A new public space named after one of Belfast's most famous writers, CS Lewis, has been officially opened. The square has been built at the intersection of the Connswater and Comber Greenways. CS Lewis The opening last Tuesday evening marked the anniversary of the author's death in 1963. Seven permanent sculptures based on characters from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe were unveiled. A new bridge which has opened in east Belfast has been named in honour of local actor Jimmy Ellis The bridge is part of a new section of the Greenway linking CS Lewis Square and Victoria Park. It includes 1.4km of new cycle and walkway as well as play areas and public art.
