What you'll do
(Ages 10+ welcome)
Strap into some snowshoes and explore a Strato-Volcano like never before! This experience gets up-close and personal to the snow covered vistas and bluffs of Mt. Hood, while snowshoeing and exploring the serene Trillium Lake. During the hike we will snowshoe through silent old growth forest, and travel right up to the lakes frozen edge. Here we will rest as guests can take breathtaking photos of the lake with Mt. Hood as the backdrop, before snowshoeing back to the trailhead. After our snowy adventure we will cruise a short distance into Government Camp, the highest elevation community on Mt. Hood. Here guests have the opportunity to grab some grub and a good drink at the decades old Mt. Hood Brewing Company (all ages welcome). After guests have satisfied their appetites, we will travel back to Portland.
Other things to note
Guests should expect winter weather conditions. If you do not have winter gear (coat, hat, pants, and so on), but would still like to join, please send us a message and we will help you sort it out! We have some gear available to borrow, and some gear can be rented locally.

As a lifelong local, I’ve spent my days exploring the natural world and advancing my skills in the backcountry. I took this passion to new heights by studying Earth and Environmental Science at WSUV, and obtaining medical certifications in Wilderness First Response. I founded Stök Outfitters with the goal of providing a safe, fun and informative bridge between city life and the great outdoors for members of all socioeconomic backgrounds and physical abilities, with emphasis on underrepresented groups. I believe that mankind’s love for nature transcends all social and political biases, and that we are strengthened through our diversity. I welcome all those who seek to draw closer to our wildlands and wish to enrich their lives through adventure and exploration. Let’s put the Stök in your Northwest adventure!

Manuel was awesome. He was able to accommodate our requested date and we wound up with a private tour! He allowed my friend and me to travel at our own, very different speeds, which was important to us and made our trip very personable. He picked a great trail and secluded resting area that I would have never picked on my own. Overall great tour and highlight of our trip!

Manuel ran an amazing experience! He's extremely knowledgeable and prepared for the entire trip and made everyone feel welcome and enthusiastic about the day ahead! From his unique background about his knowledge of nature and the parts we were visiting to his ability to keep the group organized and informed, his experience was clearly the most memorable portion of my recent trip to the Portland area. An experience that I would recommend to anyone and everyone!
