Como guardián de semillas (15años) impulsé el mayor germoplasma privado de semillas de la región conservando hoy más de 1000 variedades. Cofundé la red peruana y contiental de semilleristas Semillas de Libertad (RSL) y miembro activo de Slow Food Cusco. Se impulsa una permacultura andina integral "de semilla a semilla", más la crianza animal que permite el ciclo completo agroecológico (truchas, cuyes, cerdo, etc...). Ofrecemos asi alimentos orgánicos de única diversidad, debido a una casa de semillas comunitaria abierta a la colectividad realmente única.

Casa de semillas comunitaria. Espacio de cuidado y conservación de más de 1000 variedades de semillas orgánicas. Siempre y cuando no sea el mes de descanso de invierno, huerta botánica de permacultura andina, "vitrina" de 600m2 de nuestras posibilidades de producción comunitaria. Restaurant familiar, con espacio abierto y cerrado, y áreas verdes. Gracias a nuestra casa de semillas producimos la casi totalidad de insumos del hogar y del restaurant

We had an incredible visit with Alain and his family. We started by learning about his work saving seeds and his philosophy on sharing the diversity of seeds with his community. It gave me new perspective that I sorely needed, coming from a somewhat (normal) capitalistic background in the US. He answered many questions we'd been acquring about the Incan terraces and Andean agriculture in general. Then we went for a tour of his seed saving/testing garden/laboratory. The diversity and thoughtfulness gave us much to think about, and it will definitely cause me to change my garden planting style when I get home. Then we had a delicious multi course lunch, all food grown on site and prepared by his family. We have spent a week in Peru so far and it was definitely the best meal we've had here. We came to Peru to learn more about Andean agriculture because of the importance and abundance of the crops that were developed here, and I highly recommend this experience to anyone wanting to gain more depth in understanding of both the science, history and philosophy of the farming in Peru.
