All our hiking tours start next to the tiger statue in front of the Oslo Visitor Centre at Jernbanetorget, in central Oslo. Most buses, subways, trams and trains stops at Jernbanetorget.
After meeting with a guide, you will take the metro line Frognerseteren to Lillevann. This is a great train ride, so be ready for the panoramic views!
The view from Lillevann across Lake Bogstad and Sørkedalen is magnificent. We will hike through an exciting and varied landscape down to Strømsdammen, Sørkedalen and the beautiful and majestic Bogstad Farm. Bogstad Manor is located in romantic Norwegian landscape. Our guide will share the history of this place.
After that we will hike past Lake Bogstad and return via public transport to Jernbanetorget, where we started. This is an easy trip. However, previous experience of walking in forests is an advantage.

I had a wonderful hike with guides Mustapha and Cheryl! We met up at the lion statue in central Oslo and then took the subway to our hiking spot. From there, we hiked for a few hours through a wonderful and magical forest that offered lakes, waterfalls and brooks.
During the hike, Mustapha and Cheryl told stories about the surroundings, Oslo, Norway and their own lives. They're both very sweet and have some great stories to share. I couldn't have wished for better guides.
After the hike we visited Bogstad Manor and made our way back to the central station using Oslo's excellent public transport system. As soon as I got home from my trip, I ordered a printout of one of the pictures taken during the hike, because it's so breathtaking.

Einar and I had a great hike, despite the snow, fog, and slight rain in the area. We had great conversation on the way to the trailhead and enjoyed the majority of the hike basking in the outdoors. Along the way, Einar pointed out some things about the area and I ended up learning a lot about what it's like to live in Oslo!
I definitely recommend booking this to get a nice exercise in the morning along with a great view of the city and fjord. Check the weather the night before, and Be sure to bring waterproof [hiking] boots if it might be rainy the next day, along with a rain jacket if you have it. An umbrella might be too difficult as you go between a decent amount of trees!
