Downtown, the best bit of Manhattan. One of, if not the, LARGEST space on Airbnb in NYC. Your Own PRIVATE Bathroom & PRIVATE Bedroom, a Terrace off the bedroom, near to subways/buses, restaurants, bars, real luxury right in the middle of things. Just read our 500+ 5-STAR REVIEWS and you will see why we are SUPER-HOSTS and why you will just love this place, like other guests, I promise. Si, hablo bien espanol, Français parlé assez bien.
Downtown Manhattan, .. just like you see it in the films. Only so much better in real life !! All the details are below so that will see all that you will experience on your trip to the Big Apple - there are lots of things you will love when you stay here, but PLEASE PLEASE (did I say please?) try to read all the way to the end of the description, including sleeping arrangements, information on the area, getting around and the frequently asked questions. I know it is a bit of a novel, but it is well worth it and, from experience, it makes sure you understand everything in detail and ensures you will have the best stay that you can. Anything at all that you are not sure about, if you are new to Airbnb for example, just ask and I will get back asap and clarify. • Very spacious loft apartment ( about 2000 sq feet, 188 sq m, at last measure - so very BIG for New York) in the center of arguably the coolest area of the city (please do not argue ), modern, minimalist furniture , very open, very clean, I take great pride in having a spotless living environment (that goes for the host too). A Massive space that gets flooded with light via a wall of windows. Just take a look at the pictures. High security. Walking distance to subways & museums. Friendly building and very safe neighborhood. • Your own PRIVATE bathroom - Large, spacious, with Jacuzzi Bath, Shower, Hairdryer, Kohler fixtures. Fresh towels etc. Fully-stocked. All the shampoo and things you will ever need. Just for you. • Your own PRIVATE bedroom - Queen Bed for 2, firm and soft pillows for every type of sleeper, linens, towels, Large Flat Screen TV, Netflix, Amazon TV etc, Wardrobe. Again only for you. • Large kitchen - Open concept with an area to eat and with everything you need to design a gourmet feast, top of the line GE appliances, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle , Dishwasher, stainless steel counter top etc. Make any food you want - if it is really good, give me some. Make coffee there in the morning - always available -- you have your very own little coffee bar. • Very large living area, Real Fireplace, WiFi, Surround sound HDTV with HDMI hook-up and Roku TV, Bose sound system with iPhone/iPod hook-up, the best choice in music (in my opinion, most not consulted). Sit.... Enjoy • Large dining area - seats lots, great views over the city and over the Williamsburg Bridge. Eat foods mentioned above (probably while seated, although one can never be sure). • Natural brick walls (as opposed to unnatural I suppose) and a lovely Merbeau wooden floor, both of which look good (but don't say much). • Floor to ceiling windows throughout - bathed in sun (when the sun is out, mainly, of course) • Outside secluded seating area and balcony - you access directly from your room - very secluded (sometimes I cannot find it) • Full air conditioning / heating in the room and in rest of loft - be hot, be cool (most likely one at a time) • Bosch Washer and Dryer - for you to use - we like to reserve that for guests who stay for 3 nights or longer - being kind to the world too, we try to use cold water as well where possible. • Keyed Private elevator entrance directly into Loft - of course you have your own key (or stairs if u have the energy - does not seem so popular, strangely) • Printer / Scanner available. Pens and paper too, if you are a traditionalist.(although we draw the line at camel hair brushes, I'm sure you understand). And there is a universal power adapter for you to use to charge your gadgets too. • The building is a very smart development, a recently renovated 7-story apartment block with original brick facade, great views of the city skyline. Quiet, lovely, village feel, with parks and pedestrian areas just outside, but close enough to get anywhere very easily. I think I am allowed to say it is authentic. • This is a very large and comfortable space that you will be free to enjoy as you wish (this is your vacation after all). You will have lots of privacy and as well as the city, you have Books, Music (great as mentioned above), Roku TV with lots of channels and an online DVR and more .... or just relax and chat. Up to you. We provide the following publications too New York Times New York Magazine so you can feel a bit like a New Yorker • Located in the heart of Downtown - food (some of the best in the city), drink, fun, shopping all very, very close. A very cool residential neighborhood just a short trip to all the action. Perfect location for exploring both sides of the river too, as very close to Brooklyn and Williamsburg. One of the most historic neighborhoods in the U.S. (perhaps the most). We are only a few minutes away from the walkway along the East River, it has a great view of the Brooklyn bridge and Manhattan Bridge. Nearly opposite the Tenement Museum (which is really great). TV, Film and general interest media all the time (become a star - or an extra anyway) ,music clubs and comedy left right and center and Alphabet City, Ludlow Street , East Village, Chinatown and Soho all in spitting distance - and I can not spit far. Direct Access to cabs just outside building. • Food shopping wise, it is 3 blocks from a Whole Foods, the largest Trader Joe's on the east coast and few blocks from the new Essex Street Market. Great food shopping if you want. I hope everything is covered - email if you need more information. I hope to see you soon and I hope I can be part of your visit to this unique place.
Best neighborhood in Manhattan for independent coffee shops, cozy wine bars, up-and-coming restaurants (the area has 4 out of the top 10 best places to eat in this years NY magazine list) , intimate music venues, and interesting owner-operated shops. Like no other area in the city. A very peaceful cool neighborhood, yet just a short trip to all the action. Check out the "Guidebook" with my listing -- I send a much longer one that I have written directly to guests that do decide to stay before they get here - and they love it, mention it often in their reviews and keep asking for extra copies!!
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The location was great, just two blocks from the subway and about a 20 min. ride into Manhattan. The area looks a bit sketchy, but I felt safe at all times. There are a lot of great restaurants within walking distance and the host was familiar with them all and had a lot of great recommendations. The bedroom was a nice size. The bed was very comfortable and there is a dresser and full closet at your disposal. The bathroom was very nice! Huge jetted tub and waterfall shower head. Lots of hot water. The living area is very spacious and very comfortable. I was made to feel very welcome and was very comfortable using all of the facilities. The hosts are very gracious, helpful and informative without being intrusive. The only constructive criticism I could possibly leave would be geared toward people who have dust allergies. Wooden floors tend to gather dust quite easily and need to be looked after on a daily basis. I look forward to a return stay.

  • This was great. Awesome room, awesome hosts, great apartment. Great location. Very spacious for Manhattan. Marc and Carol are the nicest hosts and my girlfriend and I had a wonderful time staying at their home. I would definitely recommend!

  • Carol has a very cool space in a great location. Walking distance to many places! The space was very clean and comfortable and Carol and Marc are so kind and friendly. They gave my daughter and I advice on how to take the train, and even helped us with our luggage and hailing a cab when we were leaving. It was always nice chatting with them. Would definitely recommend!

  • Perfect score for Carol & Marc’s LES loft. The apartment is spacious, very comfortable and super clean - exactly like the photos. The location is great, it was so easy to get to/from JFK Airport via the subway. There are lots of coffee shops, bakeries, small bars and restaurants right on their doorstep and Carol’s helpful guide will ensure you have no problem finding all the best options. The nearby subway stations means it’s a quick commute to Times Square, Central Park West, Finance District or Williamsburg. The experience was superior to staying in a hotel, I really appreciated the large fluffy towels, decent water pressure (not always a given in NY), free wifi, use of the fridge and ability to do laundry in the apartment. Living like a New York local rather than a tourist gives a different perspective on the city that never sleeps, and LES is a great neighbourhood. My friend Stacy joined me for part of my stay and separate bedding was provided in the room at no extra charge. We felt very much at home hanging on the roof top terrace. Marc was perfect host, offering assistance and directions, providing interesting conversation and company for dinner when I didn’t have other plans. Unfortunately I didn’t get to meet Carol in person as she was away, but Carol was in contact via email to ensure that everything met expectations and I had everything I needed. I couldn’t recommend this place more highly and hope to be able to stay again on my next visit to New York.

  • Carol and Marc are amazing hosts! They were really nice and helped me and my fiancee a lot with tips about what to do in New York. Carol always answered the emails really fast and the apartment looks exactaly like in the pictures. Everything is really clean and organized and they make you feel really comfortable and at home! The neighbourhood is really safe, very close to the subway and with a lot of options to drink and eat. I wanna thank you for the awesome days we had in your house!

    Carla2015-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment and space is a perfect location in the LES, a couple blocks from subways. The room was a good size for us (up to two adults!) and has great light during the day. The bed is comfortable, and balcony accessible and private. Very kid friendly with my 5 year old. The apartment is secure and we love the elevator opening up into the apartment (with a key of course!) Marc and Carol are great hosts and prior to check in they responded very quickly and were accommodating to our early arrival to drop off bags. I would definitely stay here again and we had great conversations and time spent with them during our short 2 day stay.

    Annie2017-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Carol's place is superb and very comfortable. It was very hot in NY the 5 days we stayed there and we really appreciated to have the A/C in the room. It's ideally located in Lower east side: there is a lot of bars and restaurant at within walking distance and the subway is 200m away from the flat. There are also a few delis around if you fancy preparing your breakfast or your lunch. Carol wasn't in NY the time we stay there but she arranged everything for us and was in contact with us all the time to make sure everything was fine. The ideal place to visit NY!

    Valérie2013-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Highlights: 1. Great hosts: Carol was super responsive and accommodating. She made it easy to leave our bags early and late. Marc was a busy businessman but made sure to introduce himself and welcome us into their home. 2. Private and quiet: private elevator, private BATH (hard to find in NYC in AirBnB for this price, and private patio exit. Oh, and the room had its own AC control! 3. Clean: sounds like it should be a given but we stayed in one location that looked better online than in person and Carol's flat was immaculate. What you see is what you get! Even the entrance and elevator were nice. 4. Location: amazing spot! Lower East Side is where all the good eating and bars are. Plus we were a couple blocks from diff metro options. NYC is generally safe but this spot was well lit, on a corner with lots of traffic. We stayed in a spot Chelsea where it was dark and often bums asked is for cigarettes. I felt safer here, lots of your professionals and Asians ;). 5. Value: you can't get this awesome of a place for this price, and it speaks for itself because it was booked solid, so we could only do 2 nights instead of an entire week. Next time we have to plan well in advance! We are definitely coming back!!

  • Jeffrey is a warm friendly creative man who gives a personal touch, and his knowledge of New York is invaluable. It is like staying with a friend.

    Sandy2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey is really nice and helpful. He helped me out with directions and I had a nice stay! He is a real artist! The location is really great, in the middle of Manhattan and close to a lot of trains. Thank you Jeffrey!

    Claire2019-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey is an incredible host. I would absolutely stay here again on my next trip to NYC. He was so accommodating and hospitable and it was just a joy to stay here!

    Catherine2019-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with Jeffrey was something special. The apartment is also his art studio, and it was a wonderful space to be in- very tidy and put together, but with a unique creative vibe. Jeffrey himself was nothing but kind and generous. You get the big bedroom. He's got any toiletry imaginable in case you happened to forget. He made breakfast. And of course besides that, he's a fascinating conversationalist. I think we stayed up past 3 am just chatting over tea; come for the room, stay for the conversation. I came in out of pure luck on a last minute booking (flight pushed back), and even with the surprise, everything was phenomenal.

    David2017-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Best place to stay! Jeffery is so knowledgeable about the area and gives the best advice, and makes such great food! He was super accommodating, letting me come early/stay late because of the way my bus was scheduled! I love him so much!!!!

    Osman2018-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey was an outstanding host. He was very easy to work with and very accommodating. His apartment is within easy walking distance to Broadway and is located in the midst of so many fine restaurants. His apartment is immaculately clean. He is a great host who went out of his way to insure my comfort. Easy to talk to and he has great suggestions on what to see that are beyond the regular tourist attractions. He does not stop there! Besides his delicious brewed tea he provided a delicious breakfast. Truly a five star host with a five star location. I would absolutely stay here again.

    Jim2018-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey is a great host. He provides great tips of local dining and travel. Keeps you engaged when you are at his place. You truly feel at home.

  • I felt welcomed by Jeffery the entire time I stayed with him. Jeffery was a most gracious host and a very creative and fun person to hang out with. I am grateful I found his artist experience space to be most comfortable.

The space fits four and is centrally located on a Historic quiet street. This unit is loaded with cable and wifi. Just blocks away from public transportation A and G train lines. And minutes away from the bus route B25 B26 and the B44. Come and explore the charm of Bed-Stuy and all the Historic's. I love this neighborhood. !

  • So comfortable. Perfect place to call home for a long weekend.

  • We spent one week in Michelle's appartment in October. The appartment was clean and fit with the description. It's about 30min from downtown New York but on an express train station so we didn't faced any problem to get to the apartment even late at night. Michelle was easy to contact and respond very quickly wich is very convenient. I definitly recommand this apartment.

    Romain2018-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time with this little slice of Brooklyn history as home base. It's within easy walking distance of public transportation, including the LIRR (to & from airport) Not surprisingly, plenty of good food in the area, and major sites in Manhattan are a subway ride away. Check-in was smooth and easy.

    Gail2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle's place is quiet and comfortable, in a beautiful neighbourhood. It's a short walk to the subway, with lots of shops nearby. Michelle checked in regularly to make sure everything was going okay.

    Elizabeth2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was very clean and exactly as described. Michelle was very helpful and a quick responder. We would highly recommend!

    Claire2019-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and clean place. Spacious for two or even three people. The front door doesn't have a number but the place next door does so it wasn't too difficult to figure out that it was the right place.

    Jasmine2019-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for having us!

    Taylor2019-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle is a generous, authentic, wonderful host and we were so happy to meet her. The house is in a great spot, has everything to make the stay comfortable - we'd love to go back as well as recommend it to others. A big shout out to Jay as well, her tenant who is a great guy and very helpful.

We had a marvellous time with Christoph and Charisse. With a subwaystation around the corner, eveything in NYC was easy to reach! After a long day it is very nice to relax on the roofterrace and we had even a private cinema evening.

Evelyn was an awesome host! :) She was home when we arrived and showed us the space we would be using while we were there, as well as made recommendations for things to do in her neighborhood, including places to eat, from fancy to casual. We were welcomed into her home as if we were friends or relatives who had come to spend the weekend, not as paying guests. It was an awesome experience for me and I will definitely use Airbnb again when I have the chance to travel in the future.
