What you'll do

When you first arrive we will start with a chat about your current lifestyle and any injuries or issues you might have (potentially over a cup of tea or juice). I will also ask you about your experience with Pilates and other forms of exercise. Many of us have one shoulder that is higher or one hip. It is essential to see what your current holding patterns are first before working to adjust them.
You will then receive a one hour Pilates class aimed at postural alignment and improved mental health. Pilates, like Yoga, unites the mind and body in a way that eases tension and promotes health and wellbeing. Regular practice improves your breathing, posture and outlook on life.
There are whole body benefits to stretching and strengthening. You will also relax your mind with a short guided meditation at the end of the class.
After the class you will be offered water or juice to re-hydrate, as well as some healthy snacks.
Take a break from daily life in order to refocus and get clarity.
Other things to note
You do not need any experience of Pilates but it would be helpful if you could let me know if you have any health issues before we meet. I can make adjustments to the class to accommodate most conditions.

I have been practicing yoga and Pilates for over 20 years. Two years ago I trained as an instructor and have been teaching ever since.
In my classes I focus on core strength and postural alignment but you will have the chance to chat about any particular injuries or issues before we start.
I am also very interested in mindfulness so each session ends with a short guided meditation. Please come and join me to develop your positive posture and relaxed mind.

Where you'll be

The class will all take place at the Old School Yoga Studio in Preston on Stour, a beautiful village just outside Stratford-upon-Avon. It would be worth taking a walk around the area before or after the class.
There is parking outside the Studio.
