License#STHR (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Spacious 1 bedroom w/living room, eat-in kitchen and bath in ideal Portland peninsula location, walk to all. situated on the edge of the west end and downtown. 2 blocks from the ocean. Walk everywhere in this central, historic, perfect location. Easy street parking. Simple furnishings, older retro flair. 2nd floor of 3 unit Victorian on dead end, quiet street. Queen bed and futon sleeps up to four. There is no parking but often spaces are available on this dead end street
Please read carefully: This is a well-loved apartment in an 1875 building full of sunlight, with Hardwood floors and tall ceilings, you'll be in a classic Portland "triple decker" Victorian building surrounded by the stunning architecture of portland's historic west end. You can walk anywhere in town within minutes. Basic kitchen and bathroom essentials provided. One queen memory foam bed and one fouton can sleep up to four. Large living space-this is an older apartment with older kitchen and bath-it is simple-not luxurious or modern-but it is clean and in the best location. Please appreciate the value of my space-that it is affordable, clean and large, with a retro flare and in a very desirable neighborhood, walking distance to everything on the peninsula. however, be advised, there is no tv and towels do not match and I have never been to ikea. This is the 2nd floor of a 3 unit and the second floor walk-up has steep steps, consider this if you have mobility issues. One Window a/c unit in bedroom, radiator heat (steam heat=white noise which apparently bothers some) I live below and tenants live on the third floor-you will hear occasional sounds throughout the building from residents and even though it is a quiet street you may still hear people on the street (it is an apartment in a city-after all). There is no parking for air bnb-even though there is a driveway-the spaces belong to tenants...guests parking in the driveway for a few minutes to unload luggage is fine..guests have usually been able to park easily right on my street at no cost. Street parking is free on most streets in the neighborhood-Just read the signs as there are usually 2 nights a month overnight parking is not allowed on certain streets for cleaning. Guests arriving late in the evening may have trouble finding street parking. There is also a $5 daily parking lot on commercial street next to Irving gas station about a 3 minute walk. This is a quiet building and no partying is allowed. The apartment is located on a dead end street off park street on the right called Stetson ct-it is a block away from the landmark historic Victorian mansion on park street and danforth. Additionally, early check-in or late check-out can most likely be accommodated with a $20 fee. That said anyone staying beyond the 11 am check out for whatever circumstances will receive a $20 payment request.. Thanks
Portland's west end is such an amazing neighborhood, wandering through these tree lined streets filled with incredible architecture is one of my favorite pastimes. Smile at everyone out for a stroll and enjoy the beauty and character surrounding you. Rosemont market, oh no cafe, and speckled axe coffee are all staples of the west end. Commercial street is two blocks away and uptown or downtown are both 10 minute walks.

STR REG# (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) This apartment is close to all the action of downtown (7 minute walk), the Old Port (15 minute walk). Deering Oaks Park is one block away. Please note it SHARES A BATHROOM with the adjacent studio. It is very close to all the wonderful restaurants, breweries and bars of Portland. The building does sit next to a light industrial urban area, there is a less 'salubrious' area 2 blocks east, which is easily avoided, and this is Portland, you will see 'street characters'..
This is a one bedroom apartment with its own private access door but with a SHARED BATHROOM. You have a private living area which consists of a bedroom, large living room with TV, WiFi, Netflix and Hulu streaming and a dining area/kitchenette. This apartment does not have a full kitchen, but has a small fridge/freezer, microwave, hot plate, pots and pans etc. It is a ground floor level apartment and for this reason I have frosted the windows for privacy. The bedroom has air conditioning and we suggest putting this on at night (even if it is on fan only) as this will mitigate any outside noises from traffic and voices. The street is generally quiet at night. The bathroom is accessed through a hallway, so you have your own lockable door, a hallway and the opposing apartments lockable door to separate the private areas. This is an old building and nothing is really level/square. Noises can travel and for that reason we request that guests please enter and exit quietly and please be aware of those below you.
This neighborhood (West Bayside) is undergoing strong gentrification. There are several great restaurants less than a minutes walk from the front door (Isa, American Bayside Cafe, Back Bay Grill and Food Fork Lab, 2 buildings down). However, the building borders a light industrial neighborhood and sits behind the main post office. It is an urban environment, not a tree lined residential street. The area 2 blocks east is best to avoid, you are safe but it doesn't look pretty. It is easily avoided by accessing downtown Portland via Forest Avenue. Deering Oaks Park is a beautiful park that is only one block west, and has a great Farmers Market at the weekend. Trader Joe's and Whole Foods a quick 2 minute car ride or 6 minute walk away. The building is minutes away from everything, but this being Portland, you will see 'street characters' in our neighborhood.

A quiet, beautifully lit, sanctuary in the middle of Portland's peninsula. The Art Studio is on the ground floor of a 100 year old church. It's previous use was as a painter's studio and there is still some paint on the radiant heat, polished, concrete floor. The room is full of art by Maine artists. Your host is an artist and makes the rest of the building his home and work space. For the use of guests there is a sunny, fenced yard accessible from the rental.
Park your car because you won't need it. In minutes you can to walk to the many restaurants and bars as well as brewery and distillery tasting rooms. Less than 20 minute walk to the Portland Museum of Art, Portland Stage Company, and the State Theater through the center of the downtown. And you'll be only one block from Portland's historic performing arts facility Merrill Auditorium. My listing is dog friendly, but you must inform me if your dog(s) are accompanying you. More than one dog will require an additional $15 per night.

Sunny ground floor apartment in a beautiful brick Victorian era Italianate home. 1000 sq. ft with hardwood floors, king bed, full bath, private entrance, access to patio and yard. Walking distance to everything; just two blocks from Congress Square.
This is a spacious one-bedroom apartment with a classic Portland layout: living room in front, french doors to the dining room, bedroom to the side, kitchen in the back. The bay window gets copious morning sun and makes the maple floors gleam. The bathroom has just been expanded and remodeled in 2017 with a small tub and new fixtures. The bedroom has a kingsize bed and a rollaway twin bed or pack-n-play crib is available. The entire place has replacement windows and was certified lead-safe by the city of Portland. Please note that like many homes in Maine, there is no air-conditioning, as Portland averages only 4 days per year over 90 degrees, in which case we have fans and beaches.
Mechanic Street is a little one-way street right in the heart of downtown, in the most diverse neighborhood in the state. Online maps measure walking distance in FEET to Portland's most celebrated restaurants, nightspots and parks, and less than three blocks to Portland Stage Company, Portland Museum of Art and Congress Square, the center of Portland's art district. Also be advised that a resource center for the homeless is down the street and an ancient local dive bar on the corner can sometimes attract an "urban tableau" of our less-fortunate neighbors, however they are mostly harmless and the community policing center is nearby and responsive.

We are in the heart of downtown Portland. 5 to 10 minute walk, to all Portland has to offer; restaurants, breweries, galleries, parks, shops, famers markets. The State Theater, Portland Museum of Art-Portland's arts district, the Old Port, Congress Square are near. We are located in a vibrant transitional neighborhood, home to Trader Joes, ISA, Back Bay Grill, Bayside Bowl and Bayside Café. There is a homeless outreach center located 3 blocks away that serves the homeless.
First floor studio space in our 1848 Greek Revival home, with separate entrance. It is not a large space, but there is a feeling of spaciousness, largely due to 9 foot ceilings. There is a small coffee maker, and a small refrigerator with local beer, water, coffee and cream. Outdoor garden space is shared- primarily with Elmo and Wally (our French bulldogs), and Mack, (our cat). Renovations were completed in August 2017; new floor, walls, lighting/electric, and a new bathroom. A few things to know about your garden mates; Elmo has a great deal of enthusiasm, and we are working on his greeting behavior as he tends to jump for joy when humans step into the back yard area (he will jump on you -we are working on this) - Wally overall is more low key, but still very excited to greet people- Mack, the cat lounges on the chairs outside the studio and in various places in the garden, he is very friendly and enjoys greeting guests at the backyard gate.

Spacious ( 1100 sq. ft. ), updated early Victorian apartment bordering the Arts District in Portland's historic and beautiful West End with great natural light, plenty of space, high-end linens (organic sheets, turkish towels), free on-street parking, a private garden entrance, and a sheltered screened porch. Walk to nearby restaurants, cafes, museums, parks and downtown Old Port, and return to a space that you'll be very happy to call 'home'! [ 2019 STHR Reg. #001051 ]
Designed by a boat builder in 1840, this 1 bed / 1 bath spacious (1100 sq. ft.) apartment is located within a 2-unit property in the historic West End, where you can slowly walk along leafy streets and enjoy the area's beautiful Victorian architecture and many wonderful restaurants/cafés. The apartment has its own private entrance through the garden gate. This privacy does not mean that you are on your own however if you should need anything; we live at the property and are happy to help.
The apartment is in an excellent location allowing easy access to a wide variety of Portland's charms. We are located on the Eastern edge of the West End. A quick summary of the possibilities: West - explore West End's beautiful, Victorian neighborhoods. The West End is famous for its architecture and boasts some of Portland’s largest historic homes including the historic Victoria Mansion museum. We provide our guests with a walking tour book. North - within a 5-10 minute walk, enjoy the many excellent restaurants and arts venues along Congress Street and nearby. We provide a local map with our humble recommendations. South - within a 5 minute walk, grab a delicious coffee at Good Medicine and relax at Harbor View Memorial Park looking out over Portland's working waterfront. East - within 5 minutes take in the historic Victoria Mansion museum and within a pleasant 10-15 minute walk explore the Arts District and Old Ports' 'downtown' restaurants, working waterfront, and shopping. Finally, if you'd prefer just to relax, and not walk more than a few steps, we'd recommend a quick walk to Ohno's for a breakfast sandwich, make some coffee in the apartment's kitchen, and hang out in the lightly breezy porch. That's what I'd do! A small sample of the many nearby attractions within short walking distance: Restaurants - Ohno Café, Bonobo, Outliers, Bao Bao Dumpling House, Local 188, Pai Men Miyake Markets - Rosemont Market, Aurora Provisions Coffee Shops - Speckled Ax, Tandem Coffee Arts - Portland Museum of Art, Victoria Mansion Parks / Playgrounds - Tyng / Tate Playground, Harborview Memorial Park

Wonderful, clean and charming 2 bedroom unit w/ full kitchen within a few minutes walk to all intown Portland amenities. Located in the trendy Bayside neighborhood.. sort of like Brooklyn 20 years ago thus transitional, but super safe and super close to all downtown/Old Port amenities! Easily access the Back Cove for running/walking, the downtown for eating and all public transportation extremely close by.
This unit is on the 2nd floor in a 3 unit multi unit thus minimal to no interaction with others if so desired. Shared entrance to building, but private entrance to the unit.
A great, transitional neighborhood. A bit of street traffic during the day, but extremely safe and very quiet at night and as close to downtown as anywhere. I have lived here 3 years and love it myself. Trader Joe's, Back Bay Grill, Bintliffs, Bayside Bowl and a fantastic Flea Market (Flea-for-all) all within 2 to 3 blocks also!

Remodeled bathroom with floor-to-ceiling white tiles, rain shower, upgraded toilet, and the cutest little 9" vanity you've ever seen. Other features: *Black-out shades *Your choice of fan or air conditioner in summer *Filtered water *Organic cotton sheets *Reliable Wi-Fi *Smart TV with 125 cable channels and Apple TV *Bluetooth speaker *Firm sofa that easily converts to a queen-sized bed. Topped with the provided 2" memory foam and new fluffy featherbed, it's quite comfy! *Cuddledown pillows, organic cotton linens, and bath towels *Kitchen with the essentials: utensils, dish set, pots, colander, kettle, bowls, cutting board, can opener, bar ware such as wine and cocktail glasses, wine opener, cocktail shaker, spice rack, Nutribullet, mini waffle maker, popcorn maker, etc. We are also clean freaks. BEFORE making a booking with us, please consider whether our amenities suit your needs or whether you'd prefer a real bed, a bedroom, a larger unit, on-site parking, etc. at an alternate listing. We want happy guests! The condo is on historic Deering Street - lined with trees, stately Victorian mansions, and brick sidewalks. The condo is one of 6 in the building, built in 1865 by a local carpenter by the name of Rufus Deering for he and his family. It's a lovely building and many of the architectural details have been lovingly preserved.
The condo is a on a quiet and safe residential street, and the bustling commerce of Congress Street is just a block away. The action on Congress Street is all considered part of the Arts District, so it's very artsy! The very popular ArtWalk First Friday is on the first Friday of every month, and it's right around the corner from the condo. This part of town is where the locals hang out; the Old Port is, on the other hand, very touristy. Our local park, Congress Square, is a 1-minute walk and offers outdoor entertainment several evenings a week, including dancing and live music - all for free! Bars, restaurants, shops, and live music venues line Congress Street, so you don't need to go far from the condo for coffee, live music, or a meal. Not only is our street - Deering Street - one of the most beautiful streets in all of Portland - tree-lined, with brick sidewalks and very little traffic - it is also a cohesive collection of high quality architect-designed buildings from the second half of the 19th century that were originally predominantly residential in nature. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Well lit, large room with an extra futon (second bed) in a cozy old-fashioned Maine duplex with your own private entry. The queen size bed, plush with 800 (or more) thread count sheets, a down comforter and cozy pillows will prove to be comfortable. We are an easy walk to everything, and we offer our driveway for parking.
(Please read my entire listing as it will answer most, if not, all questions you may have. It will also help you decide if what I have to offer will meet your expectations and needs so you can have an amazing stay here in Portland) Hi, I'm Christine. I'm here to help you have an enjoyable stay at my home. But, also, I have made my Airbnb as self-sufficient as possible in case I'm off doing unpredictable life & mom things. I don't want my busy schedule to hinder any of your plans. As much as I would love to meet all of my guests, I may not be able to. (Do know, I will always be reachable by phone or text and would love to help in any way I can) My place is right in Portland and you can literally walk to most, (if not all) desired locations. It is a two story duplex that I have converted into a home for my family with a designated Airbnb area. To ensure privacy, my family stays in an area that is totally separate and secure from the Airbnb space. I have a dog (Harriet) and she will bark. Even though she is friendly, you will not have direct contact with her. My house is not modern. In fact, it is well over 100 years old. Calling it a "fixer-upper" is a bit harsh, but it does need some special love and attention. As much as I am very serious about making these upgrades happen, it has been a slow process. Take comfort in knowing that I have prioritized the Airbnb space and its the best room in the house! I am proud to have made it into a unique/comfortable/clean and cozy little Spot for my guests. (I intend to use my Airbnb revenue as a means to make such improvements to the rest of my home) I love my neighborhood. Back Bay Grill, Bayside Bowl, Bubba's, (voted best dance club) Isa and American Bayside Grill are primo hot spots within a block of my house. We are a short walk to The Museum of Art, Nickelodeon, the Old Port, (waterfront) Trader Joe's, Whole Foods Market, Deering Oaks Park and some of the nations most highly regarded microbrew pubs. On the downside, there is a resource center a few blocks from my house. You may encounter homeless people who may/may not be under the influence of drugs/alcohol. The area can easily be avoided by foot and/or by car. I provide a map that clearly shows where the resource center is and how to best avoid it. (if you choose) Please take comfort in knowing, I have lived in my neighborhood for 15 years and I feel safe in my home, and I would never have an Airbnb if this were not the case. Also, we are less than 2 minutes off the 295 highway, so traveling north or south of the city will be as easy as it gets with minimal city driving. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT MY PLACE: Q: When can I check in or check out? A: I will try to accommodate your desired check-in or check-out, no matter what time it is. Note that early check ins are not always possible if I have a guest leaving that morning, as I need time to have the room cleaned for you. Q: Will I have a key? Can I come and go as I please? And, where do I leave the key when I leave. A: Yes, yes and leave the key in the room.
Parris street is a little two-way street right in the heart of downtown Portland, in the most diverse area of the state. Online maps measure distances in feet to the most celebrated and award winning restaurants and night spots. We are located just blocks from Portlands highly touted art district with the Portland Museum of Art within ten minutes on foot. My family has lived in the neighborhood for over a decade. We feel safe in our home and have never had an incident where someone even tried to break in.

Just a few blocks from the waterfront, this section of Congress Street is lined with art galleries, antique shops, and artist studios as well as the Portland Museum of Art, the Institute of Contemporary Art at MECA, the Center for Cultural Exchange, the State Theater, the Portland Stage Company, the Center for Maine History and more. Several music venues offer live music in the Arts District : Blue, 650 Congress Street: A jazz club with every Saturday dedicated to the genre and live music nearly every night of the week ranging from open mic to Irish session. Tapas and a good wine selection. Empire, 575 Congress Street: Eat at Empire Chinese Kitchen before heading upstairs to see a show. Local and national acts pass through this small club, and it's home to the long-running Clash of the Titans series. Geno's Rock Club, 625 Congress Street: This rock/metal club has character. The theater-style set up makes every spot in the house a good one, and the whiskey is good. One Longfellow Square, 181 State Street, Suite 201: Hosting acts from all genres, One Longfellow Square is a great place to hear old favorites and learn new artists. Charming, large efficiency w/private bath, super close to all in town Portland amenities and located in a transitional, but trendy Bayside neighborhood..sort of like Brooklyn 20 year ago. Location is super safe. No kitchen, but there is a coffee maker, microwave, and small refrigerator
Cozy efficiency in solid brick building close to all in town amenities, located in transitional but trendy Bayside neighborhood. Efficiency has no kitchen, but there is a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The Bayside neighborhood in full disclosure is considered slightly edgy, but up and coming for sure and as close to downtown as any neighborhood in Portland. It is extremely safe and as a working professional I love living in this location. It is busy location during the day with the city works close by, but a ghost town at night thus generally quiet after 5.
The Bayside neighborhood in full disclosure is transitional, but it is as close to the Old Port/downtown as anywhere and we have never had any safety issues at all - Trader Joe's, Back Bay Grill, Bintliffs, Bayside Bowl and a fantastic Flea Market (Flea-for-all) all within 2 to 3 blocks also!
