There is no better location in Sydney. You'll be within walking distance of all the major attractions in the CBD with transport at your door. You'll be within one kilometre of: - 4 train stations - 6 bus routes - Sydney (centrepoint) tower - Town Hall - Queen Victoria Building - Kings Cross - Martin Place - St Mary's Cathedral - Art Gallery of NSW - Australian Museum - Hyde Park - Domain - Botanical Gardens - Cowper Street Wharf - Stanley St - Oxford St - Surry Hills - 4 Supermarkets
This is a bright, cross-ventilated 1980's apartment. Both bedrooms have built-in wardrobes and the lounge room is comfortable, offering Foxtel TV and wi-fi connection. The furniture is a bit dated, but is functional and comfortable. The apartment has one bathroom, internal laundry and a small but functional kitchen. It also has beautiful view of the cathedral and views over Woolloomooloo towards Sydney Harbour.
Directly across the road from the apartment is Hyde Park which is the venue for many festivals and the night noodle markets. It sits beside the beautiful and historic St Mary's Cathedral and the Cook & Phillip sports facilities, complete with gym, basketball courts and an Olympic-sized indoor heated swimming pool. Surry Hills and Stanley St are great for lovers of food and wine, while Kings Cross and Oxford St offers nightclubs that are open until the early hours of the morning. The Australian Museum is directly across the road from the building while The Art Gallery of NSW is a short walk across the Domain offering some of the best artworks from local and international artists. The Domain often offers outdoor concerts, film festivals and dance parties throughout the year, while the Botanical Gardens offers the tranquillity of nature while overlooking the icons of Sydney Harbour - The Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. Darling Harbour and Circular Quay are both vibrant with nightly fireworks and entertainment. Each have restaurants, bars and nightclubs, and both offer ferries which can take you across the other side of the harbour to explore more of Sydney's harbourside suburbs such as Manly, Balmain or Taronga Zoo. Town Hall is the main train station in Sydney and is a short stroll from your front door. The neighbouring Queen Victoria Building, Pitt Street Mall and Centrepoint Westfield offer a vast array of shopping vendors and food outlets.

ABOUT THE LOCATION: Rich with local history, culture and sophistication, Potts Point is an ideal place to stay or visit. Situated within Sydney City, just a short 20-minute walk to the CBD and a stone's throw from Kings Cross Railway Station, so you can easily catch a train to some of Sydney's beaches major attractions. Sydney Buses, Taxis and Car Share / Hire are also readily available in the immediate vicinity. Daily visitor car parking vouchers are available on request. ☺ PERSONAL SAFETY? We live in the area with our six-year-old daughter, as does many young families these days. Macleay Street has gentrified over the last ten years, and Potts Point is one of the most on-trend and affluent areas of Sydney. The area is highly populated and using simple common sense it's easy to stay safe. CAR SHARE IS AVAILABLE! Forget car rentals. Highly recommended and right outside the front door are two "GoGet" car-share "pods" and there are more than 20 GoGet cars within a two-minute walk. No need to worry about parking when you get back to the apartment if you sign up for these share cars - parking is free! Foreign licences are accepted, we will give you the address for the information pack and activation card. You should register before you leave home. Search for GoGet car share Sydney. Look for the FAQs. ASK US FOR OUR EXCLUSIVE PROMO CODE TO SAVE THE $50 JOINING FEE! EATING OUT? Dozens of restaurants, cafes and bars are on your doorstep. Plenty is happening in the area, and some of Sydney's best restaurants are a short walk (Otto - at the Finger Wharf, or Macleay Street Bistro, down the road, just two examples). One of Sydney's best new cafes (Room 10 - Voted in SMH Good Cafe Guide) is 10m from your door, and there are loads of great places to eat and drink nearby. Wilbur’s Place (100m) and Bourke Street Bakery (200m) are just around the corner. You’re also just a short walk to the Italian hub of Stanley Street; a 20 min walk into the city, via the Domain and Hyde Park; a 20-minute walk (or less) to trendy Surry Hills. I’ll leave you a list of my favourite eating spots on check in. COOKING IN? The apartment is 100 metres from the excellent Harris Farm supermarket (or there's an even bigger supermarket within 200 metres), and there's a Farmers’ Market every Saturday only 80m walk away. I'll also leave the kitchen all set up with oil, vinegar, etc. so you can just focus on the main ingredients. There's even a high-end caterer - "Sides & Main" - on your street, selling gourmet meals from their shop-front, so if you are too lazy to cook but want to eat in. Too easy. NIGHTLIFE? Everyone knows neighbouring Kings Cross is famous for nightlife, but you may NOT know that its areas (Potts Point, Darlinghurst, Woollomoolloo and East Sydney) include some of Sydney's best areas to eat and drink in, all within a 5-minute walk. There are lots of small hip bars in the area - including on fabulous Llankelly Place, just near your building. You can also walk 10 minutes to Oxford Street clubs, or just 20 minutes to the centre of Sydney (Rocks, Circular Quay, etc.). I'll give you plenty of tips on arrival. If you like your nightlife more serene Govindas lounge cinema is about 5 minutes up the road, the Old Fitzroy Pub (so much character!) has a cheap theatre attached, and a great vibe. There are also numerous other local theatres and cinemas within walking distance. (I’ll leave you a few suggestions for all of this on check in). SIGHTSEEING? Walk to Hyde Park or the Botanic Gardens; the Opera House (probably 30 minutes, via Hyde Park and the Botanic Gardens); or short bus/train to Bondi Beach or other eastern suburbs beaches. Potts Point is in Sydney’s centre but has easy access to beaches, the famous Bondi-Bronte walk, and Sydney Harbour (I’ll leave you tips with my favourite picnic spots and nearby walks). WORKING? Walk into the city, so easy! Potts Point is walking distance to George Street and the main centre of Sydney. The apartment is also about 15 minutes walk UNSW’s College of Fine Arts on Oxford Street, a quick bus to UNSW, easy commute to The University of Sydney. The apartment is a 10-minute walk to St Vincents’ Hospital. There's unlimited wireless internet in the apartment so getting online is no problem. GYM'S, YOGA & PILATES? The apartment is located on the same street as P.E. Dept Gym and Fitness First is 5 minutes away. There are also a few boutique Yoga and Pilates classes in the local area. Just tell us what you want to do, and we will advise you on some of the options. PLEASE NOTE: The Potts Point apartment IS up three levels of stairs. That's 60 steps in total folks. No problem for healthy adults (whoever checks you in will be happy to assist you with bags), but just letting you know... Washing machine and dryer are one level up in the building (coin operated). Plus I've installed a great drying rack in the bathroom in case you want to handwash anything. Yes, there IS a hairdryer! iMac Computer is provided with ADSL2+ WiFi internet, of course! Also unlimited free local calls available on the land-line telephone. If you require extra bedding for the sofa bed and you are not paying for a third guest, there is a one-time $25 surcharge for the additional laundry charges we incur. One-time and not per night. An Infant cot is also available for a one-time $25 fee. We ask guests to leave $25 on the table for our cleaners who manages the laundry services. The extra bedding set for the 3rd guest comprises of 1 x flat sheet + 1 x fitted sheet + 1 duvet cover + 1 x duvet + 2 x pillow covers and pillows. There are also a couple of soft blankets to put under and over the bedding for extra comfort. The location is superb, but the Kings Cross area IS busy on a Friday/Saturday night. This is an action-packed part of town; one reason it's great to stay here. While the apartment itself is quiet, and I doubt you'll ever hear the neighbours, you might hear some noise from the street at night on the weekends. I think the location is totally worth it, but forewarned is forearmed, so they say! Cars - Parking is available nearby but is a hassle, and it's expensive. Daily visitor car parking vouchers are available on request with a fee. Car rental locations are close by and GoGet car share is easy and available close by. Locals walk everywhere or use the buses and trains as the location is central and easy to navigate. If you have a car, I'll give you tips on where to park long-term, and it's less than 5 minutes walk away. Kings Cross train station is only 300m walk away from the apartment. There are windows, but sorry, no view. Although this place is so close to the city you can see the Harbour Bridge from the laundry room (see, washing IS worthwhile), and Centerpoint tower from Orwell Street outside. However you don't need them through a window - they're just walking distance away!
Rich with history, culture and sophistication, Potts Point is an ideal place to stay or visit for those who want to enjoy the picturesque surroundings of a bygone era and still be close to everything Sydney has to offer. Potts Point situated within Sydney City is just a short 20-minute walk to the CBD and a stone's throw from Kings Cross Railway Station, so you can easily catch a train to some of Sydney's major attractions. Sydney Buses, Taxis and Car Hire are also readily available in the immediate vicinity. As for dining out, Victoria St, and in particular Macleay St, are dotted with a range of restaurants to suit all tastes. Kings Cross, Darlinghurst Rd offers a countless number of nightclubs, bars and theatres for those who enjoy the nightlife. Or for the more subdued there are plenty of parks, museums and harbour side charm in the neighbouring suburbs.

My 34 sqm studio is quietly tucked away yet in the middle of everything. There are a gazillion cafes/bars/supermarkets right downstairs and weekend markets across the road. A pleasant walk by the water takes you to the art gallery, botanic gardens and opera house.
The apartment is on the border between the red light district (home to some hard characters, weekend party-goers and backpackers) and the gentrified part of the neighbourhood (the 'Paris end' of Potts Point). The 1937 building, originally nurses quarters, is quite dilapidated but retains its period charm. My flat is renovated so feels fresh. The shower temperature can be tricky to get just right so I often took baths living there, and the bath is nice and deep. Nestled between other apartments overlooking the high street and rear laneway, my flat is on the first floor and faces into a lightwell. This means there is no grand vista but also no street noise, and it's temperate with plenty of natural light. It feels spacious for a studio as the bathroom, kitchen, walk-in wardrobe and bed nook are separate from the central living area. Below is a patisserie so kitchen sounds and smells can waft up (I've never found this too intrusive but some guests have mentioned it, see reviews). The most frequent positive feedback I get is around the apartment's decoration/style and location.
I love the harbour-side walk to the Andrew Boy Charlton swimming pool, across the water from the strangely beautiful naval base. The Saturday food markets have a great vibe (I recommend The Butchers Table stall sandwiches and the Vietnamese salads and pho) and the patisserie right next door does amazing chocolate mousse cake and croissants. If you exit the back door of the building you open it onto a tiny hole-in-the-wall cafe called Room 10 which does excellent, and marvellously convenient, coffee. The walk to Beare Park on the water takes you through residential streets with nice art deco architecture and past the historic Elizabeth Bay House, which itself has a lovely public garden across the road - both good spots for a picnic. Rushcutter's Bay is a more expansive park, good for jogging, frizbee, playgrounds etc. There is a lot of nightlife in the area - the gay clubbing precinct is nearby, tawdry Kings Cross is in full swing on weekend nights and there are some more sophisticated small bars in Potts Point and on Victoria Street. Close to Sydney's major attractions, the area is full of hotels & hostels, a tourist information booth and places to hire travelling vans, book outback adventures etc. Airport shuttle buses loop around the streets every half hour or so and the hop-on hop-off city tour bus stops outside my building.

This Art Deco building is over 100 years old, still with the original lime render and deep set windows. It's measures in at roughly 38 square meters (400 square feet) large which is typical for apartments of this age in the area.
The apartment is situated right in the heart of Potts Point. The area is home to cutting-edge theatre and comedy, hip bars and cafes, stylish restaurants, food markets and intriguing history. Beautifully executed, this brand new pied-a-terre is in the heart of Potts Point. Every surface, fitting and fixture has been carefully curated to create the perfect space for your stay in Sydney. Stepping outside, you're at the doorstep of the very best dining and entertainment that the city has to offer. The harbour and beaches are a stone's throw. Little touches inside such as quality linens and soaps, fine teas, lots of candles and excellent books help make this space truly special.
Pure luxury in every way (space, style, history, location), this art-deco apartment with contemporary features is nothing short of exquisite. Built in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) and renovated from the ground up at great expense in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , it features generous proportions, double-height ceilings and chic inclusions. Magnificent finishes dovetail with the finest furniture to create a uniquely comfortable place from which to enjoy your time in Potts Point - Sydney's premier locale for dining and entertainment. This truly is an exceptional space, easily comparable to the finest boutique suites at more than triple the price, perfectly located in one of the very best parts of town. Furniture and Appointments: The living area features a beautiful and soothingly restful armchair by Minotti, a stunning vintage Hollywood regency dining table flanked by contemporary dining chairs by Moooi and a mid-century side table in marble by Florence Knoll. The space is a stunning setting for an elegant dinner, and is useful as a workspace if need be. Rounding out the picture are solid marble and brass pieces (including marble wall lighting and a 15kg Champagne stand) by Tom Dixon and a stunning ‘Arrangements’ pendant by Michael Anastassiades for Flos. The kitchen is custom built, featuring a one-of-a-kind pearlescent black finish and extensive use of solid pietra grey marble, which was cut from a single massive slab. Appliances (induction hob, integrated dishwasher et al) are by Barazza, Miele and Smeg and there is a unique integrated fridge and freezer concealed within a mirrored wall. The space is sublime. The stunning bathroom features extraordinary tiling from Spain, original (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) s terrazzo, a brass mirror from Denmark and a deep, full-size bath with a rainfall shower. All fittings are natural brass and lighting (also in brass) is by Tom Dixon. There is unlimited hot water so you can enjoy a long, luxurious shower or bath. The bedroom features a custom-made contemporary bedhead, a supremely comfortable mattress and a dense collection of art and fashion books. There is another ‘Arrangements’ pendant and some more brass wall lighting, this time laser-cut, by Tom Dixon. The bedroom looks onto a private garden, and there are full block-out blinds for late-risers and sufferers of jetlag. The Building and what’s Adjacent: ‘Sandringham’ [Architect - Claud Hamilton] was completed nearly a century ago. It is situated on Springfield Avenue, one of Sydney’s most picturesque streets, and has direct rear access to the fashionable restaurant scene of Lankelly Place. Within 100 meters there are world-class restaurants and bars, a top-notch greengrocer, an artisan butcher and an excellent bakery (which has just opened in New York, where it has queues down the street). There is an organic farmers market on Saturdays and Sundays, a mere 60m away. The Locale: From the front door, one can turn right and further enjoy the Parisienne neighbourhood of Potts Point, or turn left and explore the liveliness and drama of Kings Cross and Darlinghurst. Sydney’s finest dining and entertainment is directly adjacent, no matter which direction you go. Waterfront parks are a five minute stroll away. The CBD is a stunning fifteen minute harbourside stroll. Woolloomooloo’s finger wharf, the Royal Botanical Gardens, AGNSW and the Andrew Boy Charlton Pool (Australia’s most spectacular public swimming pool) are all along the way. The Opera House is ten minutes by Uber, Bondi Beach is twenty minutes. If you’re looking to go further afield, a train station is only a few hundred meters away. Please do note that due to its location, nature and popularity, this lively neighbourhood is not always whisper-quiet (indeed on weekends it can be audibly boisterous). Having said that, the apartment itself is private and peaceful. The Small Details: Thoughtful inclusions make the space extra special. Cushions are mohair. A Dyson air purifier and heater will help keep you comfortable. The glassware is by Riedel. Dinnerware by Seletti and Menu. Pans are by All-Clad. Sound by Bang & Olufsen. There are candles aplenty (these being the perfect accompaniment for a long soak in the deep bathtub). A kettle from (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) by Richard Sapper features two brass whistles that sing a melody when the water boils. There is finest quality tea (for coffee, head just outside for some of Sydney’s best), and I supply an excellent local extra virgin olive oil for cooking and finishing dishes. You’ll also enjoy good soaps, quality linens and towels (all professionally laundered) and a Dyson Supersonic hair dryer. Further, the apartment’s electricity is carbon neutral. Everything in the space has been carefully crafted and curated to help give you an unparalleled experience during your time in Sydney - about $ (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) has been spent on the space in the last year alone. This is not a cookie-cutter Airbnb listing run at minimum cost by the host. It is my own home, built and maintained to my own standards. I'd be delighted to share it with you.
“Largely occupied by Sydney’s well heeled (and well fed), Potts Point is something of an inner city oasis with a Parisian twist. With many of Sydney’s trademark attributes, such as spectacular harbour views and leafy streets, this historic neighbourhood, just east of the city centre, is also characterised by stunning Art Deco architecture, a buzzing cafe culture and designer lapdogs out for their daily stroll. Stretching from vibrant Darlinghurst and lively Kings Cross to the south, alongside photogenic Woolloomooloo Wharf, up to Garden Island to the north, Potts Point is for those who enjoy the finer things in life.” - Alissa Jenkins (australia.com)
