We live in an 1895 Victorian top flat with 12 foot ceilings on the best block in San Francisco. Our calendar is always up to date. Location Location Location~ Our home is close to the Mission, Lower Haight, and 2.5 blocks from the Castro theater. The underground is 3 blocks away, with a street car even closer. The room is small and cosy, but a great price for one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the US! Please fill out your profile if you are interested~and make sure to arrange a time to meet prior to your arrival, I lead a busy lifestyle, work full time, and wouldn't want to miss anyone! Check in is at 5 and we are 37 steps up from street level. Restaurants are plentiful and beautiful Dolores Park is quite close. Your room has a twin day bed 75 inches long with a desk and a solid door. The room is 9.25 feet by 8 feet. Amenities include wireless and a gorgeous full kitchen. For all you foodies out there BiRite Creamery, Tartine, Delfina's Pizza and Proper are within 4.5 blocks of our front door. Michelin rated Range is just a few farther. As much as we love bikes, and we do, we don't have space for storage. If you rent one please return it at the end of the day or lock up on the street at your own risk. Please ask if you would like to have a friend for a short visit.
  • Brenda is lovely and a thoughtful host. Her dog Boo and cat Moo Moo are very sweet and well behaved. The room was perfect for a solo traveller exploring San Francisco.

  • Great room in a great location. Brenda made me feel right at home!

    Ben2013-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • I had a fantastic time staying at Brenda’s place in Castro. The room is beautifully set up and very homely. Brenda is fantastic to talk to and is very knowledgeable of the local area. She has also taken the time to create a guide to the best local eateries which were fabulous. Her cat and dog are very cute and stick to Brenda like glue if you’re not a big pet’s person. I would highly recommend staying with Brenda.

  • Very nice

    Haisheng2018-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda is great, I arrived earlier than expected and stayed a day longer! She was incredibly flexible and accommodating to the changing needs of my business trip.

    Jonathan2011-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda is a lovely host! She was very flexible with the check in and was also easy to contact. More important, she was very nice to chat with and will help you with any question you might have. Brenda's pets are really sweet and well behaved, so in case this would hold you back, don't worry! You probably won't find another option with such GREAT location! I would definitely stay with Brenda again!

    Tom2013-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Brenda's place was great, besides the location could not be better. I loved the Castro area and it is also near Mission which more than a plus. She is nice, attentive and ready to help you, she is someone prepared to receive hosts, she has all the maps, ideas and a list with restaurants near by her place, some are great. I just loved her pets, her dog is so sweet, so sweet! I had a great time in San Francisco and at Brenda's place if you are traveling to San Francisco a truly recommend staying at Brenda's place.

    Patricia2014-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • I was looking for a spot in a nice neighbourhood (with good coffee& wifi joints around, but also good connections for venturing out to explore SF) as a base for my 3 day stay there.. and Perfectly Located Castro was, well... perfect! Brenda was lovely, extremely helpful and friendly. I really appreciated her hospitaliy and personal recommendations of places around the neighbourhood, which offers so much in terms of eateries and cool shops. The flat is beautiful, and the room, very comfortable. It has great character, very cosy and clean. Location wise, it's a nice (and I felt very safe) walk down to the very cool Mission Dolores and Valencia street. Public transport links are also very good for venturing afar. In sum, I had a really fun stay - thanks Brenda! PS. For anyone who tays here in the future, I would definitely recommend starting your visit with a climb up corona hill, which is just a short walk away and give you a perfect panorama of the city.

  • The studio was in a great location, close to Cortland Ave. and shops and restaurants. The studio was comfortable and roomy. The furniture was old but certainly usable and enough for storage, etc. The kitchen had all of the necessary items. The adjacent parking was free and very much appreciated. We enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

    Kevin2013-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • First of all, the space is lovely, lovely, lovely. Very comfortable and clean. The bed was very comfy, just the right firmness. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. Mike and Nic were perfect hosts - they responded to messages quickly, were flexible with our late arrival, let us know where to reach them if we had questions. I wish we could have stayed longer...

    Stephanie2015-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • I had an amazing time staying at Mike's place . Mike was prompt with his response and approved my request within 5 mins ! Very easy going and friendly host who ensures you are comfortable during the stay .

    Celestine2017-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the apt for 18 days. It was perfect location for us, near our friends. Our hosts were great, there to answer questions but never bothering us. We had a problem with the fridge (caused by me) and Mike came and got the problem solved right away. On our next trip to San Francisco we would certainly stay there again.

    Douglas2012-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Mike and Nic's studio was the perfect place to stay during mine and my husband's trip to San Francisco! The location is great, as it is close to downtown and many other popular places to visit, in addition to being a short walk from many good restaurants. Being in a residential neighborhood, it really gives you the feel of what it's like to actually live in San Francisco. We also liked that the street parking around the place was free and there was plenty of it. The studio is very spacious and has all of the amenities you could need. We had a terrific stay and are looking forward to hopefully staying at Mike and Nic's place again in the future!

    Kara2012-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great house, great location. Place looks exactly as the pictures. Although we didn't meet Mike, Nice was a pleasure to deal with. Would come back here again

    Joel2014-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I had a very enjoyable stay. We felt very at home in the cosy apartment. Mike and Nic were both very friendly and were there if we needed anything. The apartment is very nicely decorated, very clean and has everything you would need. Very nice location close to Bernal Heights park which has amazing views of San Francisco. We didn't rent a car immediately but had no problems using the easily accessible public transport and when we did rent a car parking was not a problem. Would definitely stay again and have no problems recommending it.

One bedroom sanctuary with a beautiful garden view and cozy fireplace. Comes with it's own entrance just steps from bus lines, train and all that Haight Street has to offer. Complete privacy with a separate bedroom, bathroom, and breakfast bar.
If you want to be within walking distance to Golden Gate Park, Haight St, Buena Vista Park, and Cole Valley, this is the spot. Full size bed in the bedroom with 400 thread count sheets and a pull-out twin in the living room. Just installed fireplace and large screen tv makes hanging out fun in the comfortable living room. Bathroom has a shower within the tub and white fluffy towels.
You will hear from many that this is the best neighborhood in SF. I chose this area for the many Victorian homes, the ease of mass transit, the walkability, and the abundance of parks, restaurants, and nightlife nearby. As a recent transplant to this area I can tell you that the stores, coffee shops, restaurants, and pubs are great here. I forget I have a car most of the time! Street parking is easy except for Wednesday 8-10 due to street cleaning.
  • Sara was very helpful both in helping me get settled and in dealing with a problem that my daughter had, in spite of it being fairly late when this arose. To me the photos made it look bigger than it is so it was adequate but not exactly roomy. I didn't really focus on the fact that there was a toaster oven not a microwave so the ability to cook anything was more limited than I was expecting.

    Naomi2015-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • The host was nice and the place was fabulous, it even came with a resident dog! Overall great experiance.

    Kayla2014-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed Sara's garden retreat! It was charming, comfortable and clean. It was lovely to have access to the beautiful garden as well. I look forward to staying here again!

    Torrey2015-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • We were greeted by Sara's daughter and Boo, their dog. Sydney showed us the private entrance and a tour of the retreat. The property is very secluded with a view of an outdoor backyard with lawn, trees and privacy. The apartment itself is beautifully appointed with an instruction booklet fo the TV, heater and other items. Centrally located, we walked to Cole valley for breakfast at a great little Boulangerie. The Ashbury Market provides wine and incidentals plus a local pharmacy. We will be back for sure. Great location, great space and a wonderful host.

    Mark2014-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Sara's home is beautiful and looks better than the pictures! The location is minutes away from anywhere in the city via bus or train. Although it is close to the hustle, her place was tranquil and quiet as soon as you shut the door. We loved the big windows looking out into the backyard. Sara was very easy to contact and even set up the fireplace for us while we were out on a chilly day. I would recommend Sara's home to anyone visiting San Francisco!

    Andrea2014-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Sara's apartment is great! Very confortable and clean, i was feeling like home. Location is great for visiting golden gate park (walking distance) and very calm and safe. Sara was very nice and flexible. Go for it!

    Anna2014-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect ending to a wonderful San Francisco vacation for me and my son and daughter. Her place is exactly what the pictures indicate and at the back of her beautiful Victorian home-so very quite. Slept with windows opened. Sara was a wonderful hostess. If I go back to SF- will contact her to stay again. We really did not want to leave.

    Sheila2014-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in Sarah’s place. Great space and location, and Sarah was responsive and helpful! Would definitely stay again.

  • Beautiful space in a very central location. Jeffrey responded to all of my questions and requests almost instantly. Extremely easy to get around from here. Would definitely stay here in the future!

    Ankan2018-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff and Mike made everything so easy when staying at their excellent accommodation. The room itself is lovely with a fantastic bathroom. Pacific Heights is a great area to stay with plenty of food & drink choices nearby, particularly on California & Fillmore. Jeff was the perfect host, providing everything we needed before we reached San Francisco, taking in our bags early so we could enjoy our first day, pointing out all the great places to go within the area and beyond and letting us stay on a little longer than the check out time. Would stay nowhere else if returning to this beautiful city.

    Tony2015-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderfull stay in SF. The room/bathroom was very nice and clean. The house is located in a very good neighborhood. Jeff & Mike were very helpfull. We would definitely stay there again.

    Michael2015-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed staying at Mike and Jeffrey's beautiful private ensuite. The location was absolutely perfect and close to a lot of great nearby restaurants, bars, and parks. I was only there for 1 night, but had an amazing experience. The directions to the apartment and instructions to get in were very well explained ahead of time. The room was very clean and inviting (the bed was also very comfortable). All around, I'd say it was a fantastic Air BNB experience, and I would absolutely recommend this room to any solo or coupled traveler.

    James2016-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot in a great area!

    Justin2017-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Jeff's place. He made us feel welcome even before we arrived by allowing us to check in early due to our early flight. Upon arrival Jeff was super informative with lots of local restaurant and sight-seeing destination recommendations. The room itself is spacious and just as described. Lots of light from the bathroom skylight and very private. Staying here felt like staying at a tiny hotel because of the quality of the room and the freedom we had. In addition to the great room, the neighborhood is happening. With CO2 Ice cream just down the block and many amazing shops and food within walking distance. If you are on the fence about staying here, do it! I would recommend staying here to anyone.

Relax around the fire pit on the private patio at this garden Craftsman studio. Smooth concrete, edison bulb lighting, and chunky furniture create an industrial look, while the open-plan layout keeps things relaxed and comfortable.
This studio promises to absolutely take your breath away upon first sight. Cool and romantic, carefully decorated and recently renovated by master architects; the space gives you plenty of room to breath while still retaining a sense of invigorating calm. Abundantly spacious with the addition of our beautiful back garden and shack - this home guarantees the stay of a life time.
The Outer Richmond holds all of the excitement of San Francisco while retaining a low-key feel. Nowhere else has unique and delicious eateries, a surfers' beach, museums, parks, hiking, and historical sites all within close walking distance.
  • Joshua's place is the perfect place from which to explore San Francisco - all the well-known spots and better yet, the not-so-well-known spots - better than advertised - a real find!

    Heather2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place in a lovely quiet neighborhood close to Ocean Beach. My parents loved staying here. The place looks exactly like the photos. I highly recommend staying here.

    Hope2016-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place is really nice, however I didn't realize it was in a basement with people living upstairs so we had to be quiet by 10 o'clock and you could hear everything both ways. The place was lovely but just didn't suit our needs as well as planned.

    Jenny2017-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and modern.. Joshua is definitely a Super Host!

    Spencer2016-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our weekend at Josh and Lizzy's home was fantastic. The space is beautifully furnished (as shown in the photos) and had many amenities. We made us of the full kitchen, dining room, and comfy beds. Best of all was the back yard - we sat out side and read, had a glass of wine - it was California at its best. Parking on the street worked out fine; the street and immediate neighborhood are not much of an attraction, but its just a few blocks to the beach, Lands End, and Golden Gate park. Lizzy made us feel very welcome, and Josh followed up to make sure we had everything we needed. Great hosts!

    Adam2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely basement apartment! Close to the beach and golden gate park. Great hosts!

    Claire2017-01-19T00:00:00Z

Easy access to everything in the Bay Area, great neighbors, excellent restaurants, coffee houses nearby. Easy to walk, bicycle and enjoy our usually great weather.
  • Chris and Barbara are such nice people! We arrived pretty early in Oakland and it wasn't a problem for them to let us checkin early. The same flexibility with the checkout. Our flight home was in the late afternoon and since we didn't want to drag our large suitcases along to explore Oakland, we could just leave them in the cottage until we left for the airport. That made things so much easier for us! Also, we loved the little cottage! The interior is bright, welcoming and clean with a very comfy bed. There was just everything we needed. Even a heater since it does get a little cold in the evenings. The place is just a 10-minute walk away from the Transbay bus station to San Francisco or 20 minutes away from the McArthur Station to catch a "bart"-train to the SFO airport. To sum it up we really enjoyed the hospitality and the place. We would love to come back again someday!

    Huong2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Ideal for the end of a long trip, this little backyard house is a lovely private bed with shelves of good books and a sun-lit patio just outside. Bathroom is private, just inside the house as described! Spent four nights here and saw lots of Oakland by foot. Close to Berkeley!

    Remy2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Barbara’s cottage is exactly as it is pictured. In a nice neighborhood where you can park your car on the street. It is also within walking distance to take the Bart to San Fran or Oakland. Cottage was stylish with a very comfortable bed. Felt safe there while sleeping. Chris was there to meet us as we met Barbara at night time. Both were beyond friendly and always replied to a message quickly. Shower is inside the house and can use the kitchen if needed. We were out most of the time until the night but felt like going home because of the care and kindness of Chris and Barbara. Thank you again, we recommend this place 100% for others.

    Stephen2018-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • It is as described. You are only a 10-15 minute walk to 2 BART stations which opens up all of SF and surrounds. Bus route at the top of the street. Hosts are great. There if you need them. Really enjoyed the stay.

    Stuart2018-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • This quaint little cottage is perfect!!! Location is very centralized. A post office & shopping center were 5 minutes away. The cottage itself is just like the pictures. Serene & relaxing. I didn't mind going inside the house to use kitchen or bathroom. Chris, Barbara, and family were very pleasant. We shared various hosting stories:-)

    Np2014-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Barbara were very kind and considerate. They aim to keep a private place for their guests and that was our experience exactly. They were informative and chatty. We had everything the listing promised. Though the bathroom is separate from the cottage, I was not bothered- it was just a little chilly scampering inside in the middle of the night! The cottage is equip with direct tv and wifi. The bed is comfortable and room enough for two. A space heater is also provided which was nice on the chillier nights. Overall, we would absolutely stay with them again!

This beautiful two bedroom/one bath apartment is located in the Castro/Duboce Triangle and in walking distance to Upper and Lower Haight, NOPA, and the Mission. Lot's of transportation, corner stores, grocery stores, and fantastic restaurants are in walking distance. If you come with car, street parking is quite easy here but it is restricted. However, there is paid parking around the corner at the hospital garage and there is also a street nearby where you can park your car for a week.
What I love most about the apartment is how truly bright it is. Big windows allow for lot's of natural lighting. The space is quite big (for San Francisco standards) with a nice large kitchen for cooking and socializing. The guest room is facing the back which is quiet and shielded from street noise.
The neighborhood is quiet and safe with cute little streets, beautiful houses and lot's of parks. And if you are in the mood for entertainment you only need to walk a few block to find great places to eat and drink and people watch.
  • Anka was very nice and easy to communicate with, answered immediately and helped us a lot. The room and the apartment were wonderful, clean and quiet, teh bed super comfy, yet only a few steps away from bars, cafe´s, public transport and supermarkets. We did not see Anka so much as we were mainly out about town, but when we met she gave us helpful tipps and it was great to chat with her about her experiences.

    Jana2014-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • We felt very welcomed by both Anka and resident puppy, Milo throughout the entire stay. We were greeted with a handy and helpful notebook full of recommended nearby places to go. Great space to stay and centrally located around some fantastic San Francisco restaurants and bars. Comfortable bed. Would definitely stay here again!

  • We spent 3 nights at Anka's place,it was a great first Airbnb experience! The apartment is clean, spacious and cozy. The bed was so comfy! We could use a washer and dryer for our clothes, that we really appreciated! The location is great, the neighbourhood is quiet and close to the Castro, the Mission, and a lot of public transportation. Anka's a really nice host, quiet and respectful. We would definitely recommand her appartment!

  • A very comfortable stay. Plenty of storage space in (Website hidden by Airbnb) location for public transit, restaurants and night life. And the best part: Milo...best dog host ever!

  • Wonderful apartment with excellent food recommendations. Was lovely enough to let us use her kitchen so we could make our own food as well. We had a great stay

  • Great location, comfortable, clean, gorgeous accommodation. Highly recommended. Lovely host as well :-)

  • Anka's apartment is well located for someone who wants to sleep well after a big day of sightseeing. Public transportation nearby, a super comfortable bed and everything you need to feel at home. A convenience store on the corner of the street with everything you need to spend the day, sandwiches, croissants, fresh squeezed juices, fresh fruit, coffee. Anka is very discreet. We didnt get to see each other much. I highly recommend One of my best trips! San Francisco, a beautiful city that is easily discovered by bicycle, bus or cable car. Do not miss to go to the Palace of Fine Arts and rent a bike for the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito and come back on the ferry. A road trip not to be missed: explore the coast to McWay Falls in Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park. Worth the trip. Landscapes breathtaking! Wonderful memories!

  • Anka is fabulous! Her place is gorgeous and immaculately clean. The bedroom was lovely and spacious with great storage, tv and a small couch. Getting there and arranging a time was simple and Anka was always helpful and easily contacted. The neighbourhood felt really safe and quiet with coffee shops (The Mill), corner deli and a great mini supermarket (Bi-Rite) with queues for ice-cream streaming onto the footpath - all in walking distance. This was my first Airbnb stay and a great experience. I would definitely stay there again when I go back to SF Thanks Anka!!

  • This GREAT place is located on a very quiet street near Duboce Park and walking distance (5 minutes) to delicious restaurants and cool shops as well as close to public transportation. Stephen & Brian are amazing hosts. Their house is comfortable, warm & inviting like them. Great views from the kitchen. Comfortable bed, I slept like a rock! Beautiful view from my window of the Sun coming up... great way to start the day. I would highly recommend staying here and meeting this great guys.

  • Stephen and Brian's place is in a great location! Very cool San Fransisco home. They have great touches such as brochures and trivia about SF. They were also very quick to respond and easy to communicate with.

    Ashley2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen's place is in a beautiful area which offers perfect insight into how it is to live in San Francisco! Lots of restaurants, bars, and little shops in close proximity (walking and by bus/tram).

    Hannah2018-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute room and a great location. Right near a nice park and places to eat, and not far from public transportation. The hosts were very quick in responding and had lots of brochures and maps available for you to look at!

    Amanda2018-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Warm, communicative and wellcoming home to stay at in San Fransisco. Brian and Stephen are great hosts, and can share a lot of the city’s history. Great, very beautiful and calm home and neighbourhood close to famous venues.

    Charlotte2018-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • The place was in a great safe and quiet neighbourhood. Bed was super comfy and plenty of room. It took a while to figure out the taps in the shower but apart from that it was ok.

    Monique2019-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed it very much, Stephen and Brian helped us to get along in the city especially with the parking permits which worked out very fine and we got some great advices where to go and what to eat. Close by is the metro but I can recommend the advice of Stephen to take the Ford bikes they are just perfect and pricy, really great place to explore the whole city!

    Janine2018-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really lovely stay at Stephen and Brian’s place. They are so warm and welcoming and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. We loved the extensive and eclectic book collection and the cats were adorable. Brian gave us lots of great tips and told plenty of interesting stories and we really enjoyed talking to him. It’s just such a shame we only had a couple of nights there as we’d have liked to talk more! The room is lovely - the bed was extremely comfortable. The neighbourhood is perfect in that it’s quiet for getting plenty of sleep but close to lots of cool bars and cafes. There’s also a park at the end of the street. We would definitely recommend. Thanks so much for everything Stephen and Brian!

  • The place is wonderful. The only downside is the location which is pretty far away from downtown San Francisco (and Uber is not super cheap). But, the room is extremeley tidy and the whole apartment is clean. Perfect place to rest after spend the day sightseeing.

    Carine2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place to stay, it is true to its description. Very clean, and there is a daily professional cleaning of the 2 shared bathrooms (which was no (Email hidden by Airbnb) es with clean towels. The bunk beds are comfortable, and the rooms are a tight space, but are just what you need to rest in between travel activities. There is a shared kitchen, and guests are able to store necessities and make coffee/tea as if they were in their own home. We got to meet our hosts too and they are kind, honest, and helpful family-oriented people.

    Isabella2017-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place was really nice. Impeccably clean, easy check in, and the local area was very nice. Would definitely come back!

    Adrian2018-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Even though the place is not directly in the heart of San Francisco everything was easy to reach via Muni or other public transportation. If you like to go to the beach, Ocean Beach is not far away and you could walk there. I walked nearly everything from their apartment. It was awesome that the place has two bathrooms so at least one is always free to use. Furthermore the bathrooms as well as the room itself were really clean and tidy. The room included towels to use as well as a TV with Netflix. So even on a rainy day you could watch some series until the rain ends and head to San Francisco. Check-in and communication was easy and very fast. Responses from Daniel were always very fast and included every information needed. I would go there again if I come back to San Francisco!

    Ngoc2017-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • The location was safe and peaceful. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The decor was new, neat and homely. Bathrooms are shared but it was cleaned daily. There were sufficient things provided for us in our room and the main area for us to feel comfortable. Host was friendly and got back to us asap when there was a problem with the power circuit one day. However, sounds can be heard easily through the walls but it was thoughtful of the hosts to provide guests with free ear plugs. Overall, I recommend this place to those who wish to visit San Francisco :)

    Margaret Justine2018-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Je and Derren were very sweet, polite, and responsive. The space was extremely clean and everything was new. My friend and I loved the neighborhood too—quiet but with a short walk to plenty of restaurants and a short Uber ride to everything else. Je and Derren provided a notebook with recommendations which we utilized and were happy with! One thing to note is that the common area is very small (just the kitchen) so there is nowhere to hang out at the Airbnb. Overall, it was a very positive experience.

    Amy2018-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place! Stay here if you get the chance. The place was extremely clean and updated with modern finishes. It was centrally located, so it did not take us long to get anywhere. The street we stayed on is super quiet, but still close to everything we needed. We were also able to park for free on the street right outside. Je & Derren greeted us when we checked in, showed us around, and made themselves available to us during our stay. Their guidebook and tips were a great touch as we used them to find places to eat. Overall, great stay!

    Rachel2018-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Je & Derren were FABULOUS hosts! They greeted us at the check-in and showed us around their beautiful little home. The only downsides were the size of the home (which we did not expect) and the noise level. In the photo, it looked like the beds were full size because it was stretched out, the beds are actually twin sized. The room is a shared space with other airbnb guests (which is fine), but some of them did not respect the open space and were quite loud and rude. But if you're okay with a smaller room and a louder space because you'll be out and about for the most part, this is the place for you! Great amenities, cool new renovations and very well kept.

  • We arrived at the Garden Suite after a very long journey from the UK. It's in a quite residential area and has everything you need for a flying visit including a very comfy bed which was very welcome as we were really tired when we arrived late in the evening. The location was perfect for us and we found some really excellent restaurants a couple of blocks away on Geary, which is also where you pick up buses into the City. Linda pretty much left us too it, which is the way we like it, but was most helpful when we needed it. A great stay, thanks Linda!

  • My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Garden Suite. It is located 1 1/2 blocks from Golden Gate Park which allowed us to walk to the or take public transportation everywhere we went. Linda was easy to communicate with and we would stay here again.

  • My parents stayed in the garden suite during a recent visit and loved it! Everything was just like we expected, and very clean and comfortable. Linda is a wonderful host and answered all of my questions right away. The patio is a quiet place to sit and relax, and the keyless entry is very convenient! This was our first Airbnb experience, and we will definitely be back!

    Mason2014-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • The unit was great and very clean, and was exactly how it was described. I liked that the unit was separate, which made it comfortable to come and go as I pleased. This location has 2 different units and on my last night there, some other guests had occupied the second unit. There was no issue and I didn't even see the other guests, but the units are separated by a door and they tended to be a bit loud at some times.

This is a cozy private room w/ a full bed (and optional twin air mattress upon request) and flat screen TV w/ free Netflix. You get to use kitchen during your stay (fridge, microwave, stove/oven, dishes, coffee, etc.) and 2 bathrooms (kitchen & bathrooms shared w/ other guests). You'll have free/easy street parking, be a quick 14 min drive from SFO, 3 min walk to T train (which takes you downtown and AT&T Park), and a 13 min drive to downtown and AT&T Park. You'll be in the heart of it all! :)
Please note that while your rooms are 100% private with a lock on it that only you will have, you will be sharing the kitchen and two bathrooms with three other Airbnb rooms. This is part of the fun though as you can meet different people from around the world who are staying here with you. Access to the kitchen and bathrooms is usually fine as most people spend the majority of their time out and about in the city, but sometimes during peak travel times you may feel the house being a little more full. So to be very clear, you will see several other Airbnb guests in the home who are living close to you (the nature of such a dense city as San Francisco) and sharing the kitchen and bathrooms, but as you can see in the reviews that my guests have loved their time here as people are usually very friendly and respectful. Also please note that the skylight above you is the only window access in this room.
  • Amazing place to stay! Would come again! The house and rooms are lovely and clean, and downtown SF is only 20 minute train away.

  • Sean was truly a great host. He was very responsive and did everything he could to make our stay better. We had a few complaints (the bathroom had some plumbing issues, the walls weren't totally separate so we could hear every little word and whisper from the tenants next to us and a few other little problems) I still think Sean deserves the 5 stars. For a place in San Francisco, it was truly a great deal.

    Sam2017-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • this was a great room for the price and the host was super helpfull and nice . he gave great directions. The only thing like everyone else has mentioned is there was 2 bathrooms for i believe 4 or 5 rooms with 2 people each room .

    Mayly2017-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place at a good price. Very clean and the host was a great communicator!

    Racheal2017-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • great hospitality and value

    Vincent2018-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • This review is in no way, shape, or form intended to be detrimental, derisive, or critical of Sean and his family. Sean is VERY friendly & hospitable and his family is lovely. I mentioned to him that I was coming up to the Bay Area from L.A. for my birthday, and he was very accommodating. Check-in was a breeze. However, I'd have to echo the sentiments of the other reviewers about the faults of this room (& generally about the home), & somewhat about it's location herein. Firstly, the room is totally overpriced as I paid in excess of three figures for a room that shouldn't be worth more than $50 per night in my experience (I reserve rooms with ABNB three times per week & have gotten MUCH greater value for MUCH less money in the recent past). Being that I'm unfamiliar with Frisco, I relied heavily on the location of the home shown on the ABNB map, and the pictures (which, in hindsight, were a little misleading) in making my decision to reserve. Also, I don't believe the expensive room rate had been previously addressed by other guests as being excessive or abusive. However, my personal experience led me to believe otherwise. Secondly, the place is small & felt very overcrowded. There seemed to be multiple people in other single occupant rooms. There were wait times for restroom usage, and the bathroom smelled of urine. Ultimately, I discovered that the toilet had been clogged. Lastly, being from Harlem, NYC originally, I know a "sketchy" neighborhood when I'm in one, but that doesn't concern nor scare me because I know how to conduct myself in such locations. You shouldn't be fearful here either (unless you grew up in completely soft, sheltered, & isolated environments, you're the type to allow your stereotypes to inform your beliefs & control your mood). The few people that I did encounter on the street said "Good Morning" to me as I was preparing to leave. That's more than I can say for the folks in my gated community in Las Vegas. There are good people here. It's Frisco after all (a.k.a. Brooklyn West). The room itself was hot, but the host provided a small fan. That bed wasn't that comfy, but I did get a decent night's sleep. There was no T.V. in the room. There's only one 3 pronged outlet in the room that I could find. It's a very old house. The ironing board is attached to a wall in the kitchen. In conclusion if you get this room, don't overpay. I understand & agree with hosts getting as much money as they possibly can to host someone, but pricing needs to be commensurate with location, amenities, creature comforts, weather, number of guests to utilities/facilities ratio, & parking availability. It should not be derived simply from rate comps in the area nor arbitrarily due to the day of the week (I checked in an Friday). In conclusion, I paid a whole lot...

    Luis2017-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed over at Sean's place for two nights and had a pleasant stay. All the basic amenities were available to us along with a kitchen space. The host was very accommodating to our needs and quick with communication. I would definitely recommend Sean's place to anyone.

  • There was a lot of bathroom traffic but we enjoyed our privacy and our stay nonetheless! Sean was very attentive and he seems to have thought of every detail!

The Studio has a private deck for customers for relaxation and a private library full of French books to explore(educational, culture, politic, etc). I am a French teacher in San Francisco.
The 24th street is half a block away and has tone of shops, shops and couple of bars included sport bars. There is a Walgreen store on 24th and Castro, four blocs down. Bank of America and WellsFargo are located on 24th street, between Castro and Noe. There is a WholeFood store between Noe and Sanchez.

  • Great place! Stocked for a comfortable stay and Arcene does all he can to make it easy. We slept well in the bed and loved the apartment.

    Spencer2018-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you being a fantastic host! The apartment was easy to find and instructions for getting in were clear. It was spotlessly clean everywhere in the apartment!! The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had plenty of amenities. It was a tad cold as it doesn’t get the sun on it but we were provided with heaters which made it the perfect temperature. Highly recommend this apartment overall!!

    Sam2018-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Arcene was a nice host. His place is small but it does not feel small, with a very large and comfortable bed and nice-sized bathroom. The wireless also worked very well and it has a full kitchen. No complaints about the place at all. The only downside is the very steep hill...The nearest Muni bus line is close, but even from there it's a tough walk back home :). Otherwise all is well. I'd love to stay here again next time I'm in the city. Thanks Arcene!

    James2016-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great space, it is very comfortable and cozy and Arcene made the whole process really easy. The apartment was very clean and organized. It was easy to get to, and close enough to walk places but not right in the center of the city where it would be loud and crowded. Arcene is very responsive and helpful and makes the whole process very easy.

  • Great studio in the best neighborhood, Noe valley is beautiful!!. Kind neighbors, Parking was always easy in the street. I stayed here a week with my husband and child and would definitely stay here again!

    Florencia2017-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • My first airbnb experience! Arcene made the entire process very smooth, so smooth I thought I was missing something perhaps! Cozy homey spot, very clean, all the amenities you could possibly want or need. Fantastic bathroom and kitchen, and the deck was ideal for quietly enjoying some wine and a book. The location is interesting--the negative is it is on a rather steep hill (toughen up your calves!) and not near the most convenient Muni-options (though there are bus stops very nearby). The positive is that the scenery from outside the building and especially up the hill is spectacular, very San Francisco! And if you have a car, it's actually easier to park at this location than many other flatter spots around town (no parallel!). Great coffee spots/restos/shops/bars on 24th down the hill. Merci, Arcene!

    Joel2017-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Perfectly sized cozy room for two in a quiet neighborhood. Kitchen is fully equipped and the bathroom is nice and new. Arcene's place was clean and he left little thoughtful notes for us all over the apartment. Lovely walk downhill to little boutiques and restaurants in noe valley but a challenge to climb up (apt is on an extremely steep hill). About 15min lyft to downtown san francisco. Would recommend.

  • If I had to choose between great hosts and great apartment, I would choose the first. But imagine if you would not have to make compromise and you could have both hosts and a wonderful place to live. Actually, there is no need to imagine this scenario: simply contact Graciela and Carlos. I can only reinforce what is already written in previous reviews: Graciela and Carlos are a wonderful couple who will do everything in their power to make your stay as comfortable as possible in their studio(s). As a matter of fact, my impression is that they will gladly run the extra mile in order to help. The apartment is one of the best ones I have ever lived in (and I have lived in many apartments and houses throughout 10 countries of Europe and Asia). I know where I will want to stay next time I come to San Francisco. To wrap it up, I can wholeheartedly recommend any of their apartments (even though I lived in only one). By having great and caring hosts like Graciela and Carlos, the only thing you need to "worry about" is to enjoy your stay in this wonderful city.

  • I enjoyed my stay in San Francisco. The unit was well appointed with high-end amenities and all the creature comforts you could want while traveling. The high tech parking facilitiy was a huge bonus.

    Maureen2017-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful hosts, great apartment. Best thing about it is that Carlos and Graciela were very available if I needed anything and very helpful at check-in. The best Air bnb experience I've had so far!

    Heather2018-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • When you have great hosts, everything else falls in place. Carlos and Graciela were easily accessible when there was a need and made sure my stay was smooth. The studio apartment was clean and well equipped with all the amenities and was perfect for my stay.

    Ravi2017-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • It was great staying at your studio for ~3 weeks. It's a great location, close to everything, but still quiet and comfortable indoors.

  • Carlos is a great host! He gives a proper and thorough orientation to the building and the condo! He shows you how to access the “other” building, and I’m so glad he did! One day the elevator was closed to the garage for “moving” and I had to enter the other building to get into the garage to get my car. I wouldn’t have known what to do if Carlos hadn’t shown me that other buildings access to the garage (there is no on sight office here as it’s not an apartment complex). The place was white glove clean! I love the decor! Carlos was quick to respond to any communication efforts. I would love to stay here again!

  • We had an excellent stay here -it was exactly as described, and Graham was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. He made us feel right at home and very welcome right from the start. The room was spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. The room and bathroom also felt very private. A great place, in a vibrant location.

  • Graham was really nice and accommodating. His place is convenient and his parking space was such a plus. Room and bath were well done with lots of space. He made things easy for me to stay I enjoyed and will come back again

  • The place is down a small lane with the garage and front door. When you drive in the area, it looks very dicey but when you get out it's San Fran. There's 15,000 homeless people and most just sleep on the street and in the parks. America can send a man to the moon and spend billions bombing foreign lands BUT can't look after it's own people. The room is downstairs with a little area outside the sliding door, it has a bathroom next door. It's a shame it doesn't have a TV but we were out until 9.30 pm everynight. The shower and bed were great and we had a great sleep. The Bart is only 10mins away which takes you straight into town, then a good walk to Fisherman's Wharf or get the cable car( $7 each trip). We got a good discount on the bus tours for 2 days. Don't use Big Bus, they're a rip off. We used Gray Line and with the discount were half price. Everything you want is along the Wharf. All the Bus Co's are there. It's the only way to see San Fran. There was this guy flogging tours for Gray Line but we said we are going up to Big Bus, then he offered us a great discount for 2 days . It comes with walking tours and a night tour. They are great for free, especially the night tour. God, how does anyone drive around there, it's bloody manic. Coming back at night is OK, there's plenty of people around. Didn't get to talk to Graham much as he was there to meet us but left soon after. The kitchen is good but we never used it. Remember to book Alcatraz online a couple of days before, it's hugely popular. There's plenty to see and do in San Fran but we were glad to get out. Enjoy !!

  • Graham's place was perfect. It provided more than we needed for our short, busy stay. He was also quite helpful in providing recommendations. We would definitely stay again.

    Trey2016-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, beautiful, stylish place -- super quiet. Loved snuggling with the cats. Thanks Graham!

    Erin2017-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome spot, beautiful private room and bath exactly as pictured and described. Super friendly kitties kept me company all night (I liked/wanted this). Sweet private outside space. Easy check-in/out, loved the Mission location on a very quiet street. Super convenient to BART station. This will be my go-to spot now when visiting SF!

    Jim2016-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Graham's listing is a great place to stay. Not only is the space huge, but the listing is also in walking distance of many Muni bus stops. I stayed here a week for work, and had everything I needed to make my stay welcoming. Kurya (the cat on the property) was very welcoming and friendly, always looking for attention. There is a TV mounted on the wall in the bedroom, which was a nice touch after a day at the office. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to San Francisco for work or pleasure - thanks again Graham!

    Nick2018-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Graham's place is in the heart of the Mission where we wanted to experience Mexican food for every meal because Hawaii doesn't have many authentic Mexican places to dine. Graham was easy to contact and communicate with and I recommend his place to anyone. A friendly gorgeous cat will greet you and we enjoyed it all.

Private bedroom in the heart of the Mission. The apartment is tucked away a few hundred feet from Valencia Street where you can find great food, music, and drinks. Enjoy our sunny back deck, amazing location, and great advice on enjoying SF.
We have an extra bedroom in our 3 bedroom apartment. The apartment is a couple blocks from Dolores Park and a ten minute walk from the 24th or 16th St. BART stations. We have a large back porch, solid internet, and no pets. We're all 30ish and enjoy hosting new guests. The apartment is tucked away from Valencia St. Valencia has tons of restaurants, bars, and music halls. You can find Ethiopian, Mediterranean, Japanese, 3 different types of Indian, authentic Chinese, Spanish Tapas, French, Brazilian, Senegalese, Italian, and Peruvian food all within a 5 minute walk of the apartment. It can get a little noisy on the weekends, or when the Giants win the World Series, or if Obama is / isn't elected president... You will have your own bathroom with a bathtub and shower. We usually go to bed pretty late, but the apartment is generally quiet by 10 or 11. There is a TV in the common room with local channels and Netflix. You're free to share the fridge and any kitchen utensils. We generally keep fancy Four Barrel or Ritual coffee in the kitchen for your brewing pleasure. The bedroom has a desk, full sized bed, and a cooshy chair.
So many amazing food and entertainment options within a few blocks of the apartment. There's nothing like a little picnic in Dolores park on a sunny weekend.
  • Chris and his wife and flat mate were really nice hosts! The room was good, clean and with a comfortable bed. The location is absolutely perfect with loads of restaurants and shops just around the corner and easy access to other parts of the city as well as the airport with public transport. Our only issue was that it was very noisy on the street outside the room one night (Sunday).

  • Great place, location and hosts. would stay here again.

    Victor2019-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • The best part about this place was location - we took Ubers everywhere we needed to go for pretty cheap, and it’s right next to lots of places to eat. The subway train was just a few blocks away, and there was a neat alleyway close by with tons of awesome street art. For the price, you’re not going to beat this location. Host and flatmate were nice as well. Chris let us store our luggage on check out day, which was very helpful to us (thanks!!). Have to be honest though - wasn’t too impressed with the room, bed wasn’t comfy and the “floor mattress” was a tiny single air mattress, plus there weren’t enough blankets and it was pretty dusty and the window was a tad frustrating... but we made it work. The house was nice and it was great to have our own bathroom (with lovely scented shampoo/soap included!). Overall - Okay spot to stay if you’re on a budget.

    Cristal2018-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay!! Chris, his wife and housemate were all really lovely, helpful and great to have a chat with. The location was perfect for my needs and i felt really comfortable in their home. Thanks for a great first BnB and San Fran stay. Loved it.

    Olivia2012-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Overall, this is a good place to stay and convenient with BART nearby. Room was clean and neat. However, the park across the street generates noise that some may find bothersome, and the alleyway to the house wasn't always comfortable to walk down (especially at night). While I experienced a few hiccups, the hosts quickly resolved them. Additionally, I was able to leave my things at their place after the official check-out time which made spending my last day in San Francisco much more convenient and comfortable. Thanks again!

    Bianca2019-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Chris's place is a gem in the Mission. I wished I could stay longer. I appreciated waking up in the morning to small children playing soccer at the playground across the alley. Walking a few hundred feet to Valencia for some coffee and specialty shopping. Seeing the sunset over SanFrancisco from Mission Dolores Park which is a few blocks away. Couldn't have asked for a better stay.

    Melodie2019-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and his wife got this lovely and cozy apartment in a very attractive neighborhood. They offered great accommodation in a very affordable price. Tiny but clean room with great privacy. They also gave me a lot of suggestion about my concern. I definitely will recommend their apartment and wish to visit again in the future.

    Xiang2017-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place in an awesome location for a great price. And Chris is very easy and quick to communicate with even when he's not there. I'd stay here again for sure.

My classic Victorian house is perfectly located in SoMa! A central neighborhood where the MOSCONE center, Downtown, Civic Center BART, Breweries, Coffee Roasters, Nightclubs & delicious Restaurants are all just 5 - 15mins walking distance, making it the perfect place for either buisness or adventure travelers! The house was recently remodeled and it has plenty of natural light. This is a calm and quiet place, where you can enjoy my daily aromatherapy which is great for rest and relaxation.
YOUR ROOM: • This beautiful room, has a Queen-size bed, soft cotton bedsheets, a desk, a comfortable reading chair, a closet with hangers and a small dresser, carpet, a heater, a full body mirror behind the door and a Homedics sounds canceling machine. It has been carefully decorated to offer you a space for you to relax and enjoy the sun thanks to its classic bay window, with plenty of natural light throughout the day. • If you are arriving before 3PM, No problem, you may use the garage to drop your belongings until anytime after 3PM check-in. And if you want to leave your luggage after 10AM check-out, feel also free to leave it in the garage for as long as you need as well :) • SELF CHECK-IN after 3pm is absolutely available. You don't need to wait for me to get inside the house. ** Go to Airbnb WEBSITE to find the DOORS CODES. You won't find them on the apps ** Please make yourself comfortable and at home. Ill happily give you a house tour if you want once I see you. • Once you are inside the house, look for the door that has your name on it :) • If you are a light sleeper, I recommend you to bring ear-plugs. The house is old so the insulation isn't the best. • Also, even though the house was recently remodeled, there are a few original parts that were kept, such as the door knobs. This means that the doors only lock from the inside. And even though there will be 3 other guests staying at the house, they will all be highly verified and evaluated by AirBnB registration policies. I have never had any issues with security. • There are 2 WiFi ports so you will have access throughout the house!
    • SoMa's multifaceted character brings together all sorts of people. Tech-savvy entrepreneurs rub elbows with well-read bohemian types, and museum curators share the sidewalks with ill-groomed individuals. • Most of the action can be found at: MOSCONE CENTER, SF MOMA and Yerba Buena gardens, Giants ballpark. SoMa, as it's known, sounds a little like a SoHo wannabe, and it does have a strong downtown vibe. Restaurants, Hip bars, clubs, and specialty coffee cafes are all around. • There is something I will like to bring up before any surprises. San Francisco is sadly recognized by the large amount of homeless on the streets. And even though 95% of them are harmless it is important to consider and acknowledge that this is a major problem all over the city. If you want to get more information regarding this issue there's a lot material on the Internet that you can read about. And if I can give you an advice about this matter, it would be to avoid the tenderloin, 5th, 6th and market streets on late hours (even thought during the 4 years I've been living in the city nothing bad has ever happened to me BUT, it's good to let you know so you don't feel insecure while walking around). The only thing I can promise you is that I'll try my best to keep the house clean and quiet so you can relax, rest and enjoy it.
  • This was my second stay at Maria's place, and Maria's as charming and hospitable as always. Her charm tends to rub off on all her guests, so staying here is an enjoyable feel-good experience. The rooms are comfortable, the shower hot, and she keeps food to share in the kitchen. (I particularly appreciate the fresh fruit.) The common area is comfortable and quiet. I expect I'll be staying here when I return next year.

    Richard2019-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Maria is an excellent host whose information that she provided was very helpful and accurate. The nearby restaurants, Rocco Italian and Basil Thai, served excellent meals. The location is quite close to the city centre. I had to adjust to the presence of the many street dwellers, but those I saw were benign. I found it fast to go to Moscone convention centre on the number 14 Munni bus that runs up and down Mission St; and paying using a Clipper card I bought in a BART station. Otherwise, the walk along Folsom street was pleasant.

    Mark2018-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Maria Jose's home is stunning! From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed with the calming scents of incense and greeted by Sequoia, her very friendly dog. The room itself was spacious, impeccably clean, and exactly as pictured. Truth be told, one of--if not THE most--comfortable bed I have slept on throughout my time at various listings around the world. I was a little concerned about sharing a bathroom with other guests given that it was a full house, but not once did I encounter a conflict. Maria Jose provides a considerable amount of amenities for her guests including, among other things, access to her washer/dryer, snacks/breakfast foods, and a hair dryer + iron (which I had conveniently forgotten at home). Located in a pretty central location, her home is equidistant from major neighborhoods in San Francisco, making commutes easy. I would definitely choose Maria Jose's home again and again, and would recommend it to anyone looking for accommodations in the city.

Plan the day while sipping coffee at the white lacquer dining table of this stylish, second-floor flat in a Victorian home. Orange textiles, colorful ceramics, and board games are eclectic accents amid minimalist furnishings and pale hardwood floors.
Private studio flat on the second floor of a duplexed home with one flight of steps to get to the entrance and two more to get into the door. Street unmetered parking or a space can be made available nearby for an additional fee.
Situated between the heights and sites of Bernal Hill, known for its stunning views, the studio is close to shops, cafes, and restaurants, including some of the best taquerias in town. The Mission District is also nearby.
  • Great apartment - modern, clean and comfortable with everything you might need. Great location out of the city centre but very easy to get around on public transport - including to and from the airport. Great restaurants nearby as well as grocery store.

    John2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jan's place is great... adorable in fact. I found it very comfortable for two adults. We brought our dogs and I liked that the apartment was on the second floor so my dogs didn't bark at every dog passing by. The kitchen had everything we needed. Jan stocked the fridge with the essentials - milk, creamer (thank you!), coffee, orange juice, English muffins. Enough to get us started - especially for a coffee addict like me. The bed was super comfortable. I couldn't tell if it was a queen or full sized bed, but it was enough room for two adults to fit comfortably. The bathroom was roomy enough as well. Everything is brand new - so it all works. The water pressure is fine. We'd definitely stay here again (and we will). The neighborhood has a lot to offer for food. We tried the curry pizza place a few blocks away which was pretty good. If you're looking for a place near the mission or a safe place to stay in SF that you can walk around and get places... this is a great choice. :)

    Evan2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautifully decorated, and spotless little pied-a-tier in a wonderful neighborhood. On the Mission side of Bernal, you can walk to some of the best bars and restaurants in the city. Both BART and Courtland Ave are just a 10 minute stroll away so the location can't be beat. The space itself is bright and clean and our hosts were exceptional, they even stocked the fridge with breakfast foods and left us home-baked cookies, such a nice touch. All around, a perfect experience, I will definitely be booking this again.

    Alison2017-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is very comfortable. everything is thought out to the smallest detail, in the kitchen there is absolutely everything necessary for cooking. very cool that the washing machine and dryer in the apartment. The apartment is clean and cozy. next to an incredible park, from which a beautiful view of the city. Thank you Jan and Bernard for everything:)

    Yana2018-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Jan and Bernard were lovely hosts, and the studio was the perfect temporary home for my dog and I. I booked a month and a half stay at the very last minute, and they were perfectly accommodating. The place was spotlessly clean with fresh cookies waiting when I arrived. They gave me a safe place to lock up my bike, quickly took care of any issues that arose during my stay, and when I locked myself out one night, they were there to help out. The place is definitely small, but the layout/furniture/etc make it feel like nothing is missing. Really enjoyed my stay!

Really ideal location for getting the most out of San Francisco. Located 2 blocks from the Cable Car Museum, and the opportunities three Cable Car lines offer the savvy guest. This is a very low maintenance, low key space with no kitchen access.
I am working on cleaning and painting the kitchen & common area, so it will not be available to guests. The room features a new queen mattress with heating pad and great light. The building is turn of the century, which could mean low water pressure during peak use hours. The Room and bath/shower claw foot tub have been recently painted and updated. Parking is on the street with 2 hr limits. Sunday and Saturday in some areas is free, and there are a few streets that rarely are enforced. I can provide a day street parking pass at cost $ 10. I just wanted to make sure, you understand I am working on remodeling the kitchen and common space. I will email you with detailed check-in instructions a few days prior to your arrival. Please do not book if you are not able to use the Airbnb messaging and email.
This is ground Zero for an authentic SF experience. Two coffee shops within blocks. A must eat at MP. A must visit entertainment venue docslab.com 2000 meters in multiple directions to Union Square shopping, fisherman's Wharf, Columbus and Broadway,  Polk and Pacific. .3 miles to Famous Lombard Street and Grace cathedral. Read the reviews, and book the real deal at the right price.
  • Very good welcome from Clark that was really responsive to provide us details and parking passes. The room was clean and as described in the announce. The location is great as it is at a walkable distance of many interesting places in SF. Thank you Clark

    Francois2015-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Clark was helpful with information about checkin by email. The room was clean and private. Bathroom down the hall was cute and functional. We loved the location in the center of the city. Thanks.

  • Space was nice, it was private and quiet. parking was a nightmare but that's just SF, next time we'll plan what time of day we come into the city differently. The location was cool, really close to China town. Clark was a great host.

  • Clark was very accommodating and we were super pleased by his attentiveness. His place is very central and close to amazing Chinese restaurants in China Town. We really enjoyed staying and definitely I am coming back at his place when Im in SF.

  • The room is great, we actually didn't find it that small, we had 3 big piece of luggage and we could store them easily in the room closet and still had plenty of place. The bed is good, the heating pad was really appreciated. Everything seems clean, including the bathroom. The locking system is great and very convenient. The location is vert good, you can get everywhere very easily by foot or by public transportation. We didn't met Mike but the communication we had with him was ok, he allowed us to keep our luggages in the locked room before the check-in time, which was really nice of him.

    Céline & Sylvain2015-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Clark was very communicative and helpful during our stay. He's a super friendly guy and his apartment is in the perfect place to either just walk everywhere or hop on a cablecar for your adventure. Overall really pleasant stay and great experience.

    Jenna2016-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • The room is small, but clean and the bed is comfortable. Shared bathroom is OK. Location is central, close to Fisherman's wharf. But not a cosy neighbourhood at all, for cafés and restaurants head to Polk street. Or even better, to cozy areas like Castro, Mission or Portero Hill. We never actually saw Clark, so if you expect a personal air bnb experience, this isn't the place for you.

  • Clark was extremely kind, offering useful advise and personal recommendations. He made us feel welcome and his place was fantastically located!

Guests have loved their quick stay here. Private room and private bathroom, yet the kitchen, and dining area are shared with other adventurous guests around the world. From the house, Ocean beach is 4 blockers away, Golden Gate Park just across the street, yummy restaurants are within walking distance. Plenty of free street parking spots. Be mindful of noises from street and next door since it's located on major street and old fashion house, no sound proof.
Golden Gate Park and Ocean Beach are like this house's front and back yard.
This neighborhood is safe and recreational, young professions and young families are located here, for here has park, playgrounds, beach, museum, and great restaurants to enjoy.
  • Amazing location right across from Golden Gate Park and only a few blocks from Ocean Beach.

    Jennifer2018-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place by right the beach and across from the golden gate park, and it’s on flat land, not those hilly areas of SF. Self check-in was easy and convenient. Room was all neat and ready and I arrived. No complaints.

  • This place was fantastic. Would definitely stay again. Very clean!

  • Great place and location, no problems at all

  • Perfect location in an under appreciated part of the city, tourism-wise.. just a couple blocks from the beach, outerlands, woods outbound brewery, and across the street from a lovely section of gg park.. an super easy trek to pretty much everywhere else in SF via train/bus/lyft - thanks!!

    Anathea2018-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect location for our weekend at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass concert in Golden Gate Park--the park was right across the street, Ocean Beach just a few short blocks away. Great restaurants within walking distance. At this point the home is pretty basic, but certainly has potential. There is a full kitchen, and if you want a private bathroom ask for Room #3, which we had. There are four bedrooms on this floor; you'll be sharing the home with other travelers. The stairs are pretty steep leading up to the home, in case that's an issue for you. Easy check in/out.

  • It was a nice stay although it was not in downtown, uber is not that expensive to bring you back. backyard should be a littler nicer but overall its a nice place to stay for one or two nights.

  • 10/10 Colleen is an attentive, responsive, caring host. Everything goes so smoothly and the location is so pleasant and quite while still being close to plenty of things to do and see. Parking was quite easy especially for SF. The suite is cozy, clean and comfortable and the amenities are great!!

    Nishant2019-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Looking for a spotless, weekend getaway near the ocean? Colleen’s place is perfect for a couple looking to get cozy!

    Danielle2019-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A very clean and enjoyable stay. The place had everything you could need. Very private and easy access to your own studio room with kitchen amenities. My wife and I would go back without second thoughts

    Kevin2019-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Seriously, this place was fantastic. We regretted not staying for more than just the night after we experience how lovely this place was. Lots of places to eat nearby and Colleen also included an incredible guide book with anything you could want to do, and then some! Would love to stay here again.

    Nicholas2018-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place to stay!!! Convenient, clean, and quiet. Colleen is a wonderful host! Great place for your San Francisco vacation!!!

    Uriah2018-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very clean, stylish and comfy. The bed was so comfortable (lol). There is a great bagel place right around the corner and the parking is just one block away. Thanks for the comfortable and perfect stay!

    Jesus2019-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • This Airbnb was perfect for 2 people/a couple. We enjoyed the comfy bed, clean shower, and cute decor touches throughout the space. There isn't a stove/range to use, but they have a microwave and a toaster oven. We didn't cook at all in here because we were only here for a short time, but if you want to make meals during your trip, I don't know if I would suggest booking this location (just because there wasn't a stove). If you're fine with a microwave/toaster oven, then you're fine though. One thing that was a bit awkward, was that we realized in the morning that the family's room was right above this Airbnb...good thing we didn't want to sleep in really late, otherwise that might've woken us up. Either way, it's fine if you don't mind a little noise above you, which we didn't. You also have to keep in mind that you can't be ~too~ loud either or they'll likely hear you. Overall, really great place for a night's rest.

Our cool and comfortable one bedroom unit with private entrance! It comfortably fits two and is centrally located on a quiet street, just few blocks from Golden Gate Park and Irving St. Enjoy a private in-suite bathrooms, hotel standard linen. This is just a bit short of being called an apartment as we don't have a full kitchen! You'll have a living area with place to make coffee, a mini fridge, microwave and tons of others amenities making your stay easy and ready like a local.
The unit is centrally located. The big plus is you'll have your private entrance and private room with in-suite bathrooms. You will also have access to laundry. Street parking is easy and won't be a problem. As a note: we live upstair with two kids, as you can see from our reviews, most guests don't have a problem with the sound they make in the morning. Our kids wake up around 6:30AM to 7AM (quiet time for them is 9PM), we move their activities to the living room which is not directly on top of yours. If you are a light sleeper, the light sound might wake you up but it's certainly not loud. Update: we just updated our unit with TV with free Netflix and an Alexa echo device with Spotify.
Inner Sunset is a quiet area at night and quite active during day times. You have easy access to muni and tons of public transportation. Also, a few blocks down the road is all the boutiques and nice cafés on Irving St and 9th Ave. If you are feeling sportive, a quick jog to the Golden Gate Park will sure satisfy your thirst. If you here on Sunday, you are in for a treat as we have a lovely Farmer market on 9th and Irving from 10 to 1PM.
  • This place is great if your looking for a spot to rest your head at night. It's a little impersonable and cheesy. Good for a full blown tourist as it's well equipped with maps, snacks and brochures for "things to do in San Fran"

    Tucker2016-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cons: A little bit more sparse than we expected. It feels a bit like a basement in the unit and is hard-pressed for light. Hosts were right upstairs, but we never interacted with them. We slept very comfortably, but overall were not very comfortable in the place. The pros: this is a great price for SF, and we spent most time out exploring the city, so the sparse-ness was okay. Proximity to the park is a big plus, and parking is easy. The hosts go beyond the necessary to make sure you are equipped in the city with hot spots and chargers.

    Tyson2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Little appartement that has everything you need for a short or longer stay. It looks like the pictures and description. Love the quartier! shops, coffee places, few minutes walking to the park, tram station near by to go downtown... Hard to find an affordable place in San Francisco that is in a cool quartier and looks homy, so we were very satisfied! The flat is attached to the main house, so if you need Johnny and Anne, they are happy to help, but you have your own entrance so if you just want privacy, they respect that also! Great stay!

    Perrin2015-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is in a safe and peaceful neighbourhood. We love the comfortable kitchen/living area that's well-equipped with water filter, coffee machine (and free coffee), and electric kettle. Downside is that it's on the ground floor so not much of a view. Nevertheless, great stay overall!

    Qi Yan2016-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • An affordable place to stay right near Golden Gate Park! Just right for two people, and great for biking down to the park, or climbing higher for amazing views!

    Carmen2015-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • The host canceled this reservation 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    Guido2015-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent communication from Johnny and Anne. The listing was as advertised and worked well for our quick night in San Francisco. Good value. Safe neighborhood.

    Mike2016-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great disappointment. Not a comfortable space at all. Only access to a mini fridge and microwave. No couch or chair or dresser. Getting ready in the morning was cramped. Only a shower, which was too small for my 5', 110-pound body! The door had a hole in it. We could smell greasy cooking and hear kids and dogs running around upstairs. The kitchen floor was filthy, the mattress uncomfortable. The bathroom needs lots of bleach! We left a day early and paid for a hotel.

Enjoy a PRIVATE BEDROOM with a QUEEN BED, in a beautiful home filled with restored redwood. Kitchen & bathroom are shared with the owner and other guests. The location is amazing! * 1 PRIVATE BEDROOM with an interior window to the hallway * The mattress is a new Alexander Signature Hybrid by Nest Bedding. * Central! Flexibility Regarding the 10am Check-Out Time * While I usually require that you be packed up so I can start laundry and cleaning at 10am, you can generally leave your bags behind while I'm cleaning the house and come back to pick them up before 4pm. There might additional flexibility if needed, so please ask. If you want groceries, there are Chinese markets within a block and extending down Stockton St. The famous Molinari Delicatessen is a 3 minute walk away. There are several neighborhood markets 4-7 minutes away. There is a Wallgreens Pharmacy 2 blocks away. There is a Trader Joe's and Safeway Supermarket within a 12 minute walk. A HISTORIC RESIDENCE Amid an abundance of restaurants, cafés, bars and markets, you'll be able to have a comfortable home! This is the THIRD floor of a building constructed shortly after the San Francisco earthquake and fires of 1906. This bedroom has a has an antique bed frame, queen mattress (Nest Bedding's Alexander Signature Hybrid to be exact) and two bedside tables with drawers. The window goes to the hallway, which is full of wonderful art. It's a quiet room where you won't hear much city noise. Let me know if you would like to rent a private living room or another bedroom. Otherwise, there are two other rooms with queen beds that may be rented to other guests. The homeowner (me, Sara) will be in another bedroom. From time to time, I may have a personal guest (friend or family) sharing my room. At the end of the hall is a sun-filled kitchen and dining area. The kitchen has a gas range and oven, fridge, microwave, toaster and various kitchen tools to make home-cooked meals. (Whether you check out the abundance of produce markets around the corner in Chinatown, gather cheeses and meats from Molinari Delicatessen on Columbus, grab some organic produce on Grant Ave a few blocks away, or choose to walk to Trader Joe's or Safeway - you are surrounded by delicious ingredients!) The dining table has seating for 6. The bright dining area is a wonderful place to enjoy some coffee and breakfast before heading out for the day. Or feel free to just use the dining table as a desk/work space, and take advantage of the litany of restaurants, cafes and bars in all directions!! As mentioned above, this building is from the early 1900's and has some unique features that have been added over the last 100 years. Walk through the kitchen to a small room with windows to the ceiling. This converted porch was probably once used for drying clothes and now has a bathroom sink. Through another door is the bathroom with a toilet, small sink, and shower/bath. This may not be your usual bathroom experience, but you are visiting San Francisco after all and will get a glimpse of the historic nature of SF homes. The bathroom includes a make-up mirror, blow dryer with a diffuser, cotton balls, q-tips, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, ear plugs and a few feminine products in case of emergency. There isn't a clothes washer and dryer, but there's a laundromat a half block away. PARKING - SO MANY OPTIONS! There are so many parking options available around my house! There is a parking lot right in front of the house. It only costs $15 for 12 hours. Park there for the full day for $30. Or if you use the car during the day then you'd only need to pay $15 for the night. Or you can park in the lot during the day and park on the street for free at night if you want to save $15. There is street parking in the neighborhood. Most of it has a 2 hour limit between 8am Monday - 9pm Saturday. So, you can park in a spot from 7pm in the evening to 10am in the morning before you have to move every 2 hours. Since the time limit doesn't apply on Sunday, you can leave it from 7pm Saturday night to 10am Monday morning. Sometimes I can find a parking spot just up the street and other times I find a street parking space several blocks away, but I eventually find a spot. There are also parking meters in the streets immediately around the house. They are enforced Monday to Saturday 9am to 6pm. So you can park for free from 6pm to 9am and all day on Sunday. After that, it's $2 per hour which you can pay from your smartphone with an app. If you park on the street, please read all street signs regarding street cleaning and such in order to avoid your car being towed. You can also park in a number of nearby parking garages. The North Beach Garage on Vallejo charges about $3 per hour. They charge $30 for 9-24 hours. However if you enter before 10am and exit before 7pm, it's only $16. (They call this their Early Bird Special.) So you could switch off between the garage during the day and street at night and save $14 if you wanted to. This garage is open 24 hours. The Vallejo Street Garage is $27 daily maximum and $16 Early Bird Special. This garage closes at 10pm Sunday-Thursday and 2am Friday and Saturday. The Powell Street Parking garage is usually $12 for a weekday from morning to about 6pm. The price goes up in evenings and weekends, however as stated earlier you can park for free in the evenings on the street. They close between 10pm and 2am depending on the day. So you could switch off between the garage during the day and street at night and save money if you wanted to.
  • Sara is so nice and the bed is very comfortable!

    Kate2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sara’s place is in a good location for individuals wanting to spend their days exploring the city by foot. The unit is close to the waterfront, museums, shopping and local restaurants. Sara is knowledgeable about the city and very willing to help guide you toward the events and activities that will help make your stay enjoyable. The bedroom is cozy and when all rooms are in use, the unit has a true BNB flare where the kitchen and bathroom are shared spaces. We were able to meet some lovely folks visiting from around the world which only added to our experience.

  • Sara is a good host and really helpful to find nice activities around the city! The location of her apartment is perfect too!

    Élizabeth2017-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sara was very helpful with checking in, getting us some tips on local activities, and was a lovely host overall. Great area in SF I had not normally visited but will definitely frequent more often!

  • Sara's Air bnb was perfect. She was more than accommodating to my needs and questions. She was quick at responding to my message and I had to book a place quick. The bed was comfy and clean. Sara has stocked the place with everything you could possibly want from an air bnb. Her tea selection was fabulous and I highly recommend the Blue People Oolong, my personal favorite! She was thorough in her instructions for self check in and that made it a breeze. She even sent me amazing lists of things to go do & see in San Francisco that was wonderful and very helpful. I can see why Sara is a super host and will definitely be back. If you were on the fence about this place, go for it you will be happy you did!

    Heather2018-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Sara's place is centrally located to all of the tourist attractions so if you are looking to explore San Francisco I would definitely recommend staying with Sara. She's a super communicative host, and immediately attends whatever concerns you may have. The place itself was clean and most importantly (imo) the bed was super comfortable to sleep in! I had a great nights rest :)

Enjoy your own private cottage in a back yard garden in Glen Park. Cozy studio cottage with an integrated bathroom. Complete with mini fridge, microwave, k-cup coffee maker, and premium cable. Relax inside the cottage or sit outside at the patio table and admire the garden. Private entrance to the cottage. 5 blocks from the Glen Park BART Station. Street parking is easy in the neighborhood, you can park all day long. Street cleaning is every other week and on different sides of the street,
The cottage is a single room with a private enclosed water closet for privacy. Internet access for your computer needs, and a TV with Xfinity cable with many of the premium channels if you want a relaxing evening. The shower is integrated into the room.
Glen Park/Sunnyside is a quiet residential neighborhood in San Francisco. Glen Park has a cute village feel and has some great restaurants and shops. Since it is just a few BART stops (or a 5-10 minute drive) from downtown and the more crowded parts of San Francisco, it provides a tranquil refuge for your stay.
  • Everything about this place is perfect. Awesome attention to detail in the small cabin and even complimentary water and cereal bars. We loved the garden and good parking on the street. Sadly we didn't get to know Eddie or Chip in person but communication was on point. Definitely my favorite place of this trip by far.

    Christian2017-07-07T00:00:00Z

  • Absolutely beautiful garden and cottage; great place for two people to share. Loved it!

    Allison2018-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Eddie’s place is by all means the best AirBnb I been to in terms of execution. Its situated behind his home in a hilly neighborhood that gives you quite a view of the southern end of SF’s suburbs. The distance from the BART was very helpful in getting into SF, and the Glenn Park neighborhood was also worth checking out for food and grocery shopping. Eddie was a bit busy while we were there but we did have a chance to me and chat it up with him. Quite a lovely personality and big hearted individual (He serves the community for a living) does fine time to make sure you’re alright, and he (or his neighbor, i dunno who’s dog it is) also finds time to clean up after a dog that occasionally shows up in the courtyard (if I may). If I ever ended up in SF, again, Eddie’s the first option!

    Ryan2018-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was an adorable, functional room perfect for a trip for two. Close enough to the city to take a cheap Uber to anything but far enough away so that the streets are quiet and street parking.

    Katy2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • As described this cottage is very cozy and has everything you could need to stay in San Fransisco. We found lots of little extras dotted around and in drawerss. This accomodation has more personal items than any hotel room. Little bottles of water and a water filter jug in the fridge. Snacks in the bowl. Hairdryer and straightners in the draw under the sink. Extra blankets in the drawers. Ample extra towels. The biggest bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash i've ever seen. We would happily return here. Thank you Eddie for the extras.

This home has a nice sized private bedroom with a queen sized futon mattress for 1 guest and shared use of the breakfast nook located in the kitchen area which can be used for office or eating or relaxing. The back of the home where the bedroom is located is very private and quiet. The kitchen is shared and lightly used. The bathroom is shared and has a full bath and shower for your use. Laundry facility is 4 blocks away. This home is centrally located in the Sunset District in between the hustling and bustling restaurants and bars of inner sunsets 9th Ave. to the east and the Ocean with its beautiful beaches and sightseeing to the west. It is a 4 block walk to Golden Gate Park and a 3 block walk to the N Judah metro which will take you to downtown S.F. in 30m, or to the ocean in 10m. There are restaurants, bars and markets within blocks of walking distance and the 9th Ave corridor is only a 10m metro ride or a nice brisk walk along the Irving Street commercial corridor. Amenities include WiFi, clean towels, soap, tea, coffee. And most of all a friendly host that will be happy to assist in directions and tips on getting around.
Close to the Ocean and blocks from Golden Gate Park. Quiet neighborhood. Easy transportation.
  • Allen was the bomb! Super gracious host, always helpful and attentive. He wasn't really around very much, so I pretty much had the place to myself. When he was home, we definitely clicked and had lots of great conversations. He even took me to lunch one day up the street by the beach... (what a guy!)He also helped me learn about the area and where to eat and play etc. Golden Gate Park is literally right up the street! If you stay here don't miss opportunities for morning strolls/ runs / meditating/ reading/ whatever you like to do at the park. It's a predominately Chinese neighborhood which made for some amazing restaurants at super good prices and a really cool and different cultural experience I wasn't quite expecting. Absolutely loved my stay! Highly recommend staying.

  • best place never been with airbnb. allen is helpful and welcoming. we have everything we can need in a room and in a kitchen. except a mirror maybe, but now we bought one and leave in a room for all next guest xD. really good place to stay! A.jocelyn & L.fiona

  • We had a very private room in the back of the house and the bathroom is next to our bedroom. The room is big and clean, very nice. The house is situated in a quiet area but 5 mins walk to N to go to downtown, very convenient. We arrived late because of delayed flight due to Chicago control tower fire and Allen waited us patiently and told us where to have dinner. We enjoyed our stay in SFO.

    Hsiao2014-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Other than some minor issues with the WiFi connection, I had a pleasant stay at Allen's place. A good option for people looking for an affordable long-term stay in the city.

    Ryan2017-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • I'm very pleased with such great host as Allen! He's funny, polite and well-educated man. We've chances to visit cafes, museum and explored city during some days. This was truly Airbnb experience that helped me to find a new friend in the city (I believe)=) Regarding listing itself: everything as described. The room was a bit cold in December, but as I understand is the common problem in all SF apartments.

    Vasyl2016-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Allen was a friendly and accommodating host. He responded to messages promptly and even provided some tips on local hotspots (e.g. tourist attractions, cafes, and bars). The location of his place is great, especially if you plan to visit Ocean Beach and/or Golden Gate Park. The house and bedroom are clean and cozy. I would highly recommend staying at Allen's place on your next trip to San Francisco!

    Nicole2014-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Allen's place. It is bright, clean, conveniently located (great coffee places like DRIP'D and a variety of breakfast diners a few tram stops from the house, 15 minutes to downtown). Allen gave us helpful advise on where to go, yet we hardly ever saw him, so we mostly had the whole place to ourselves: with kitchen, bathroom and everything to recharge and relax after a long day of climbing San Francisco hills :-) The Internet connection would sometimes drop for a while or get really slow, which is not an issue for most people, but as I work during travels, I noticed. I hope Allen fixes that in the future. To summarize: great place, highly recommended.

  • Allen is a very nice guy. He provided a very lovely house for my friend and me. San Francisco impressed me very much. I love this wonderful place.

  • Very friendly host and a good room. So nothing to complain :)

  • Hongkang was a good host. He was easy to communicate and even allowed me to drop off my bags 2 hours before check-in! The location of the house is near the BART station and the bus stop is about 5 minutes walk from there. Had everything we needed in the kitchen and more than we expected.Would definitely choose this place again if I travel back again.

  • Room was bigger than most. No frills, but everything I needed. Extra blanket was provided quickly when asked.

Private entry, sidewalk-level suite of living room, kitchen, bedroom and bath with artful touches in 1911 Edwardian. Close to beaches, GGate Park, GGate Bridge, groceries, cafes, restaurants on city-wide trolly line for memorable vacation/business/retreat. Easy drive to Marin.
The private sidewalk level suite, is clean and comfortable with original windows and doors providing natural light and fresh air. It's San Francisco living so you can be sure to hear the sounds of a trolley passing by and footsteps from people (and two dogs) in the flat above. It’s real life in the City. SF STR permit number (4 zeroes) 949
We live in a friendly neighborhood with cafes and restaurants and world-class museums, situated perfectly to explore San Francisco’s extraordinary natural beauty. Just step out the yellow door and take a short walk on the “neighborhood path” to Baker Beach. A little bit further in any direction will lead you right to the Golden Gate Bridge, Land's End and Ocean Beach. On your journeys spend time at the Legion of Honor Museum in Lincoln Park and the DeYoung Museum and the Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park. Afterward head over to the Arboretum for a picnic lunch next to its its lakes and gardens. If you prefer to sidewalk explore, it's fun to walk down Clement Street from 25th Avenue to Arguello (1st Avenue) stopping in at Green Apple Books with its extraordinary offering of new and used, all sorts of pubs and Chinese restaurants (SF’s little Chinatown.) Live like a local and take the California 1 electric trolley - aka the unofficial tour bus - the full 7 miles across the city to the Ferry Building (about a 2 hour walk.) Jump on and off to meander through the City’s distinctly different neighborhoods - Fillmore District, Polk Gulch, North Beach - each makes San Francisco such a great place to visit and live. If you are looking for a movie and dinner, there’s Pizetta 211 and the Four Star Theater just around the corner, two neighborhood not so secret gems. There's something for everyone.
  • This was the most perfect Airbnb we have stayed in so far. The location was right by a bus stop that we took to Japantown, Coit Tower, and lots of great restaurants. It also felt like a nice and safe area. Everything was clean and Dennis was such a kind and helpful host. Parking was a bit difficult the first night so we went to a parking garage, but the other nights we found street parking the next block over. My husband and I loved this place and would definitely stay here again. Also a tip: we rented bikes for the 3 days we were here, but now know that using a bus is probably a better option if you don’t want to be incredibly sore . The hills in this city are steep. You are able to purchase a 3 day Muni pass online.

  • Clean, cozy flat in a fantastic location. Experience the real San Francisco!

    Maurice2018-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Dennis's place. From the moment we arrived we felt at home. The entrance is so inviting and the place itself so lovingly presented, it was perfect for our stay. We became well acquainted with the coffee place Angelina's on the corner, and it was very handy to have the shop over the road. Sandwiched between 3 parks it was a great base for some lovely walks and a handy bus ride to town. Don't miss Clement Street's 'Green Apple' bookstore just a short walk away!

    Jennifer2017-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Dennis and Nancy were so friendly and helpful. We had no idea where things were and they both helped with directions and recommended their local favorites. The apartment was fantastic! We had everything that we needed right there. It's also in such a great neighborhood-really clean, friendly and convenient. We lucked out! I'd stay there again for sure. :)

    Eileen2015-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights. The apartment is large enough for two with excellent facilities, generous provisions in the kitchen and bathroom; spotlessly clean and even the heated blanket had been switched on for our arrival on a cool evening in July. The neighbourhood is quiet and very interesting, just a 15 minute walk to Baker Beach through pleasant residential streets. Nancy had left some excellent maps and ideas of what to do locally and further afield. Would we like to have explored more of the area and it's interesting shops and restaurants, the excellent local pizza place and Russian bakery we did manage to indulge in. We found our hosts to be warm and welcoming with time to talk and make us feel comfortable. An excellent place to stay and explore San Francisco as we felt safe and relaxed. We will be back!

    Helen2017-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place tucked away in West San Fran. Dennis was easy to communicate with the entire time. Enough space to feel worth it, and cozy enough to feel far from the city but smack dap in the middle. Easy transit to downtown by the California bus that connects to the rest of the city. Easy access to Lands End or Baker Beach. A great coffeeshop and eateries are right outside the front door. If you have luggage to stoy before check in, it might be a hassle, but there are places downtown. We stored our bags at a separate Airbnb for the day while we traversed the city.

    Brian2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, private and clean. Great little place for a single or couple that just needs a place to relax. Wonderful neighborhood to walk around in with good eats nearby and close to public transportation if you want to explore more areas.

  • The apartment was not clean when I arrived. It appeared as if nobody had thoroughly cleaned the place since the last stay. Cobwebs, hair, etc. Unfortunate because the location was great. Fillmore street (3 blocks away) has great restaurants and shops.

  • David's place is in a good, central location within San Francisco. He's a great host that was very prompt with communicating, and check-in & check-out were simple. Inside you'll find everything you need, including a full kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, etc. I got a great night of sleep here. You'll also have your own parking spot in the driveway, which is a actually huge because there is NOWHERE to park on the streets. I would stay here again on my next visit to San Francisco. Thank you!

    Jerzy2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • David welcomed us with plenty of tips about what to do and how to get around. The place is quiet and very well located in a quiet and safe neighbourhood with public transports to downtown just a short walk away. All the essentials were included - bedding, towels, soaps, hair dryer, etc. - and David helped us to use the shared washing machine and dryer too.

    Roberto2016-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Super comfortable and David was great at giving suggestions when arriving and answering any questions in a timely manner.

    Philip2017-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • David was a gracious host. He offered many suggestions regarding local restaurants and grocery stores. The bed is super comfortable. We used the refrigerator and made hot tea. I loved listening to the rain from the warm cozy bed. There was plenty of privacy. My daughter said the shower went a little cold so I just didn't take one (haha) We were there for two nights.

    Theresa2018-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • David is beyond helpful. He was there to greet us and get us settled as we arrived and had so many great suggestions on places to go, things to do and places to eat. I would highly recommend staying at his place!

    Elsa2019-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • David was very welcoming. Our check in was smooth and he was extremely helpful. The space was clean, bright and comfortable. The space is as described in pictures but we didn't realize you need to walk through the garage to use the bathroom (not far). Shower is very small, but otherwise does the job! It was nice to have our own parking spot and the neighborhood felt safe. There is a 5-10 minute direct walk to bus stop to get into SF with a 20-30 minute commute. David gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants in the area as well. Thank you David for your hospitality!

    Kristyn2016-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • The space is clean and has everything you need. The bed is comfortable and the bedroom is bright. Should probably be listed as a private room within a shared space, though, as the unit is on the first level of the family’s home. You have to walk through their garage to get to the unit. The bathroom is also in a separate room in the garage away from the rest of the space, which could catch some travelers off guard.

    Sarah2018-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Davids place is really great! We were there for 3 nights. There is enough space for 2 people with a great living room, with a very very comfortable bed and a kitchen and bathroom you can use by yourself. David told us much about the restaurants and shops around his home. The bus stop is at the nearest corner so you are very flexible. Thanks David for a perfect stay in san francisco!

Our downstairs studio is like a hotel room with its own entrance, a kitchenette, bathroom and a comfy bed. Our home is close to public transportation and lots of shops, restaurants and parks. It is near the lively Mission district and quaint Cortland Ave. There is easy access to 80, 101 and 280 if you're driving south or east. Its best for 1 or 2 people, but might be able to accommodate a couple with 1 child. A small dog would be okay, but there is no outdoor area.
The studio is about the size of a small hotel room, with a queen size bed, smart TV you can watch your own streaming service on, breakfast table and chair, a side chair. There is a closet for your use. The kitchenette includes an under-counter refrigerator, sink, and microwave, as well as an electric kettle and a French press coffee maker. We provide coffee and tea for you to make yourself. There are glasses, mugs, plates and bowls. There is silverware, a can opener, a bottle opener. We provide granola, oatmeal and some light snacks or breakfast items. The shower and toilet are each behind a wall for privacy, and there is a heavy curtain separating the bathroom from the studio. There is a door for the toilet. However, the bathroom is not a completely separate room, so the studio is best for people who are comfortable with one another. Our studio is cozy and quiet, and with the curtain pulled to cover the glass entry door, it is quite private. There is no outdoor space. There is a smart TV and you can sign into your own streaming TV service.
Our home is in Bernal Heights. We are on the North-West corner, and our home has a view of both Twin Peaks and Downtown, although there is not a view from the studio. Bernal Heights is hilly, with great views, some steep streets, stairways and tiny parks tucked into side streets. From the park at the top of our hill, there is a 360-degree view of the City, including the bay, the Bay Bridge, the Golden Gate bridge, Twin Peaks, Downtown, Mt Diablo and south to the airport. During baseball season and at the 4th of July, fireworks are often visible from our hill. There is a very sweet commercial street with restaurants, shops and a library. Several parks are nearby for strolling, playing, picnicking and dogs. Our neighborhood is south of the Mission neighborhood, but still within walking distance of the lively nightlife there. It is quieter and cleaner than some of the Mission streets, but not so far from the center that anything is difficult to get to. Bernal Heights was voted America's Hottest Neighborhood in 2014 on the real estate site Redfin: (URL HIDDEN)
  • Angela's studio is exactly as described by other reviewers. Super clean and well-equipped, the place is very small (a single room) but great use is made of every inch. I was very impressed with the fact that it had everything we needed! The location is ideal and Angela is great on communication. The one thing I did not realize is that there are no windows in the room. I am somewhat claustrophobic and I found that to be difficult, we kept the door open most of the time we were awake for air and since the weather was fine that was nice but it's something I did not focus on from the other reviews. This is not a place to rent if you want to hang out in the airbnb but it is an ideal rental if you want to be on the go with a clean and comfortable place in a great location. I highly recommend!

She was kind enough to leave plenty of recommendations, extra toiletries, and all the amenities you might need! We would definitely stay again - quiet street in a central location :)
