Hi I'm Jon co-founder, Brewer & Distiller at the Foundry Brew Pub. Paul is The Brew Pub General Manager and makes the whole thing work. We brew on site 16+ beers and Ciders. We also distill 4 Gins, Vodka and apple pie moonshine, these are made on site from English barley from grain to glass. Our spiced Rum and white Rum are distilled from Molasses again fermented on site. All this makes us a very rare little find :)

This was my first visit to Canterbury, and to The Foundry. The talk and whole experience was a highlight of our weekend. Paul was really friendly, very knowledgeable and the whole ethos of The Foundry followed my own principles-no waste, being involved in the community, along with excellent service. We decided to eat there too and the food was delicious-the best we had the whole weekend. The building is lovely and sets exactly the right vibe. Well worth a visit and well worth booking a tour.

The tour of the brewery was a great experience with insight to workings and development of it and it’s place in Canterbury. They had given much thought to how to make it a great experience within the new guidelines. Good value for money, would recommend. Always good to listen to someone who is an expert in their field.

We first arrived and the place is full of 80% alcohol hand-sanitiser and everyone on the staff wears masks (properly!). Safety distancing is well observed which made us feel very comfortable. The tour itself is amazing. They're conducted by the owner and main brewer, Jon, who knows his stuff like nobody else. He's extremely passionate about brewing, brewing new beers, and dabbles in whiskey refining and gin distilling. He talked to us for an hour, prompted by our endless questions. We then had a personalised flight of beers built to our taste, and were delighted that Jon could stay for a pint with us. The small group was perfect to share and ask more questions, and we left feeling like we'd made a new friend. Would highly recommend, it is absolutely worth the money, but more importantly it was just a great afternoon out! We stayed way past the tour trying new beers.

I chose this tour as a birthday gift for my boyfriend, and both of us came away from it feeling that it was a really unique and personal experience. Being able to try such a variety of unique and small batch beers was great, and the gin was even better. We loved it so much we stayed for dinner and had a good chat with Paul at the bar as we were leaving. Overall, I highly recommend this experience if you are in Canterbury!

I believe it was Paul who did our brewery tour, he really did make the whole experience for us. His knowledge on the brewery and what it has done over the years was incredible. We did a tasting as part of the tour which including a selection of the beers, gins and even moonshine all brewed within their walls. I really enjoy all the beers I tried and bought a bottle of gin to take home to the girlfriend. The range of beers and gin was impressive, you'd struggle to find something that wasn't to your taste. The food also looked really impressive so we stayed for diner after the tour and we were not disappointed. Paul even sat with us for a chat and recommended local places to visit as well as some to avoid going on what we were looking for. I couldn't recommend this place enough for food or drink and would highly advise the tour. It really gave some back ground to the brewery that we otherwise didn't know about and at a great price considering all the free tasters that we got included in the price. I got a pint before the tour, this was also free because of the tour, which was a nice add on. Thanks to Paul for being a great host.

Absolutely loved it! Jon had such a great knowledge of everything. Super friendly and engaging definitely not like a lecture. Got to have a few drinks after and learnt some new types of beers that I like.
