites related to Frederick Chopin. Let's have a stop to taste Polish vodka!
Head to Castle Square in Old Town. Learn about the oustanding reconstruction of the Royal Castle. Then walk along cobbled narrow streets of the Old Town, and learn which parts of buildings are original, and which are reconstructed. Go back in time to the Middle Ages.

After this tour you'll understand why it was decided to reconstruct this area after WWII, how difficult it was in the post-war reality, and why UNESCO made such an exception to award the area that was almost entirely rebuilt.

My name is Łukasz, and I was born in Warsaw. This is the city of my ancestors: my family has been living here since the 19th century. I studied social psychology, and I`ve been a professional licensed guide of Warsaw since 2013. I'm also a certified guide of the Royal Castle. I guide people from all over the world, and this is what`s incredible about it - meeting people from different cultures. I love my job and I love sharing my knowledge and passion about my city :-)

I am the author and curator of two websites about Warsaw - Warsawcitytours.pl and Klimatwarszawy.pl, where I write about history, architecture, local restaurants, museums, public art and places that I think are worth visiting, but cannot be found in regular guide books.

Where you'll be

The Oldest part of the city is a "must see" attraction of Warsaw. The Old Town is placed on UNESCO World Heritage list as an "oustanding near total reconstruction of a medieval city". This is also where the Royal Route is located. It contains important institutions, churches, historical hotels, some of them survived World War II.

Before going on this walk with Lukasz I enjoyed Warsaw but did not have the feeling to return. In just a few hours of learning, listening, and exploring with him that has totally changed. He is delightful, and extremely perceptive. His passion for his city is infectious. You will see this city anew - through his introductions to its history, buildings and monuments as well as to barely visible small and unique details impossible to understand on your own. If you have the opportunity to walk the streets of Warsaw with Lukasz I guarantee you will return.

Great experience! Lukasz was very nice and knowledgeable about the area. I had a personal touch as I was the only person booked on my tour. Lukasz engaged all of my questions and added a few extra bits of information. We made stops along the Royal Route that were just perfect. My favorite was going inside one of the churches. We even made an attempt to stop for chocolate but the line was too long. My tour was pretty magical as there were lots of festivities taking place asv it was the day before a national holiday. My tour was awesome and I can't wait to recommend it to others.

Lukasz is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate! He is personable and kind, open minded and is a full-time tour guide! His English is perfect and he knows details about everything! He is incredibly intelligent and thoughtful! He made my whole trip worth it! He brought out the history culture and heartbeat of this city. He is forward thinking with his open mind and is a truly beautiful human inside and out! I’m honored to befriend him and connect! Life-changing amazing! I was limping from my own injury and he was so accommodating and went slowly, thoughtfully warned me about steps and held the doors for me, he spent time sharing as well as asking and we truly connected. He shared many sites and facts I otherwise would not have known!! And his knowledge for art, history and culture is beyond impressive yet so humble and kind. The best teachers explain complex facts so simply and understandably! He is truly the best guide hands down. Patient and kind, knowledgeable and intelligent, grounded and stable, thoughtful and detailed. Beyond amazing ❤️
