A very comfortable retreat, in the front rooms of a federation home, only metres from Beaumont St, one of the busiest "eat streets" in Newcastle. You enjoy a large bedroom with queen size bed, spacious lounge room, small kitchenette & bathroom. If you need an extra room a second bedroom with a double bed is available. The bedrooms are opposite each other on either side of the hallway. An additional folding single bed is available on request.
Your rooms are part of the original section of a lovely old house, built in 1895. So it has the usual features of its era - high ceilings, fireplaces, polished kauri pine floors. It is located only half a block from bustling Beaumont St with all its cafes and eateries. You can go out to dinner and enjoy your wine, without having to worry about driving home.
Having lived here for the past 35 years, Hamilton feels like a little village to me. It's an eclectic mix of houses in little pocket handerchief streets. In Beaumont St I have my favourite haunts for coffees, meals and clothes shopping. Depending on your time and energy levels, much is within walking distance. Lovely Gregson Park is a half a block away. The walk down to Islington Park and along Throsby Creek is delightful. And it is only five minutes in a car to the Harbour Foreshore, Honeysuckle and Darby St eateries, and our beautiful beaches - Nobbys, Newcastle, Bar, Dixon Park and Merewether. Also nearby is the Fernleigh Track, formerly an old rail line that ran from Adamstown to Belmont, a beautiful place to walk or cycle; and Blackbutt Reserve, a lovely tract of bushland is great for picnics and walks. For golfers it is a five minute drive to Merewether Golf Course. For sailors, we are twenty minutes from beautiful Lake Macquarie. And, with the new motorway, it is only a half-hour drive to the Hunter Valley's famous vineyards; and a forty minute drive to Port Stephens.
