Small 1740s farmhouse located on three acres with gardens, free range chickens, and creek. One of three bedrooms available with shared simple bath upstairs, kitchen & dining area and large open living room with wood stove, piano, and quiet spaces for reading/studying/ working. Empty dresser in room, & closet for hanging clothes. Friendly dog who likes to bark at passing horse & buggies, & will definitely be excited to meet you. Will bark, but does calm down. Also, a friendly indoor/outdoor cat.
House is organized and neat, but also lived in and a work in progress (things are not perfect... there are walls that still need to be painted and other work to be done). Ceilings are low. Shower ceiling is even lower (slanted ceiling... previous owner was 6'4" and I have no idea how he did it?!? I think 6' and shorter would be comfortable with shower...). Heat, space heaters in room (I keep heat low) and wood stove in living room, window AC units in summer. Free range chickens on the property, and guests are welcome to eggs when we have eggs them. During summer months I also have plenty of vegetables from the garden which guests can enjoy. French press coffee maker, nice stove, space in fridge. No microwave. Deck looking out over gardens, creek, and visiting wildlife (deer, great blue herons, red-tailed hawks, many birds, etc). Hammocks in yard & by creek. Picnic tables in yard for outdoor dining.
A roadside farmhouse surrounded by farms (including a mennonite pick your own farm 2 min's down the road). Nearby attractions: 10 minutes to Kutztown University, 5 minutes to the Rodale Institute, 15 minutes to the Lehigh Valley Velodrome, and 20 Minutes to Hawk Mountain, Leaser Lake, the Appalachian Trail, Bear Creek Resort, Cabelas, and Dorney Park (Allentown).
  • Good for a one night layover.

  • Jon was a great host, his place was easy to find, & we were very comfortable while we were there. He also gave us some good recommendations of things to do in Kutztown!

    Kyle2019-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jon has a lovely home and the open room is very spacious, clean, and inviting. There is a happy dog on the property as well, I would be wary if you are not comfortable with dogs, however dont shy from the barks- someone just wants a belly rub. Jon is a nice and responsive host, and I would recommend this place.

    Amy2019-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a welcoming place. Jon warned us in his review that Tinkering Farms was a work in progress, we knew exactly what to expect. Jon showed us around and gave us a great sense of comfort. We enjoyed sitting on the deck with some wine and relaxing. If you are looking for elegance and being pampered at a hotel, this is not the place for you. If you love an outdoor farm feel with a gentle breeze and clean room......this is it.

    Deborah2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Charming little house in the countryside. Jon is a gracious and accommodating host.

    Karl2019-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Jon's home is a wonderful spot to spend a night or weekend. Both he and his furry housemates are welcoming and we had an easy time working out of the house while we were here. I couldn't recommend the space enough.

    Tom2019-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jon was a kind a thoughtful host. His house was very clean, and peaceful. He was very responsive to us and accommodating for our slightly weird schedule and had a great list of local recommendations. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

  • Jon's place is quaint and welcoming! Very easy to coordinate arrival and departure, adorable room with lovely decor.

Charming rural oasis nestled between Allentown & Reading, everything downtown Kutztown offers is within walking distance. Guests may use the kitchen, wifi, and in-room coffee station, as well as play pool or darts in the game room. Whether you're here for the shops and eateries on Main Street, antiquing at Renninger's farmer's market, or an event at the university, Kutztown has something for everyone! I have another bedroom listed on here. You can book both bedrooms if they are available.
  • I absolutely loved my stay. Kutztown is an adorable little place with a number of restaurants (and a pub) within walking distance. I was there “for antiquing” and her place has great access to the 222 for if you’re headed to Adamstown as well (there is a Renniger’s Market right up the road from her place too). I already am planning my next trip back and hoping her place will be available!

    Kali2019-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Caecilia's place is a beautiful and clean place to stay. It was within walking distance to downtown which was what i was really looking for when choosing a place to stay at in Kutztown.

    Mari2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Caecilia was quick to respond when I asked for a last minute room while I was in the middle of a long drive. I had planned to just crash when I got there, but I ended up spending time with her and her boyfriend - they were both very kind and easy to get along with (but not in an obtrusive way)

    Maurine2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Caecilia and her friend Ryan are really down-to-earth and nice. They made me feel welcome and made it clear I could hang with them or have my own space. Their living space is really cool, with interesting decor. The room I slept in had nice architecture and a good bed (and quality bedding). As for Kutztown, it’s great for runners and bikers. I took some nice long runs with seemingly infinite cornfields on either side of me. And I recommend the local (public) pool. It’s huge, with an extra pool for kids, and is open to non-residents for a small fee.

    Jonas2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Caecilia is a lovely woman and let me stay on the fly when I had to pull off the highway bc of torrential rains. I’d definitely stay again if I was in the area

    Holly2019-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • A nice, simple place to stay in a beautiful home.

    Kaitlyn2019-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Caecilia's place was perfect for my one-night stay after the Kutztown Folk Festival. Right off Main Street, parking available out front. Caecilia was very communicative, and I had no problem arriving/departing. I never saw my hosts & felt I had the house to myself. The front porch has mason jars with twinkle lights & a cute cat greeted me. The house is rustic & charming, old hardwood floors, the room has a ceiling fan, comfortable bed & pillows, and a velvet Elvis on the wall! The bathroom is unrenovated (old) & clean. A good value & communicative host!

Our cabin is your portal to rest, peace and tranquility! Inside is a cozy, comfortable retreat and when you step out the back door it's like entering a little piece of paradise. We're told that it's the perfect place for a writer or artist to release their creativity but it's also a great place for a couple's or family getaway.
Our one room cabin is conveniently furnished with a kitchenette, seating area, expandable dining table and queen bed. A sofa provides comfortable seating and opens into a queen size bed. The kitchen includes a full sized fridge, electric range, running hot and cold water and is equipped with the basics in pots and pans, dishes, cups and utensils. There is a heating and cooling unit that will keep the cabin comfortable during all seasons. A small enclosed bathroom inside the cabin holds a compost toilet. Shower facilities are inside the farmhouse which is only a short walk from the cabin. The back porch of the cabin is an idyllic spot in itself, as it overlooks a large creek. It's the perfect place to enjoy a cup of morning coffee or to eat your lunch at the picnic table with the sounds of the creek flowing just below the bank. There is a small private yard to the back of the cabin with a fire ring for cooking if you prefer to make your meals outdoors. The creek that flows through the front of our property is great for wading, fishing, critter catching, tubing, etc. Guests are also welcome to walk through the woods to collect hickory nuts or to pick berries from the many varieties of berry bushes around the property.
We are off the beaten path, which is why so many people comment about how quiet and peaceful it is here. The nearest town, Virginville, is only a mile away but don’t blink or you’ll miss it! Kutztown, where Kutztown University is located, is only ten minutes away. There you can find groceries, gas, cafes, a small local movie theater and other quaint stores and shoppes.
  • We had a great time at the cabin! The farm and surrounding area are beautiful! Our favorite spot was the back patio that overlooks a stream- a great spot to enjoy coffee or have a meal at the picnic table. Joy was very upfront and communicative ahead of time about weather conditions and responded quickly to all messages. Would definitely stay here again!

    Lee2018-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • For anyone looking for a secluded place near Kutztown this was very nice. Complete privacy in your own cottage by the stream.

    Scott2018-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Joy's farm cottage. Joy was a considerate, communicative, attentive host. She has excellent taste and the cottage was very clean and well furnished. We like to cook, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The space behind the cabin overlooking the creek was a great place to sit and enjoy our peaceful surroundings. There were also trails on the property Joy encouraged us to explore. We would definitely stay again!

    Joshua2017-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Joy is an incredibly considerate and communicative host. We were provided with every possible amenity needed. The space was clean, well-stocked, and located on a gorgeous farm. Would highly recommend for any trip to Kutztown.

    Shenin2018-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Joy’s cottage is everything you could need for a relaxing weekend out of the city. We were doing a short ‘retreat’ for some planning around a dissertation and the cottage was perfect. On the property, but private. Beautiful surroundings, very relaxing. Joy and Dave provide all the amenities you need and more. We hope to return!

    Laura2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place was the absolute best. Even though we arrived way earlier than expected, Joy made it work out for us. The cabin was beautiful, the sunroom was beautiful, and we felt at home. Even though there were barely any reception, that gave us a bigger reason to go explore around. I can definitely say it is worth it. It’s was amazing, Joy and here husband were very welcoming and the animals and views are to die for. I will definitely be booking again! (I love the cows and sheep’s :) )

    Elexus2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Joy's cottage is situated on a lovely, quiet farm in the peaceful countryside of Pennsylvania. We had a very relaxing weekend escape away from the chaos of the city. We would definitely recommend this home for a charming get away.

    Monica2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very much enjoyed my stay in this private, relaxing space. The covered back porch was perfect for doing yoga while listening to the babbling creek... especially since it rained for a lot of our stay. The AC and fridge were a bit noisy the first night. Fortunately, there was a ceiling fan so we just kept the AC off after that. Would definitely like to stay here again! Very much appreciate the hospitality, flexibility, and kindness!

NOTE: This property is not zoned for student housing, and therefore it is NOT AVAILABLE to Kutztown University students or ANYONE 25 YEARS OR UNDER. Additional Note: Unfortunately, because of the small window of time to turn the suite for incoming guests, we cannot accommodate an early check-in or late check-out (Check-in: 4PM, Check-out: 11AM).
The Modern Barn Suite is part of a post and beam carriage house that was built during the turn of the century. Over the years, the structure has evolved into several different living spaces and now exists as a two bedroom home (which is a separate listing on Airbnb - if interested, please inquire about its availability) and the attached in-law suite (this listing). The current style of the in-law suite can be described as modern rustic with mid-century influences. It consists of a full bedroom, separate living room, and a small area to eat and/or work. There is a private entrance and parking space included. This 1 BR suite is great for a single traveler or a couple but can accommodate up to 4 guests. It is cozy and comfortable with modern amenities such as a new cast iron soaking bathtub, flatscreen tv, small fridge and a Keurig. The space is perfect if you are in town for work or exploring the area for a few days.
The property is located in the middle of Kutztown, one block from restaurants, bars, and shops on Main Street. Kutztown is a college town and the University is just an 8 minute walk from the house. The University often has events, speakers, etc. scheduled year round. During the summer months, the neighborhood is fairly quiet and relaxed. As college towns go, it is more lively during the academic year from September through early May. There is student housing throughout Kutztown and the students can be heard from time to time on the weekends. There has never been a problem regarding excessive noise during the school year. There is plenty to do in this charming town. If you are interested in a quick bite, there are great options along Main Street such as Mexican, vegan wraps, and craft beer and BBQ. Next door to our house is HIVE, an organic farm to table café offering a variety of local goodies, prepared foods, coffee, and drinks. In addition, there are local shops and specialty stores to explore, and a movie theater all within walking distance.
  • Heathers place was jsut what I needed for my stay in Kutztown. Great location. Homey enviroment and easy check in! Would def recommend or stay again!

    Rebecca2018-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the suite and it was lovely - immaculate and comfortable in the heart of downtown. Check in was smooth, Jaime and Heather were easily reachable, helpful, and very responsive. The bed was very comfy, the linens were high quality, the towels were plentiful, and the bathtub is really nice. We would certainly try to stay here again on future trips. Pay attention to the parking situation - make sure you read the house instructions on where to park. The house has designated parking spots that are kind of hidden in the back corner of the lot - do not park next to the house on the house side, if school is in session you will be towed!

Please help a disabled veteran family while you stay in the private BR in 1880s home. Our home was originally the local general store, post office and pony express hotel. George Washington's troops slept across the street. Some have been worried. Some have been scared. Some have claimed to see orbs. All have been warmly welcomed! She is far from perfect but comfy enough to have a nice time in the country. We do have friendly pets. 1 cat and 1 old dog who believes everyone comes to see her.
We have 2 acres of fenced pasture for up to a week stay. Owners must remain on the premises with their large animals unless prior discussion occurs.
We are a cross of old country farms and new developments.
  • Wonderful place! Rustic. Their pets were super friendly. Their niece Paige was very nice. I was able to get really good sleep in a comfortable bed and warm room

  • What a great old farm house! I really loved its charm! Mike and Michelle were gracious and friendly guests. I only stayed for the afternoon and night but felt very comfortable. I would stay again.

  • Caecilia was very helpful, responsive, and communicative. I appreciated that the check in process was straightforward and her place was easy to find. She was also sweet to invite me to play trivia locally. I got in later and didn't get a chance to meet her, but Ryan made me coffee the following morning. They both seem very friendly and welcoming. The space was simple and clean. Not the most comfortable bed, but it worked for a night. The bathroom was very small but had the essentials. This was a good, very few frills option that seemed to be fairly priced.

    Beth2019-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great value and location. Clear communication with hosts. Clean, comfortable and as described. Looking forward to staying again next weekend.

    Anita2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice quiet neighborhood especially during the night. Spacious rooms and a very unique interior design complimented by the entire layout of the house. Clean, secure, and comfortable enough for me to stay here again.

    Marcus2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Would not recommend staying at Caecilia’s place unless you are a college student with very low expectations and don’t mind being woken up late at night with others coming in the front door and making noise getting into their rooms... sorry... probably the worse AirB&B experience in all my years! So unfortunate...

    Sharon2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and value. Comfortable rooms and bed. Communication from the host was very clear and responsive. After staying multiple times, for those peeps who are sound sensitive, the rooms are on the alley side of the house and there is definitely street noise in the evening and early morning when the masonry crew across the alley arrive for work and get ready for the day! Seemed quiet during the night and I did sleep well.

One private BR in our 1880s home that was originally the local general store, post office & pony express hotel. She has been loved by many families. Far from perfect but comfy enough to have a nice time in the country. We do have pets. 1 cat & 1 old dog who believes everyone comes to see her. This is an old house. Old houses can get a little dusty despite daily cleaning and things don't shine like a new house. Think of the Walton's house and that's pretty close. Baths & kitchen cleaned daily.
A disabled veteran (Mike) maintains the grounds. Some days he is sore but it always gets done. Marines--Semper Fi. The outside has a fire pit and a great porch to chill on with your favorite beverage.
We are a cross of old country farms and new developments.
  • Very nicely place to stay for such an old house with new modem amenities. Worth a try if you need to save some money not for everyone but I liked living in a home not a lonely empty hotel room as I travel alone.

    April2019-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle and Mike were excellent hosts. They went over and above to accommodate my son last minute and respondedpromptly and efficiently to ALL communications!! They are a kind and generous couple and the accommodations are exactly as described. I would highly recommend their rustic farmhouse for a loving touch of home away from home.

Cozy home/ neighborhood in the woods of the Oley Valley, PA. Close to Reading, Pottstown, Allentown, Bethlehem, Lancaster, Boyertown, Kutztown (town and college), Wyomissing, and many more smaller town and cities. Address is Fleetwood, but we're closer to Oley as you will see on the map. 5 to 15 minute drive to shopping center, restaurants, gas station and even Dunkin Donuts! About 25 minute drive to the Limerick Outlets along freeway 422.
Private bedroom (with small kitchenette) and private full bath for your use. Common areas are the living room, kitchen, deck out front and patio in the back yard. You must have your own transportation. My schedule is hectic so guests are fully independent during the stay. Parking is in our private driveway, full, mature woodland surrounds our home and the neighborhood.
Restaurants in our area are particularly fantastic. On line searches for the great ones are as follows: Yellowhouse, Vincenzos, Bella Italian, Union Jacks, Mazollas for pizza (5 minutes from home and they deliver), the Bridge Inn, Stonersville, Snuzzles, and many more. Our favorite local ice cream stops are Jen and Jessie's and the Oley Dairy restaurant/ ice cream parlor (which also has a mini animal "zoo" in back which kids and adults alike enjoy walking through. Free admission and 25 cents per gumball machine share of pellet food for the animals. The consignment stores in our area are just awesome. If interested, ask me more about the details of 'back roads shopping ' in the Oley Valley!

  • This was our first time booking an AirBNB on our own and it was a wonderful experience. Heather was quick to respond to my messages, answered all of my questions prior to our stay and was extremely accommodating. Everything was very clean, cozy and stylish. All of the details about the house and our stay in our reservation were extremely helpful, especially the information about the one way street and parking. The location was perfect for us. The outdoor patio is comfortable, quiet and tranquil. I’ve already referred several family members that travel to the area about this rental and it is definitely a location we would love the opportunity to rent again in a future visit.

  • We had a great time in Pennsylvania for a short weekend trip. It was our first weekend away with our little boy and we really enjoyed having a full kitchen to cook and eat in. The separate bedroom was perfect and our baby had no problems sleeping. The minimalism and rustic decor made me feel right at home. I really appreciated the natural and organic products throughout the house. We had already brought a dohm sound machine for the baby but it was awesome to have the exact same one in the master bedroom already included. Thanks again for a wonderful experience! • My first experience . Wasnt sure what to expect. It was easy to find yet felt secluded. Beautiful scenery very cozy and relaxing. We were looking to get away for our 30th anniversary . Dennis & Sue were the perfect hosts . Was warmly greeted and given a welcome package . We were put at ease by the many options to contact them for anything we might need but they left us to enjoy their beautiful cottage undisturbed. Hope to stay there again .

  • Hey! Had an amazing night in New Tripoli. There’s cool stuff to do Michelle let me know about (close by and a short drive), the tent was comfortable, there’s a lot of space, Michelle’s family was kind and hospitable, -and I had a great time. If you want to camp in this area I would recommend it. Had a great night by a campfire, there was a charcoal grill available, and everyone was super friendly. The area wasn’t really buggy and there was nice shade even when it was hot. Really close to a highway as well. Thank you!

My cozy little house on the western edge of the Lehigh Valley offers a quiet, back-road getaway that resides near half a dozen wineries and is within a 30-minute drive to Bethlehem and the start of the Poconos, within 15 minutes to Kutztown and 20 to Allentown. I love the energy of this home and hope you will, too.
I live in a small, simple, ranch-style cottage in the woods in the Lehigh Valley, right on the border of Berks County. My living room window this filled with plants, and my refrigerator is full of organic vegetables, many of which I grow myself on my farm. I love being out here in the quiet country, and I feel very grateful to be able to share this house that brings me so much joy with others. The guest room hosts a queen-size bed, a desk and dresser, with the rest of the house open for use. During my season I am not around too often, except to sleep and rise early, but if you are up for visiting I would love to chat and show you where to find our farm and store!
This is a small neighborhood in the woods. We don't have many neighbors, and their is no street lighting. I love how dark it gets here. You can really see the moon and the stars.
  • Just as described. No cell service near by so be sure you have good directions for the last couple miles.

  • Liz is awesome, and her place is lovely, quiet, clean, quirky. It had everything I needed, and was pretty easy to find. Walking out on the deck in the morning with a hot cup of tea, late-night conversation at the kitchen table about life, sound of the pond nearby, fresh air, ability to have fresh bread and organic food - what more could one wish for!?!

  • Once a working farm in a former life, the Inn is a hidden gem near Fogelsville. It's convenient yet private. We enjoyed hearty breakfasts that featured plentiful, fresh fruit and cherry tomatoes. Deb also offers art classes and workshops, plus yoga classes, at the Inn, which seems like a perfect match for this historic house.

  • Charming art house with warmth and personality. Spotless, and so personally appointed I felt instantly at home. Deborah's homemade breakfast set my day off with a delicious start and she provided super helpful directions to help me navigate the morning commute. Although this was a business trip, my one night felt like a relaxing break. Wish I could come back more often!

  • Deborah was very welcoming. Even though she was getting ready to teach a yoga class, she took time to get us familiar with her home and get us into our room. She was very helpful with directions and places to see in the area. Her home has a good view of Allentown and sunrises.

    Charlene2016-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Cute farmhouse with beautiful property! She accommadated our needs for breakfast, even though we had to leave early. She's an excellent host!!!

    Stacey2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Deborah's place was quaint and spacious. She was a wonderful host and made an INCREDIBLE breakfast. She kindly took the time to sit down and chat about the area and how she came to run the air b and b as well as her art classes/weekends. And as an added bonus she was more than helpful by personally driving me out of the area on a back route so that I could avoid traffic! Amazing!

  • My girlfriend and I were only able to stay one night at Deb’s lovely place due to our schedules. But we wish we could have stayed longer and may return to do so. The place was very warm and welcoming. We loved the decor and theme of the whole place. It was clean, comfy, and spacious. Deb responded accurately and quickly to all our messages as well as treated us to breakfast and coffee in the morning. She gave us recommendations we could check out in the area. One that we definitely double down on the recommendation is the Blue Mountain vineyard. Also, within a 10 minute drive from Deb’s Air bnb is Premise Maid which is a adorable chocolate and ice cream shop we enjoyed. Then right before we left, Deb treated us to a quick painting lesson. It was a wonderful surprise and experience. You can see her work throughout the Airbnb. If you find yourself traveling through her part of town give her place a try.

  • Michelle & Mike are so very kind and generous. They offered us some of their shrimp boil & pie, and we snuggled their adorable husky and kitten. They gave us many amazing suggestions for places to take our two large dogs to keep them exercised and happy. The space is large with lots of potential but it was a bit unkempt making our set up and campfire more difficult. The house is also just off a main highway making it easy to get to but it was less than remote. It was lovely to connect with some very kind people.

  • Deborah was a great host. The stay came with a cooked breakfast which was worth the stay alone. The Inn has great positive energy and is very comfortable. When we arrived after dark, a fire was burning in a large gas fireplace in the Inn's main room which was wonderfully welcoming and delightful. Highly recommenced.

Deborah was quick to respond to any questions and we were able to come and go freely with the front door key pad. We also had a great breakfast served to us before we got on the road again. Thanks for the warm welcome!

He always responded immediately to my messages and went out of his way to help me with check out times, etc. The home is impeccably clean with brand new appliances and finishes. • Kermit’s aparment was exactly what we were looking for when we booked it: a comfy place with enough space to host a Thanksgiving dinner for our family. The dining area and kitchen are super spacious and it’s stocked with absolutely everything you need for a stay. We had a little issue with the wifi on the first day, but Kermit took care of it immediately. Bedroom and bathroom (there’s 2 of each) were comfy and well appointed, and spacious as well. Great location, close to many great places to eat and visit...or just to relax and enjoy being in on a cold day. 5 stars from us!

  • What an incredible place! The cottage is right next to the main house but is still very private, and the rest of the property is just beautiful. Caren gave us a tour of the grounds when we arrived and made sure we had fresh eggs throughout our stay. We made the most delicious omelettes with fresh cherry tomatoes and sage from the garden. The horses, dogs, and chickens were all super friendly. We were in town for my brothers wedding so we didn’t have much time to check out all of the trails, but we would love to come back again to take full advantage of the experience!

  • My husband and I are so happy to have stayed here for our first anniversary! Caren and David are wonderful hosts - their outlook on the farm and hard work is an absolute inspiration. You can spend so much time exploring the farm and discovering all of the new things you'll want to ask questions about. Caren and David will gladly answer your questions like, "What kind of tree is this?". I miss just walking outside and saying hello to all the animals - Matisse, Odin, Pepito, Dingo, Nikki and the chickens (didn't get all of their names!). I hope to be back, but in the meantime, I absolutely recommend staying here!

  • Caren's place is a truly magical place. The cottage has everything one needs with lovely touches everywhere, stylish and yet cozy. The land itself is pristine, with plenty of places to enjoy serene moments. Caren herself is an amazing host. She was so gracious in showing me and my daughter around, letting us hang out with the animals (my daughter is still talking about her dogs!) and providing great local tips on places to see. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway, this is the perfect spot. Highly recommend.

  • Caren's cottage was the most perfect weekend getaway. It was better than the pictures (which says a lot because the pictures are beautiful!) Caren and David were the perfect hosts and gave us plenty of privacy but were a joy to talk with about farm life and more. We enjoyed disconnecting for a couple days and loved getting farm fresh eggs right from the coop each morning. The spring tap water was delicious, too! The property was stunning and I will definitely be returning.

This room is great for a couple or someone trying to get away from the city or urban environment. Located on an island off a dirt road so privacy is a plus for this room. Has a great fishing spot on the river out back and it’s a cozy little place deep in the woods for a nice get away
One room with a single bed that’s nice for a couple who don’t mind sleeping close or a single person in need of an outdoor experience. We have a nice living room with a fireplace to keep you warm at night or propane heat/electric floorboards if that’s not your style. Firewood can be provided or bought. We do have ferrets and cats but they keep to themselves and will be kept in a seperate room if they’re an issue.
The nearest gas station is about 5 minutes up the road but other then that you’re surrounded by a few houses owned by my lovely neighbors.
  • I've been so many different airbnbs, probably the first one that I wouldn't recommend for anyone. My first impression when I entered the house was a strong cat urine smell. Lots of the sawdust (from ferrets and cats) were scattered throughout the entire house. I know in the description, it noted cats/ferrets, I didn't expect to see poop and smell urine throughout the ENTIRE home. I had a very difficult time staying there and actually only ended up staying 1 of the 2 nights I paid for. The couple was EXTREMELY nice and hospitable. They were apparently caught off guard to having a guest so when I left for a few hours, they cleaned up the entire home which helped, but I still wasn't able to have a good night sleep. Again, very hospitable couple and that's probably the only reason why I gave it two stars instead of one. They went up and beyond to provide me with their only air conditioner in my room plus a fan, clean sheets (because the others were covered in fur and I was worried about my allergies). Another thing that I found to be a bit unsettling was the fact that the bedroom door did NOT close shut all the way and it did not have a lock.

We can provide ride from ABE airport. Private BR in 1880s home. Our home was orig the general store, post office & pony express hotel. She has been loved by many families. She is far from perfect but comfy enough to have a nice time in the country. Think of the Walton's home. We have a cat & dog who believes everyone comes to see them. Back porch to relax on. We are close to many attractions. RV pkg. Kick back at the firepit. Walk the beautiful backroads past farms. We have 4 acres.
A disabled veteran (Mike) maintains the grounds. Some days he is sore but it always gets done. Marines--Semper Fi. The outside has a fire pit and a great porch to chill on with your favorite beverage.
We are a cross of old country farms and new developments.
  • Michelle is very friendly and helpful.

  • Michelle made me feel right at home, hospitality at it's best! Her place is quiet and relaxing. I'm definitely staying with them again when I'm back in the area!

  • Super awesome hosts who go above and beyond to make their guests feel like part of the family

    Lindsey2019-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts are absolutely delightful. Michelle responds quickly. We thought we had an Airbnb booked, but they cancelled, so Michelle was a true life saver. The house is a bit eccentric, but a comfortable place to stay. We loved meeting Michelle's family, especially the grandkids. If you are looking to meet really genuine people and have a bit of an adventure, spend some time at the 1880's house.

  • Wow I can’t say enough great things about this home and our entire stay! Donna was so wonderful.. so sweet, accommodating, quick to reply to anything we asked, super organized with helpful tips in the home, and many special touches upon our arrival! We felt so welcomed and so comfortable. The home was gorgeous and clean, and everything we needed was there. We booked this getaway to do something special and different for my 40th bday and it did not disappoint!! My family loved it and want to go back! Even the dog loved having so much gated land to run free! The property is GORGEOUS! It was great to watch my family all walk to the fence line throughout the weekend to take in the beauty and appreciate it as much as I did.. even the kids! So glad I found this amazing place it was exactly what I dreamed up. Thank you Donna for making my birthday unforgettable!

    Patty2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great place tucked away in Kutztown. The house is very private and better and bigger in person. Our host Donna was great and the place was super clean!

    Nate2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • If I had to be honest I would recommend this house to everyone possible! Great space for families & even better for friends! We let off fireworks in the HUGE backyard that we were able to let our dogs roam in because it was enclosed. I planned a scavenger hunt for my boyfriends birthday which included needing roses and rose petals. Donna got up early and went to boutiques to get the roses, then set up exactly the way I needed it too! Her jacuzzi and pool were to die for! It’s from well water on her private acres of land so she personally cleans it and disinfects for you making it the cleanest spa you’ve ever been in. She arrived during our stay to very quietly make sure all ph levels were correct. If I didn’t say hi I don’t think I would have noticed she was there! She left and it was like she never came! Very attentive, detail oriented , all around amazing host. And an even better place to vacation at! With separate men’s and women’s locker rooms you will hardly need a bathroom !!!

  • It was absolutely beautiful we could not have picked a better home for our getaway with our family. Everything was literally outstanding. We have recommended your location to our friends and look forward to visiting again in the future. You will not be disappointed, the pictures do not capture all of the amazing amenities.

    Jose2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for my sister's "bachelorette" weekend. There were 7 of us total and plenty of room. The house was clean when we arrived and Donna even had a vase full of flowers on the table for when we arrived. She also allowed us to check in earlier so we could start decorating before my sister arrived (the location was a surprise for my sister). Any questions I had about anything during our stay, Donna was very quick to respond, which was so helpful! Some of the girls talked about booking it for future vacations with their families. The views from the house were amazing! Would definitely reccomend for a girls weekend or family vacation.

  • My friends and I purchased tickets to see a concert in Hershey, while looking for places to stay nearby, The Pool House jumped out as the best option (we were extremely excited about it). With an almost 5 star rating, tons of positive reviews, and enough room for the group, the house seemed perfect for us. The concert was Saturday evening, so we wanted to arrive early enough to have some time to enjoy the pool and hot tub the house was centered around. The first problem arose when the host asked to push our check in time from 11am to after 12pm. Since we had an over 2 hour drive, this was an inconvenience, but decided to do food shopping nearby to waste some time. At 1pm we returned to the house to find the host still inside cleaning. We understand that sometimes other guests can be rude and leave a mess, but the host should not have had our check out times back to back to leave an ample amount of time for cleaning. Whether that is AirBNBs fault or the hosts, it should not be pinned on the guests. We decided to use the pool while the host stayed at the house until almost 4pm cleaning. There was also a spot in the yard where dog feces were covered with a towel, cigarette and cigar butts were along the ground. The whole bottom floor of the home smelled like marijuana, there were dirty dishes in the sink along with a used q-tip, dead flowers and petals on the floor upstairs and downstairs, a gray substance along the bottom of the refrigerator, leftover food and decorations from the previous guests, open drinks, and an open bottle of cooking oil on the counter. The bottom floor of the house continued to smell for the rest of the time we stayed there. Safe to say we stayed on the top floor for most of our stay. Lastly, before leaving for the concert, we could not get the door to lock. It was not until after we left the host informed us that she had changed the code at 730PM, which was over 8 hours from the check in time! This was incredibly alarming because this was a place we were not familiar with and we had left our belongings in an unlocked home for hours. Some of us had money, computers and other pricey items with us which could have been stolen. One of the guests came later in the day and as she was coming to the door she found a stranger coming out of the airbnb with a dog. She had gone through our things looking for an ID and it turns out she was supposed to be in the other house on the property, which the host also owns. After this, we felt extremely unsafe in the home and wanted to leave immediately. We are an understanding group of girls, however, were not made to feel comfortable about the situation especially when the host was still there. We had expected an apology from the host for the inconvenience she caused us, but received nothing. When you pay the price you had to pay for this airbnb, the guests should not feel like they need to clean the place they paid for. They should also not feel completely unsafe in the home they wanted to go for a getaway. We believe that all of these things could have easily been avoided by the host, and are very upset with the experience we had. Before posting a public review, we reached out to the host with all of our concerns, all we wanted was a simple apology/remorse for how this whole stay happened. Instead, the host accused us of making up some of our concerns/complaints (we have photo proof of most of the complaints). If the host was remorseful we would have been fine. The way she responded to our concerns/complaints really bothered and hurt us. Very unprofessional. We will definitely not be staying there again.

  • We stayed at the Pool House for three nights and it was a perfect getaway for the four of us and our dogs. The house is very pet friendly with large yards for the dogs to run. With the pool, hot tub, fire pits, and pool table, there was always something to do. Donna was a terrific host and very responsive to our messages. 10 out of 10 would visit again and recommend to friends.

Liberty call is three miles from the highway and yet surrounded by rolling hills of farmland, no traffic sounds on a road that is lightly traveled. It is a place to go for a quiet, peaceful getaway. A place to enjoy the sounds of the birds with a beautiful rural view…and yet a short drive to enjoy some shopping, restaurants, amusement park or cigars. It’s the perfect location to have the best of both worlds!
The listing is a converted 3-bay barn that we refer to as Liberty Call Farm. The deck is the full length of the house, has a gas grill, chiminea and 2 dining table with chairs (seats 12) and umbrellas. We have a little man made pond beyond the deck that houses several frogs who enjoy singing in the summer, especially when the sun goes down. When you walk into the converted barn, before you get to the kitchen and living room as described below, you enter in what we call the addition. It has a half bathroom and a TV with DirecTV. The converted barn is both modern and aged. The kitchen was remodeled in 2014 and is very roomy with room to seat 12, refrigerator, electric stove/oven, microwave, Keurig and lots of counter space. It is a fully functioning kitchen. The kitchen floor was also renovated with a beautiful wood floor. The living room, which can be clearly seen from the kitchen, has its original barn floor with tractor marks from where the tractors rode through. The original barn beams are found throughout the living room, along with ladders built into the beams. The living room has a 60” TV with DirecTV. The first floor has 2 bedrooms that share a bathroom. The second floor has 2 bedrooms that share a bathroom. The second floor also has the master bedroom with a private bathroom and a TV with DirecTV. The finished attic has a private bathroom along with 4 beds, 1 queen, 1 full and 2 twins and a TV with DirecTV. A private driveway can hold 5-7 cars. Additional parking of 5 can be accommodated if need be. If you have no pets the cleaning fee will be reduced to $100.
We are located in a quiet, low traffic area, surrounded by the Foliage Farm, Rodale Institute, Burkholder's organic dairy farm and produce and Brubaker's homemade quilts, all within walking distance. • I highly recommend this beautiful handcrafted cabin. The pictures do not do the home justice. The cabin is huge and has so much character. There is a wood burning fireplace and fire pit. The hosts own a herd of goats that you can hand-feed in the backyard. All around you, you're surrounded by green rolling pastures and sunlight. And if you need groceries, there's a Walmart just 15 minutes away. For us, it was a quick 2 hour drive up from NYC. Donna the host was truly wonderful. I have nothing but great things to say.

    Bree2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This charming house was perfect for our group of 10. We were 5 couples in our mid 30's just looking for a quiet place to hang out for the weekend. Each of our rooms had a full bed or bigger and there were plenty of bathrooms (only two couples had to share, the rest of us had our own). The house was fully stocked with cooking gear, and Donna was nice enough to bring us the one thing we needed that wasn't already there. There was ample wood for the fireplace, huge TV (with Roku and satellite), plenty of seating for when we were just hanging out, perfectly fine internet, and yes, there were fainting goats. There's really nothing about the house any of us would have changed. Donna was great. Super responsive before we arrived, and equally helpful once we landed. She and her husband live up a hill on the property, but by no means did our group feel like we were being watched/chaperoned. When we first arrived, they gave us great suggestions on what activities were in the area, left us crackers for the goats, a helpful tour of the house, and then disappeared. There's not a ton to do in the area, but we never felt bored, mainly because we just wanted to relax. The River of Rocks is worth visiting, there's the Sands Casino, and Dietrich's Meats is the type of general store that one should always visit when vacationing outside of a city. Long story short: It was great. We can't wait to go back.

  • Liberty Call is an excellent place to stay for larger families. Donna is an excellent host who provided much more than we could ever have expected. The converted barn is perfect in all of its imperfections. Very cool. If you're looking to stay in a quiet, rural area, this is the place to be. The 13 goats are just icing on the cake. Our only regret was that our stay was too short to fully appreciate the property, and that we didn't have a gift for our hosts that represents our home town/state. Come prepared to be taken care of.

    Stephen 2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Donna's converted barn is one of the most unique places I've ever stayed in. It feels a bit like a log cabin, and it's huge! The house was fully stocked with linens and towels, and even some extra kitchen supplies/food apart from the standard appliances and kitchenware. The setup/layout is really cool, and part of the fun was just finding all of the different corridors and rooms in the house when we arrived. There was plenty of space for my group to stretch out, relax, cook, and just generally enjoy our time there. We spent a lot of time on the front porch, and the surrounding area was nice to take a walk around at night. And Donna was a really great, communicative host. She was quick to help smooth out arrival plans and even offered to let us stay a little later in the house on checkout day because we were getting in so late. I would definitely recommend staying here, and would book again if I'm back in the area and it's available!

    Rebecca2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Donna was an absolutely excellent host. She checked in to make sure we were comfortable. She left us alone unless we asked for something. She provided a great assortment of breakfast items and other treats that made the stay even better. She was timely in responding to emails, and quick to address any issues that came up during booking and during our stay. I would recommend the property to anyone with a large group looking for a place to hang out and relax. The house has many great spaces, but the one of the main perks was the myriad of beds there were. Our group of 11 was very well accommodated. The social spaces were also large enough to handle a sizable group, with enough pots and pans, flatware etc. The only downside to this place was that the photos do not do the setting or home proper justice!

    Tyler2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • What an awesome find! The pictures do not do this amazing converted barn justice. The house is big and open and sleeps a lot of people comfortably. We had 9 adults and two babies and there was still plenty of room. Donna is so nice and accommodating- the house had everything we needed and Donna even provided breakfast, snacks, fruit, and baked goods. The area surrounding the house is beautiful to drive through as well. We will definitely be coming back to stay again!

    Morgan2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed a few AirBnB's in the past but this one was the absolute best. Donna and her Husband were fantastic hosts. I traveled from Australia to have a reunion with 15 of my closest friends from when I went to college in Kutztown. We rented to whole house and it was amazing. Donna was very generous with check in and check out time which was greatly appreciated as people were coming in from all over the place. Photos do not do justice to the venue. It exceeded all expectations. My only regret was having to leave. A small item was left in the house and Donna mailed it to me which was a beautiful to do!!! If you are granted Liberty Call from your busy life, this is the place to come. Don't forget to to feed the very cool goats. 10 stars - I will be back !

    Matt2016-10-24T00:00:00Z

Thank you for looking at Saucony House and Guesthouse, a family home embracing the traditions of classic Pennsylvania stone houses. Saucony House is one of many structures established in 1791 as apart of a 94 acre property in the northern section of Rockland Township. A wonderful place to take in the surrounding nature and listen to the water flow from Saucony creek for which the house gets its namesake. All images were taken in May of 2019. @sauconyhouse #sauconyhouse
Set with a multi-level main house, a separate guest house, plenty of outdoor seating and a 40k gallon pool, all on 6 acres of country and ready to be enjoyed. All the water is from a private spring located on the property. We welcome you to stay.
Located in Rockland Township, a rural farming community, located about 10 minutes outside of any small towns. The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful.

The amazing stone house, the manicured grounds, and the gentle sound of Saucony Creek made our trip memorable. Kids loved the gorgeous pool and the toys. Lauren was a helpful host and was very responsive to our questions. We would love to go back!

  • A wedding took me, my husband and his parents to Kutztown. Instead of staying in a hotel, we chose to stay together at Laurel's Airbnb. The home was comfortable, inviting, clean and close to Main Street. The neighborhood is quiet and Laurel's home overlooks the town. Unfortunately, it was cloudy every day during our 5 day visit so we missed out on the view. Since we are from Texas, we were chilled by the cooler temps - Laurel responded immediately to my inquiry of how to work the thermostat. I highly recommend a stay here.

The Farmhouse is an 1850's beautifully restored house located on the award winning Golden Oaks Golf Club Ranked #2 in PA. by Golf Advisor. The Farmhouse has 3 bedrooms wt 4 beds, 2 1/2 baths and a cozy Tavern Room. The Farmhouse has TVs in each room and has wireless, and is about 50 yards from the Restaurant and Clubhouse, as well as ProShop. Golden Oaks is located 15 minutes from local shops and restaurants and about an hour & 15 minutes from Philly, 2 1/2 hours to NYC and 40 minutes from Allentown.
  • Thank you Jody for a wonderful stay! My family was excited to stay in such a beautiful historic farm house situated so conveniently next to the golf course and clubhouse. We hope next time we can enjoy a longer stay!

  • Large farmhouse on grounds of a golf course. Comfortable three bedrooms and 2 baths. The downstairs is essentially unfurnished except for a small den so really not ideal for sitting around or chatting. No kitchen or cooking.

  • Picked this farm house to be near Kutztown Univ. for graduation, and wanted to avoid the hotel scene. BEST CHOICE EVER ! The golf course staff made us feel welcome, we hit balls on the green, took a golf cart ride around the course and had a private table waiting for us in the loft of the resturant. We felt like we were their most important customer in our private roomy farm house. We may go back for a golf weekend next. Would be a great place for a wedding or family getaway, even if your not a golfer. Clean, comfy and private.

    Kim2018-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Honestly, me and my family had a such a sad experience. I have to be fair saying that the place is in a really good spot however and unfortunately seems like the owner uses the excuse of being a 1850's original house to not care about cleaning or comfort (at all). Place was really dirty, floors, windows. I had booked for 2 nights but we left after first night. Long story short, i tried my best to be nice giving a feedback to home owner but her first straight answer was "NO REFUND" . We hope you use this money to take better care of this place. Thx
