Hi! I’m Jon, the Co-Founder and Head Brewer & Distiller at the Foundry Brew Pub. We brew on site 16+ beers and ciders. We also distil 6 gins, a vodka, a moonshine, and all of these are made on site from English barley using a grain to glass method. In addition, we make a spiced rum and a white rum that are distilled from molasses & fermented on site. To top it off, we have also made a whisky which will be available in 2022! We are a rare little find indeed :)

I brought my partner for Father’s Day, Jon was brilliant at explaining the process of beer whiskey and gin making. We can’t wait to come back again. We had great food, the staff were very attentive. Top place!

fantastic from start to finish. Jon was knowledgeable and dealt with our questions as they arised with interest. So interesting to hear not only the brewing and distilling process but also the evolution of Canterbury Brewers and Distillers. A real experience and the samples were well timed. Stay after for the awesome flights of spirits or beers and the tasty food in a really special setting with a history in itself.

This experience was brilliant ..Jon the ultimate in knowledge of brewing not just beer. Get asking questions nothing is un answered. The tasting beers are lovely and great insight into what is brewed. This brewery has grown thorough some tough times and due to its ingenuity has survived and grown. We then stayed had some more beers and gin with a gorgeous meal. In a pub that's atmosphere is lovely. Staff great with service friendly and quick. Thank you all .

Absolutely recommend this experience. John was a lovely host with such great stories and knowledge. The value was even more than we expected. Getting to taste a large quantity of beer including a welcome drink. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience more than a bigger brewery. The personalisation made it such a great part of our trip.

This is a great activity in lovely Canterbury. We really enjoyed listening to Jon, who gave us a very personal and interesting talk about brewing beer (and more) while we looked at all the equipment and enjoyed our delicious samples! Thank you for being so welcoming to our son also (aged 3), we all had a great time. Lovely pub too, very close to the shops, so do go early or stay after to have some food and more drinks. The red rye was my favourite! Cheers x
