About your host

Our food tour of Little Italy in the Bronx has been featured on the cover of The New Yorker, on CNN Travel, USA Today's 10 Best, the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, the Washington Post, Mic, and more. I'm Danielle, a food and travel writer and my great-grandfather first opened his shop on Arthur Avenue in 1918. My husband Christian is a sommelier who has worked at a Michelin-star restaurant…

What we’ll do

I'll show you all the one-of-a-kind food shops of Little Italy in the Bronx—also known as Arthur Avenue. This enclave, unlike any other in the United States, has a concentration of small, family-owned Italian food shops and restaurants, most of which have been in business for one hundred years. For over two hours we’ll explore nearly a dozen food shops, including: butchers, bread bakers, pastry…

What else you should know

Wear comfortable shoes and bring an umbrella in case it’s raining. We’ll be walking about four square blocks, going in and out of food shops.

What I’ll provide

Food
6 different tastings Samples equivalent to a small to medium sized lunch
