About your host

Robert is the founder and CEO of L.A. Kitchen. He has been a nonprofit leader, author, speaker, and activist in the food recovery, job training, & social enterprise movement since 1989, when he founded the nationally recognized D.C. Central Kitchen. Robert received the 2004 James Beard Foundation "Humanitarian of the Year" award and has helped more than 1,600 men & women gain full time employment.

By reclaiming healthy, local food that would otherwise be discarded, training men and women who are unemployed for jobs, and providing healthy meals to fellow citizens, L.A. What we’ll do

Transform reclaimed fruits and vegetables and turn them into healthy meals. Learn about meal prep - cutting, practicing valuable knife skills, & packaging meals.
